Old Roms Found @ post 7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2104134&postcount=7
...I had totally forgotten this thread and these roms..
My advice: Don't use these:) They were my first cooking attempt and were "incomplete":)
Someone may want to try them, so I'll keep them available, but better flash (for daily use) some fresh and stable ROMs!
Let me keep this for future use..(I had an idea about a "Do_It_Yourself_WM6.1" ROM, but it needs some work!)

Hi Kokotas
Thank you for the ROM. Installed it on ELF and it works.
Memory After Flashing:
Free Storage Memory ~55MB
Free Program Memory ~23MB
To Vibranze
Where can I find details on your Vibranze WM6.1 Elfin ROM Version 3.0 & 3.1.
Installed 3.1 on my ELF and love it very much, stable and fast. The only thing that I wish is the Storage Memory can be greater than 44.45MB.
Thank you to both of you

Hey guys!
After playing with Extended Elf/Elfin Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365664)[Bepe] and HyperCore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335631)[Anichillus]
I managed to cook the following ROM (for personal use)!
Since now, everything (software & hardware) is working great,
so I decided to share with XDA!
hey kokotas.. good work :) do check my thread, just updated the latest post with info abt my new rom :)
u might wanna post some info on how did u combine both the kitchens if u want newbies to learn from u :D
would u have any idea abt how to remove the managed programs, domain enroll, encryption completely?

Hi,
I didn't post any details regarding my ROM because it's contained some commercial-ware. I will create another ROM with only open source or freeware if I got time.
My ROM is meant for Elfin and not for Elf so I can't help much to make the storage memory greater than 44.45MB coz the programs inside is what I need and use everyday.
Cheers,
Vibranze

Thanx for the info about the audio guys!
I haven't noticed it, probably because I haven't been to a noisy place(stuck inside home with a broken leg:()
Nevermind...I fixed it and the corrected ROM version is uploaded in 1st post!
Also, if you want to change the audio level yourself:
Find the reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN
You can change and try various values for the subkeys until you find the audio setup you like!
You have to change the following subkeys:
"EAC_GAIN_CARKIT"
"EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED"
"EAC_GAIN_HEADSET"

Also,
*At the bottom is a cab attached for those who flashed the v1.0 and don't want to go through the flashing process again.
**Another thing about the audio...
SRSWowHDArm is included in ROM and it's enabled!
Disable it and there you have the default sound level! See the difference?!
Enable it whenever you want and play with its options as it suits you!

Thank you for fast action... now I flashed your rom and the audio issue is OK now. I like your rom, it is fast and clean but there are essentials what I need.
I was satisfied with Blue Elves 5 but there are too many things cooked and it could slow down.

Thank you for trying it! Till now, it shows to be stable, hardware functional and the applications that I've used so far have no problems!
And to my surprize, the memory leak is not that bad for a WM6.1!
I hope it stays that way;), but if you notice anything strange, please feed back!

Thank you for your new updated ROM v.1.3. Eventhough this is for Elfin, I maybe crazy, still manage to flash to my Elf, and of course change the default 12MB PP to 8MB first (using the multi platform PP changer) before flashing. (Total Program Memory now is 47.65 same as the v.1.1, this is 8MB PP, right ? Pls advise as I maybe wrong)
Your ROM is always fast and stable.... thank you.

ii)Set overclock option to 208!
iii)Check overclock on wakeup!
iv)Check overclock after reboot!
v)Soft Reset!

Hi Kokotas
Yes.. I am crazy:D
Just reflashed again my Elf without any modification on the PP. It seems like the Multi Platform PP Changer is NOT working on your ROM but the final result is amazing... the total program memory is 47.65. (This is 8MB PP right? the 12MB PP usually show 43.71
Not sure why but maybe Elf will accept the 12MB PP ROM as 8MB PP ROM. Maybe someone else can confirm this.
I am happy with this ROM, clean, fast and stable. Well, maybe will reflash again once you release a new ROM:D

You are right! It has no effect on these new builds!
(This is 8MB PP right? the 12MB PP usually show 43.71
*The pagepool is DD! I mean that it is Default Dynamic,
so that we have 12MB PP for ELFIN and 8MB PP for ELF!

