Tommy, any chance of making a ROM with the following removed:
Office Mobile pack (PowerPoint Mobile, Excel Mobile, Word Mobile, OneNote Mobile)
Windows Media Player 10
Cogent BIO Tools for Finger chip
Any chance of this? Or is your ROM version as minimised as it's going to get already?
Better having a separate thread as well, makes it so much easier to keep track :)

I have an old style hx2410 without the ROM upgrade so I am very limited on what can go on the device. It would be great to increase the storage to more than 12-14 megs on the device since there are some things that just have to be installed to the device.

Your problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2076080&postcount=492
Could you try to explain it a little better please?
From what I read, even when not connected your iPAQ behaves as though it is on external power? If so, then no mine does not suffer from this, when disconnected the screen goes duller as it is on the battery. When plugged back in, the screen goes brighter, and after a few seconds it shows the charging symbol. However, the battery level doesn't seem to go higher as you mentioned.

What is on Your display if You connect to charger for longer then 3 min and next dosconnect?
In previous ROM could be see problems after charging longer then 3 min.....

I am digging the kitchen! I figured out how to add OEM packages and that is very nifty!
I do have a java question though....
I can not get any JME program to run on my IPAQ other than IBM's J9. I wish emertec's would work because of the full screen functionality.
Has anyone else been able to get any java programs to run on their IPAQ?

If you want to localize this rom, you need mui files. I tried play with it last time ago. For example in wm6.0. I dumped WM6.0 SDK and copied the mui files, edited some registry and with resource hacker changed some dll files(for example iPAQ wireless) and it will work ...
It's better idea then SunnySoft InterWrite etc.

You need mui files and edit some registry - that's no problem
but you need to edit some dll with resource hacker and I don't speak any word in spanish :) That's the reason that I'm not able to translate it for you ....

Let it start from begining

Take you pda to PreBL mode then press callendar
Connect to cradle
run hpRUU
update the rom and wait for complete updating as long as it's possible
click on OK
unplug pda
do PS Format (you will see PS Format info on pda)
wait for welcome screen as long as it's possible

ok, for downgrade of wm6.1 to wm5 simply I must execute the installation of the ROM wm5 that I used to raise of wm2003 > wm5? , or I must unload some special software to lower to me of wm6.1 > wm5. thanks for everything, I feel to be heavy.

Tommy was just curious as to why there are 2 wireless managers in this rom. The one in the task tray works as it always has. But the one in the settings appears to not function correctly. I doesnt give you the option to control wifi. Only bluetooth. I did notice that it controls wifi after you use the original task tray wireless manager to turn it on. Anyways if you could just tell me what i need to uncheck in build os to remove that please. I want to keep the original wireless manager in the task tray. Thank you sir.

During ROM Build Automated process after G reloc and I enter "y" and enter while in command window a window pops up and says BuildIMGFS.exe has stopped working. Please wait while windows searches for an option. So I then went to Tools folder and double clicked on BuildIMGFS.exe about 20 times only to see that everytime without fail it states BuildIMGFS.exe has stopped working. Anyone got a solution?...........................I noticed also that G reloc never really shows up on the screen. I get the same result no matter which OS with the exception of Windows XP doesnt fail with BuildIMGFS. However in XP I still dont see it bring up G'Reloc. Even worse after all the files i have added about 10 mb the actual rom file is no bigger than it originally was. I have come to the conclusion that no matter what I do and a year running and still can not build any rom. Cant build ATT TILT ROM and cant even build Ipaq rom. Seems the same problem i have with hp rom i had with cingular rom. After all the ingredients have been added to the rom the NBF file isnt being resized to appropriately compensate for the increased size. In other words the rom is at 49,181 KB abd after adding approxiamtely 10 to 12 MB of extra ingredients the rom is still 49,181 KB. I have tried on 2 Operating systems. At least I got a rom out of the deal with xp but its still 49,181 KB. Dont understand. did you see green screen or just black screen at this point?
black screen - something wrong with ROM
green screen - you'll must wait for welcome info
Thats the same screen get no matter what i add to rom. I jsut added a .tsk file to rom and still get the black screen after format PS. DOnt understand what im missing in the kitchen but it doesnt work when you starte adding things to the rom. You can take away but you cant add. Even the smallest ingredient to rom causes it to fail. If i use his kitchen and cook with his ingredients only and remove today panel it cooks fine and works great. If i take away today panel and add a personal ingredient it makes the rom but i get the black screen. it appears that the rom is not being recooked properly because no matter what you add to it the file size of the NBF file never changes. Beats me. I believe its time to quit. Over a year of trying to build a rom and not once have i ever been able to create any of mine own roms. Unless someone wants to help I believe its time to move on to what im good at. Making cabs and building applications.

