It sounds like a fairy-tale chime notifying you when you have a new Yahoo IM. My Wife loves this chime and wants to assign it to everything :)
Where do I find it or how do I extract it?
Thanks!

I'm not sure the exact sound you speak of, but you can go into Settings. . .Sounds and notifications .. .then under the event pull down find the application and it should tell you what sound it's playing. You can assign the sound to everything just go back through one by one. Hope this helps.
Oh and the file itself is in the /windows folder.

I've been through the event section and pulled it down but there is no IM event there; curious.
I listened to all the sounds in the dropdown and the IM noise was not one of them; yet this noise IS in the phone somewhere. I just can't find it.
Anyone have a solution to this enigma :)

uhh itd be pretty simple to just record it off your computer. Its the same sound if you load yim on your desktop. The sprite orgasm sound.
careful with that thing, i swear there was no warning that that program uses sms when i used it. 115 texts (few days) later i check my balance on the site.
!!!!!!!! still trying to get out of paying for them. heh

I ran into the same problem a couple months ago. I argued the fact that I had unlimited internet access and that I was told IM was part of the package by the representative that initially set-up my plan; the representative mis-informed me about the IM status.
Eventually, at&t waived a considerable amount of the bill and I purchased unlimited texting for our phones in order to avoid future exorbitant bills.
Thanks for the information and chime. I'll try it out later.

Not to get way off topic with the thread but I've been using IM+ by Shape Service and it actually uses data, not SMS. It's not free but it has a ton of features. It took me about a month to finally be ok with paying $40 for and instant messenger but really couldn't be happier now.