No cab unfortunately!
...well, you could overwrite some files in \Windows, but for every (ROM)file you "overwrite" you get equal RAM-memory loss.
Also, I've not seen AltTab before - I keep getting something up on screen, but have no idea what's activating it or how it works... help!
Normally, in a stock ROM, when you swip up on your screen
you activate Biotouch and the Cube comes up!
Because there is no Cube in these ROMs, I have changed the whole action (inspired from Noonski):
When you swip up on your screen, AltTab runs!
AltTab is an easy way of going from one open window to another!
If you don't like it, there is a way to disable it!
Go to HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings
Set EnableCube to 0

Just re-flashed with the blck version... all fine - worked out AltTab, needed Comm Manager, and applied my modded BatteryStatus theme (launches commmanager when you click on the clock, and shows mu IMAP mail acocunt as well as the ActiveSync one).
Have to say, I don't like WKtask and have disabled it... I reckon the best task manager and battery indicator is the one in SBSH iLauncher... but I don't need all the launcher bit any more.. WKtask is overkill on a 'lean' device, pbar is too fiddly... any other suggestions?

Does QuickMenu have TaskManager? Well,I think it does! It's free and very handy, but I don't like the fact that the menu "shrinks"! I like it more finger friendly;)
Also, you could try to enable the task manager of the B/S with a trick if you want to...but not sure!

I used the commmanager from tour first post, just installed the commmanager cab not the certs bit, works fine.
My modded batterystatus theme works wonderfully - I never used HTC home because the clock was too big, and I don't need a launcher. I use two mail accounts, an ActiveSync and an Imap, so need something that tells me the counts in both and accesses both seperately - the default messaging plugin was the only thing that worked until I tweaked the batterystatus theme. I like everything finger-friendly where posisble - I also have installed TodayAgenda and TomTom - working perfectly with GPS over bluetooth. I've installed iLauncher just for the battery bar and program manager - it's as clean and finger-friendly as I can find!
Screenshot attached - theme is GuavaBubbles slightly modded to make the horizontal lines less visible, and blackbars applied... the batterystatus theme is a mod of your original, with the voicemail gone and a second mail icon pointing to my IMAP account. I've also stuck commmanager behind a keypress the seconds display for ease of access...

Hi Kokotas
Among the three editions of the Light ROM, the BlackEdition is the best for ELF. Very much better memory management compare to V1.3. After 24hrs of usage, the free memory is always around 21MB.
Some info on Memory After Flashing:
Free Storage Memory ~56MB (62.88 / 6.38 / 56.50)
Free Program Memory ~24MB (47.65 / 23.59 / 24.06)
Thank you for the fast and stable ROM.

That's good news!
That's why I cooked this ROM!
It's almost a base ROM which can be modified in many ways from any user!:D And what do I do when I get bored(which is usually)with a setup??
HardReset and try some new stuff:cool:
(ps:Yes!No need for the certs in order to install the CommManager that I suggested in 1st post)

Hey ckpv5! My crazy tester:p I was indeed expecting better results with BlackEdition! Happy to hear that it came true!

@TangerineTractor:
Very nice setup you have there;)Never thought of red...
Update: Been running BlackEdition for 24 hours, no isuses at all - very fast and stable, no memory isuses, good battery performance too (also ran 1.3 all last weekend with no issues).
Additional software installed: TodayAgenda, TomTom 6.02, SBSH iLauncher (only for Task Manager and battery indicator), GPS Quick Position, iContact, and CommManager re-added.... memory staus below:

Hi kokotas!
You have done a great job for me with this clean ROM... it works excellent. I love the black skins especially dialer because black and white is the most visible in daylight.
I just wonder if you could release a ROM for Elfins with more pagepool than 8MB. I tried out the 24MB PP ROM from Pdaviet (or somewhere) and it runs fast but again... there are a lot of features cooked which I do not use (remember I told you that Blue Elves had the same issue for me)
Thank you for your great job again!
With best regards

Hi there
I have a big problem with this version. ActiveSync keeps screwing up on my Vista 64 bit. Normally it works perfect, but after installing this, it keeps getting screwed and then I have to reboot the phone a few times to get it working. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi dredd! Maybe I'll try to make a bigger size PagePool, but I think that 8MB is quite balanced!