It will be ready on monday I hope.
Second thing is BuildOS.
If you're not able to start it, it will means that your OS don't have MS .Net Framework 2.xxx or you do something wrong with option.xml files or you have something wrong with your computer. :)

You need to do a clean reset after flashing the ROM, then it'll load up.
To do this press:
Press and hold the Calendar button, the Power button, and the Messaging button. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ.

So try a clean reset on your PDA now, and see if it works:
Press and hold the Calendar button, the Power button, and the Messaging button. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ.

I'm sure your doing a hard reset instead of a clean reset.
HARD RESET =
Performing a "Hard" Reset
Perform a hard reset only when you want to clear all user-installed settings, applications, and data from RAM (Random Access Memory), where data and applications you have loaded are stored.
CAUTION: If you perform a hard reset, your Pocket PC loses all data and programs not saved in iPAQ File Store.
To perform a hard reset:
1. Press and hold down the Calendar and iTask buttons.
2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ Pocket PC for about two seconds.
3. When the Pocket PC screen begins to fade, release the Calendar and iTask buttons first, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button.
NOTE: If you simultaneously push and hold the Reset, Calendar, and iTask buttons for more than two seconds, the battery disconnects. To restart the device, either plug the device into the AC Adapter or press the Reset button again. After performing a hard reset, you may need to reinstall applications stored in iPAQ File Store to restore shortcuts and full functionality.
4. The Pocket PC resets and powers on.
CLEAN RESET =
Press and hold the Calendar button, the Power button, and the Messaging button. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ.
Do the clean reset and it should be fine. If in doubt, re-flash the ROM and perform a Clean Reset when it says that it is finished.

Of course that im doing theses: "Press and hold the Calendar button, the Power button, and the Messaging button. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ." but It me does not work :(:(

Tommy, I installed your version without SRS to my hx2410. It is great and flawless so far. I got 12.75MB storage left! How can you do that, just like magic, for in this version, you have even added the .net 2.0.
When I installed the PDAVIET version, I have only 11.9MB left and in your earlier 6.1 version (in another older thread), 12.5MB left. What a great job this time! This is the best version I have ever experienced, all previous versions, such as 3PDA, PDAVIET, Yurrix ... etc. are obsolete now, in my opinion!
Thanks again.

Hello, you might say to me since(as,like) you could have installed this version in her(it) hx2410? I have installed it of all the possible forms, first it begins the process downloading up to 50 %, then it puts Flashing, ends and one restarts and begins to load the rom, then I do the reset clean, it(he,she) puts Formatting PS ... it comes ultimately but then it does not do anything you are welcome. am I doing something badly?

I think your procedure is right since you can download the ROM to your hx2410 and you can see the word "Flushing" on the screen. I guess, maybe you have used the wrong updating version. Let me tell you what I did in updating my hx2410. It is quite simple and I have used this procedure to flush my 2410 forward and backward many many times without failing even once.
No matter what version you have in your hx2410, you can just start the following steps right away. No need to flush up or down to a specific version.
Step 1: Download the Advance Pack for hx2xxx. Inside it, there is a folder called "Wm5.0 for hx2000_1.00.00.L_ENG" which should contain a rom file called "E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf".
Step 2: Download Tommy's (or any other versions) rom 6.1 mentioned in #1 above, inside it, there is a rom file called "ipaqrom.nbf". Copy this file to the folder in Step 1 above.
Step 3: Set the PDA in Pre-BL state. Now run hpruu.exe and DON'T press the UPDATE button.
Step 4: Rename the "E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf" file to "E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf.bak" and rename the "ipaqrom.nbf" file to "E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf". (that is, just a simple exchange of the rom file name to fool the hpruu.exe)
Step 5: Now press the UPDATE button. The first 50% is downloading file and the last 50% is flushing and finishing.
Step 6: After 100% completed, the PDA will reset and restart itself. If not, press calendar+power+messenger+reset to reset the PDA to the new windows mobile operating system.
Good luck!

Many people here have asked for a "light" rom for hx2410 as it is very limited in memory.
Tommy - can you please please create a version of this ROM for us? that would be much appreciated.

Hi guys.
I flashed a lot of devices, and bring back to life also few of them. But now I think my 2790b is dead. I used tommy ROM, and device woke up, but freezed at the bootloader screen. No clean reset or hard reset helped. So I just put device to white screen bootloader mode and flashed my own cooked and already tested ROM. BUT. When it was on 2%, it crashed. And why? Because somebody connected new USB device to my PC at the same time I flashed the device. I never thought, that this can brick my device. The story continues. I did NOT restarted the device, instead I start the whole flash process again. Now it was flashed to 100%. After reset the device won't woke up. It is dead. Nor without battery, or only on adapter anything. So my question is -
do you (anybody) think, that is a way, how to correct bootloader (which I guess is corrupted because of the 2%)? Perhaps via mtty or some similar program?
thank you.
it cannot be connected to MTTY because the usb is actually dead. it is impossible to put device to one of diagnostic mode.

hi Piotr.
I guess that my mistake was, that I did not restarted the device when the flash process crashed for the first time. It was about 2% of done. Instead I started the flash process again. I flashed this my device 13x with new, or myself cooked versions. I had never problem before. I remember, from the past, I had HTC TyTN, where was a table. Something like - from 1-2 % is bootloader, from 3-75 is data, 76-100 GSM or so. So I guess this should be the same. I mean without the GSM part, which is on the TyTN device. When I connect the USB cable, or the cradle, or the AC/DC adaptor, from the device I hear only a little noise, I cannot describe it in english. So thats it. The problem is, that on the USB the device doesnt respond, so I cannot connect to it via any program from the PC.

bosstom,
first: you do not need bootloader for upgrading to WM5, just plug your iPaq and launch upgrader.
second: you need to flash in the EXACTLY SAME ORDER:
1.00.00.L -> 1.00.00.H -> 1.02.00.H -> WM6
third: for every flashing after 1.00.00.L use hpRUU flashing software supplied with 1.00.00.L firmware.
PS: ATTENTION!! This method is for hx2110 and hx2410 only. Every other model allready have "H" version firmware and do not need to be flashed with 1.00.00.L.
Please excuse me fo bad english as I am russian from 4pda community forum.
Can it be for this for what me SPA does not work in my hx2410 1.00.02L?

sp32408.exe is for iPAQ2190, an WM5.0 model.
hx2410, and hx2110 are wm2003se models. For upgrading to wm5.0, you need to purchase the upgrade pack (WM5.0 for hx2000_1.00.00.L_ENG) from hp.

1.00.00.L -> 1.00.00.H -> 1.02.00.H -> WM6
Using bootloader this walk isn't mandatory....

To sinmae.
As a last resort you can disassemble your Ipaq and remove the backup battery. After that, put back the backup battery and reassemble the Ipaq. Vermillion here was able to boot again in Pre-BL mode (his device wouldn't do anything before). I believe this is your last resort.

I don't believe this. Because, how you can get to something(bootloader) if there's nothing.
Example:
Hypotetic situation.
You have 2 disks. On each you have bootloader.
In bios you have selected boot from first disk.
How you can change boot If you destroyed bootloader on first disk and you don't have utlity to change it?
It's mean if you destroyed bootloader on first disk there's no way to boot from another disk.
Max if you connect equipment connected directly to memory's pins and flash there hard.
There's no another chance !!!
Max if HP build some BIOS for pda but I disbelieve this :)
If they build you're teoreticly able to boot.(boot for example from SD)

Guys, you get wrong some idea.
ROM vs BOOTLOADER.
If you'll destroy rom ---> no matter ...
If you'll destroy bootloader ---> no chance ...

I suppose that tommy's rom will need that my hx2410 there has someone of these rom: 1.00.00. L; 1.00.00. H; 1.02.00. H, because till now I tape-worm her(it) 1.00.01L SPA and on having used tommy's rom has not managed to work, maybe for being a different version or for the language. That think?