In BlackEdition I have (partial) removed SQM, the System Quality Metrics application from Microsoft, in charge of sending customer feedback from your phone back to Microsoft. Probably that is the reason for your sync-problems (also having in mind that Vista have a "MSSnitch" inside)! There is no issue with WinXP!
Has anybody else with WinVista experienced same problems? Please feedback!
*If it is a bad flash, then you should check and do the following:
1.Download again the ROM.
2.Plug into a different usb port the usb cable.
3.Flash again the ROM(with the SIMµSD cards removed)
If you still have the same problem, you should better try another ROM (or check your PMs)!

perhaps SRS_WOWHD_ARM.cab from post#1 is the smartphone version?

If yours looks like mine
then I'm afraid that the PP changer didn't work!
It's impossible for a 8MB_PP_ROM to have the same ProgMemory with a 16MB_PP_ROM!
Where did those 8MB go to or come from? However that would be cool! ;)

Well, here is the case:
I don't have a PC with Vista so even if I change something in the ROM I can't test it before I give it to you! And that's not right for me!
However, (maybe) another member (with Vista PC) is going to try another blackedition and we'll see if it is fixed!

This confirms that the pagepool isn't changed by the tool (it will say so, but it looks at the wrong offset). Still 8 mb. Too bad it isn't simply changing the offset of the tools for newer roms.

I quote "captkkk".... it does indeed seem that Page Pool Changer had no influence to your LightRom pagepool (however I also experienced some enhancements in speed).
Now we have you as our only hope/chance to have 16MB pagepool version of your Black Rom for our poor Elfins....:rolleyes::)

Wow, this is the first time I actually load a new ROM on my phone and that thing is super fast. I love it !
Two things though:
How come the graphics on the top left (next to the start) are always messed up? And is of different color (grey, as opposed to black). It's really bothering me for some reason.
And why is the scrolling (programs, settings) not smooth?
Aside from that I'm very very satisfied. Great work!
EDIT:
Okay I have figured out how to make it the same color, though there is still a horizontal line right above start

That's all I remember:cool:

I have noticed that Touchpal (I installed it) becomes very laggy after a couple of hours of use and is solved by a soft reset. Then again, I noticed others complaining about the same thing with the HTC keyboard on Shadows ROM.
Could it be the threaded SMS that is causing this? I never had this problem with Windows 6.

I think there is a way to find out if the threaded SMS are causing any lag when typing any messages. Here is the thread you should check out:

Yeah it seems to be threaded SMS that is causing the lag for some odd reason. I disabled threaded SMS through the registry and now its working fine.
Too bad as I really liked the idea of threaded SMS. Some of you might not notice the lag, but I send about 2000+ messages per month and I type extremely fast so therefore I really notice if the input can't keep up when I type, especially when it's touchpal.
To disable threaded SMS:

You know what? I really didn't notice it until you bought that up. Despite that I'm going to have to live with it like that as messaging is very important to me and I can't deal with it being laggy. This way, I will rely (sp?) on my little orange LED :)

""the phone screen does not come back on from sleep when I press the power button"" -
based on my experience with any ROM, using the WkTASK setting, the Brightness should be at level 4 maximum... more than that, the problem "the phone screen does not come back on from sleep" will occur.

Hey Kokotas,
I have a quick question for you. Every once in a while, when I select my start menu, about 20 items drop down. I like it and it looks good. Then they somehow disappear alone.
When I try to add more in the start menu through the settings/menu, it tells me no more than 7 items could be selected.
How can I go about adding more as it sometimes happens alone?

""the phone screen does not come back on from sleep when I press the power button"" -
based on my experience with any ROM, using the WkTASK setting, the Brightness should be at level 4 maximum... more than that, the problem "the phone screen does not come back on from sleep" will occur.
Rgds
Well I have now done a hard reset and it's working fine again. So I think I'll leave screen brightness alone !

Hi
In the Settings on Personal tab you find Large Start Menu... uncheck the box and you'll get your fav orig start menu :)

Well, I guess that's a bug of the start menu! Have you tried enabling\disabling the EnlargeStartMenu? Till now, I have only noticed that if you have no items at all in the start menu, then it doesn't respond to finger taps! So there is a minimum of items=2.
When I try to add more in the start menu through the settings/menu, it tells me no more than 7 items could be selected. How can I go about adding more as it sometimes happens alone?
Try adding some shortcuts manually under "\windows\start menu\" with an explorer like TotalCommander or Resco Explorer or GSFinder.
See if there you could add more than 7...
Well I have now done a hard reset and it's working fine again. So I think I'll leave screen brightness alone!
Good to hear that it's working fine again, but you should set the correct brightness settings in WkTask:
the Brightness should be at level 4 maximum...