I suggest you try the methods in post #131 above by "fieldside":)
did that - no success!
i can flash 1.02.00.H_ENG successfully. But even after that i cannot upgrade to WM6
*EDIT*
i did it this way....
Okay, I've finally got WM6 on my HX2110. For any other people having the same problems I did, here is exactly what I did. What the guides I've found don't tell you is where to find it, and what to do when you get it. Basically you need to trick the iPaq into thinking it's getting the original 1.00.00.l firmware and then switch firmwares. You need to downgrade to the original H firmware before the iPaq will accept wm6. This worked perfectly for me after two days of trial and error. More detailed steps are below, but basically its: flash with 100l, reset, run 100l and swap firmware with 100h, flash, run 100l and swap with wm6, flash
Prerequisites:
Advanced_pack_for_hx2xxx_to_WM6
iPaq HX2110
USB connection to computer
1) Hard reset iPaq. Do this by holding the calendar button and itask button (curved arrow), and then put your stylus into the reset hole on the bottom of the iPaq. This will hard reset it.
2) After doing that, put it in to bootloader mode. You do this by holding the contact button (to the right of the calendar) and the itask arrow, and then clicking the reset button on the bottom. It should now be in bootloader mode. unplug the power/usb cable and plug it back in. hit the calendar button. it should now say USB.
3) run hpRUU.exe under the Wm5.0 for hx2000_1.00.00.L_ENG folder. It's found in provishki. it will flash your ipaq to 1.00.00.l . let it flash all the way.
4) hard reset the ipaq and put it in bootloader mode. see steps 1 and 2. make sure it says USB.
5) do step 3 again, but this time don't click upgrade. rename the E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf file to 100l.nbf
6) go into the SP32408_1.00.00.H_ENG folder and get the NBF file from there. copy it into the 1.00.00.L folder that we were just in. rename is to E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf. click upgrade. let the upgrade finish.
7) repeat steps 1 and 2.
8) delete the E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf file that you just copied over and rename the 100l.nbf file to E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf.
9) run hpruu.exe again. DO NOT CLICK UPGRADE.
10) get the wm6_wwe.nbf file and copy it into the directory we were just in. rename E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf to 100l.old and wm6_wwe.nbf to E1_Upgrade_ROM_v1_00_00_L_SIGNED.nbf
11) click upgrade. let it finish.
12) repeat step 1
you should now have Windows Mobile 6 on your iPaq. Good luck
i can now see WM6 booting but it immediately reboots after the "green boot screen"
i think i have to spend some more hours again ;)
*edit*
YES ! IT REALLY WORKS!!
->
repeated the "Upgrade" Steps with tommys version -> not successfull
repeated the step with PDAVIENTs new 6.1 -> WORKS!
BUT -> had to do some clean resets, put into the craddle/out the craddle and after some hope it came up...
thanks!!!

tommy, there is always the chance that the problem isn't on the bootloader, but somewhere else. I am not an hp technician, but I know that there may ne a chance that we are missing something here, The other friend on the post that I gave link before, says that he brought back to life his ipaq from a brick state, by doing so. So that is why I say that this is his LAST RESORT, without giving any guarantee that it is going to work. But if his device is in a brick state, and out of guarantee, then he has nothing to lose by trying this except his time maybe . All that ofcourse, only if he knows that he will be able to asseble what he disassembled before, without damaging anything.
In any case I won't insist because it is not my ipaq, and I don't want to be responsible for his act. However I am saying again that the other guy stated to my previous post, brought this way back to life his device, that if we had this talk about his device we would say the same things about how BL works etc. However even if I have to admit that I haven;t thought why exactly his ipaq came back to life, the fact is that I can't see an obvious reason for the device to be reacting as a brick.
No offense... English are not my mother language, and I am doing my best with them. I hope my message is not offending you. :)

However... I just saw that Vermilion said at his first post that the device wouldn't do anything (leaving to understand, that it wasn't even turning on), when in a later post he is saying something about colored lines on screen. So I can't be sure about what exactly was the situation he was facing. So I might be wrong.

Congratulation of your success, you must have done a lot of homework in searching the forum. Now, if you can flush PDAVIET's new 6.1 rom, you should be able to flush with Tommy's 6.1 rom using the same procedures. I like Tommy's version without SRS for it has all the basic elements such as .net 2.0 and also very stable and fast when compared with older 6.0 versions. Also after installation, the storage left using Tommy's rom is about 12.7MB whereas PDAVIET one is just 11.9MB (with hx2410).

As I mentioned yesterday that I couldn't flash any 6.1 ROM with Error 503: ActiveSync Error
Now I solve with fieldside post#131 with the following step:
1. Download the Advance Pack for hx2xxx. Inside it, there is a folder called "\Wm5.0 for hx2750_1.00.00.L_ENG" which should contain a rom file called "E1_Magneto_ROM_v1_00_00_H_SIGNED.nbf".
2: Download Tommy's (or any other versions) rom 6.1 mentioned in #1 above, inside it, there is a rom file called "ipaqrom.nbf". Copy this file to the folder in Step 1 above.
3: Set the PDA in Pre-BL state. Now run hpruu.exe and DON'T press the UPDATE button.
4: Rename the "E1_Magneto_ROM_v1_00_00_H_SIGNED.nbf" file to "E1_Magneto_ROM_v1_00_00_H_SIGNED.nbf.bak" (whatever you want) then rename the "ipaqrom.nbf" file to "E1_Magneto_ROM_v1_00_00_H_SIGNED.nbf".
5: Now press the UPDATE button. The first 50% is downloading file and the last 50% is flushing and finishing.
6: After 100% completed, the PDA will reset and restart itself. If not, press calendar+power+messenger+reset to reset the PDA to the new windows mobile operating system.
Thanks to fieldside your easy guide :-)

Sorry, I have some difficulties in understanding what you mean. Can you tell me how far you have done (for example, have you reached the final step in #131) before your hx2410 is rebooted? What I mean is, have you finished 100% of the downloading/updating/finishing? If yes, it means that the software updating is, in fact, successful, maybe it is only a hardware problem ....
Tell me:
Is the "Compressing PS....." initiated by you or automatically restarted by the PDA? Have you tried rebooting the pda yourself several times until it can go further to the setup screen? Is your hx2410 working properly before the updating? Please give us more detailed information, someone here is happy to help you....... You will miss a lot if you cannot enjoy the new 6.1 system ........

I've to apologize for my stupid question in a previous mail (I did not follow the instructions : switch to pre-BL mode) ... How stupid was I ;-)
Now your ROM is working perfectly on my HX2750. Coming from SAMz' one, I must admit yours is even greater. It seems to be much faster with a lower or equivalent ROM printfoot and no bugs (or different ones ?)

The PDAVIET rom is very stable and fast just like the Tommy version. but i prefer the Tommy because of the less programs installed. i do not need them al.
But i think the PDAVIET version is newer because of the number ROM revision. But maybe that is not true because the build of the OS is the same.
Question to Tommy, did u have time to make en guide for rom cooking?
I would really appreciate i want an clean ROM without the thing i do not use (SQL, Enterprise Pack, Internet Share Tool, Windows Update, Cogent Bio, SRS WOW) maybe then i wil have same amount of memory free.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
The PDAVIET rom has an HTC skin for Media Player it's a pitty they should have used the original Media Player skin (in my opinion :))

I think it's possible because you have hx2110(64MB ROM, 64MB RAM and 312MHz Intel PXA270 processor).
But I recommend you to use my kitchen first and rebuild ROM without some applications such as Cogent BIO Tools for Finger chip, WiFi etc.

But for the IPAQ HP2210 here are the specifications :

Does the WM6 system fits into 32 MB ?
Or is it possible to boot from the SD card ?

Hi Tommy,
I'm playing around with your kitchen. Starting with "start.cmd", it runs BuildOS in which I could select some items in the system and in OEM.
My intention was to remove Internet Explorer and replace it by OPERA but I think it is not possible. From what I understood, removing "internet share" will not affect IE ?
Is there a way to cook a ROM without IE ?
second question, once having selected the desired items it seems that the "start" script is autonous to finish the job automatically. is there something else to patch ?
After few hours running your ROM, I can confirm it is a pure jewel very very stable and fast. Thanks again !

Try it and you will see ... :)
But there is one problem. I don't know how is opera programmed. I mean that I don't know if opera is using some files (jscipt.dll, msxml3.dll, msscript.dll etc)
This is the way to completly remove IE with all files what it need to ...
Other way is only delete iexplorer.exe and some registry entries about it ...

Tommy Windows Live for your ROM is not functioning properly. When you log in and set it up to sync with your MSN email it says it syncing but it never does. It doesn't even create you windows live mail acct in Messaging(Inbox). It does work for contacts syncing and messenger use. I do have a perfectly working Windows Live Package for deployment in a rom however still dont know why i cant get your kitchen to work. I have sucessfully created a rom for my HTC TyTN II with a different kitchen on windows vista and xp but cant get yours to work with any version of windows. So you know i am not new to programming. I am an advanced user of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and 2005. I am a superior manipulator of the windows ce and windows registry system as well as application building and deployment for windows and Win CE. ALL my computers have dot net 1.1 and dot net 2.0 and 3.5 compact framework which is installed defaultly by Visual Studio 2008. I hope this helps you understand where i stand in my knowledge and my concern to why i can t get your kitchen to work or function properly.
Update........... I missed a post relating to your working on a new kitchen solution. Thank you much for your work. However if you need the Windows live package advise me.

How-to update:
1. Take your pda to PreBL mode (hold contact+itask+power and then press reset after about two second unhold these buttons) after that press callendar
2. Connect your pda to craddle and plug the cable to AC and to PC, you will hear beep from pc
3. run hpRUU
4. Do hard reset (PS FORMAT - hold callendar + messaging + power and then press reset) after about two seconds unhold these buttons
Im trying to enter in PreBL mode...
The screen turns to white, and when im pressing calendar nothing change...
Im puting the hx2790 on the cradle, and it says "error communicating with Acticesync"
What am i doing wrong guys?
Is it normal the white screen? (without a prompt a message, something...)

Thanks for the rom. I found some bugs while using it on my hx2495 that I would like to say.
The Wireless Manager in Connections Manager doesn't show the Wireless status unless it's on. The Regional Settings incorrectly shows the short date form for the U.S. locale (14-Apr-2008 instead of 4/14/08) as well as a two digits for the 12-hour (09:57 instead of 9:57 in the title bar), which makes that date cover the filename in Word Mobile.
The Encryption area in the options does not work at all and is always checked even if unchecked, and does not encrypt files.
Thanks and I would hope that these be fixed in the near future!

Hi,
1- First switch to pre-BL as you do
2 - put your IPAQ on the craddle, you should see something like "USB connecting" or so ...
3 - then press the calendar button and you should see "USB" at the bottom left corner, the PC shall emit a bip (device found)

I have a hx2790b too.
1-After entering pre-bl mode (for this you must follow tommy-adsl's directions) your screen will fade to white.
2-Press calendar.. you won't see any screen change on 2790.
3-Put your 2790 on the cradle.. you will hear windows' beep (Windows XP) indicating that a usb connection is made. No change on 2790 screen.
4-Run hpruu on Win XP.. you must accept "I understand....". You will see the progress bar going up on XP screen. No change on 2790 screen.
5-When finished 2790 will try to boot then it will look like frozen.
6_Do hard reset (Follow tommy-adsl's directions)
I hope this info will help.

Hi.
What I observed on my hx2110 for many times.
After finished Flashing, at the "frozen screen" stage:
1.) Depress and hold buttons: Calendar(1) + Message (3) + Power + Reset for some seconds, until the screen comes on again. "Formatting ps" appears on left-bottom of screen.
2.) The Bar on center screen starts to run.
3.) If AC adapter is connected, the Charge amber-light should start blinking when the Bar almost gets to the end. It's Live !!!!!!
4.) JUST WAIT patiently....maybe few minutes, it will change to wm6.1 green Welcome screen.
5.) Again WAIT patiently for the first boot initialization.

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your efforts and for sharing with the community. Congratulations on your success.
Before a step that I mean dozens of hours in re-installations, I would like to make a few questions if you are very kind to answer:
I have a 2750 in Spanish with OS 2003 SE. Can I go straight to WM6.1 or do I with a flashing before WM5 ROM and then another WM6?
In the event of a malfunction could re-2003 SE?
As top wondering, is there some way to translate into Spanish?
Does install the software on the SD?
Thank you all.
Greetings

I can answer to those 2 questions as I have a HX2750 formerly under WinCE2003 French (close to Spanish ;))
1- YES you can go straight to WM6.1 no need to go through WM5 ...
2- YES you can easily come back to 2003SE using the HP downgrade utility but you will be in WinCE2003 english. You then have to get your original Spanish ROM, the equivalent WinCE2003 english, use the english HPRUU.exe utility and swap the ROMs before upgrading (not a complex process).
If you take care to backup everything before upgrade, you can even reinstall all your data without loss :)
I did all this stuff already 4 times ... and now I keep the Tommy's ROM !!!

Many, many thanks. :)
Those are the most important questions. I have more than 100 programs installed and I was horrified to think that something goes wrong and not being able to return to my stable and heavy 2003 SE
But can more curiosity in me so I try this ROM so graciously gave us the genius of tommy_adsl.
Well, I will put a candle to San Antonio and to prove.

you have to search for this file :

You just run it, and it brings you back to PPC2003SE english

As I sad, I found that your pda have 64MB ROM.
It will work ... Try it and you will see ...
Max you can downgrade back to wm2003se
Hi Tommy,
I am afraid that the IPAQ HP 2210 only has 32 MB of ROM
I have checked , re checked... and found on many sites that it has 32 MB...
I have even found this on xda-developpers : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337623&highlight=2210
So any advice for my poor 32 Mb ROM PDA ?
thanks again