So when I disabled "Enabled large start menu" it seems to work :) Hopefully it stays that way. I love this ROM, it's super fast. One last question though, my programs still lags when scrolling up/down after many soft resets. On the other hand, my settings/system scroll very smoothly
You think a hard reset would solve this issue?

My experience is that the programs folder is almost always laggy in all MS devices when you install some extra progs. I used Universal and that was same. Maybe the prog icons load slow.

Hi Dave!
Have you try to hard reset and then check if the camera is working?
Some hints:
1.Under StartMenu\Settings\Personal\Buttons set the button to point to CamShoot(NOT Camera) in order to have the side button for camera.
2.Under StartMenu\Programs you should find a Camera.lnk!
Isn't that working?
3.The HTC Album has nothing to do with the camera.
Unless you want to assing the album-key(bottom left on sceen when camera is launched) of the camera to HTCAlbum instead of pimg.exe.
You could try something in the registry. I haven't done that, but I think it should work!
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCAMERA
"1"="pimg.exe -camerakey"
Change pimg.exe => HTCAlbum.exe and when you press that key you'll have HTCAlbum opening instead of the default pimg.exe

My Rogers ROM was actually smooth. Anyway, I will remove some icons I don't use and see what happens. If that does not work I will try a hard reset. Messing around with my phone is becoming an addiction :D

I've been using the v1.3 rom for a few days, and its proved very fast, stable and functional. (would like to use black rom but i have vista on the pc...)
But, has anybody else noticed that not only you cannot change the volume on the headset using the sliders as noted before, but also you cannot change the ringer volume, which is probably too low??? any solution for that????

that would require a reboot every time that you would want to change a volume though, right??
and which value is which???
carkit for the bluetooth???
embedded for the volume during a call???
headset for the for a headset???
and which one is for the ringer????

No, you got it wrong!
It requires a reboot after changing the registry,
but when you've set the right_for_you audio max level,
then you don't have to reboot each time you want to change something!
Use the volume_sliders by tapping the volume icon of the top bar!
Don't be afraid to play with those (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN) reg_entries!
carkit for the bluetooth???
embedded for the volume during a call???
headset for the for a headset???
You can't harm your phone, but if you want to feel more safe, make a RegistryBackup!If you change those you'll see that the ringer level is also changed!
greetings from Thessaloniki!!

been playing around with the registry keys for the sound, and managed to have nice volumes with the following exception:
When I hear music through a headset attached to the mobile and he phone rings the ring volume (in the headset) is extremely loud! if I lower the eac_gain_headset value then the music is tto low, and also the ringer volume of the device goes down!
Also, the volume setting slider slider can adjust the volume on the headset, but not the ringer volume of the device as it should.
Does anyone have any definite idea what each key does, and what is the difference of the eac keys and the codec keys, and also the uplink volumes????
(maybe i'm getting off topic and should ask in another section of the forum - sorry for that..)

Hi Kokotas
It's been awhile since your last update. Hv flashed the 4MB PP test ROM on my Elf, it's working fine at the moment but the PP still shows as 8MB not 4MB. Is it because I flashed it on Elf?
Memory After Flashing:
Free Storage Memory - 59.72MB
Free Program Memory - 24.56MB
I maybe wrong, what I notice is whenever the Net CF 3.5 is in the ROM, the PP cannot be change to 4MB but any WM6.1 with NetCF 2.0, the PP can be change to 4MB or 6MB.
As usual, your ROM is always fast.

Memory After Flashing:

That's strange!
In my Elfin I get:
For 4MB_PP - > Total (Prog) memory : 115.68 MB
For 18MB_PP - > Total (Prog) memory : 101.68 MB
Even by doing the math: {4 + (115.68-101.68) = 18} you see that it is correct!
Anyway, thank you very much for testing ckpv5!:)
Did you have the chance to test Sync with VistaPC?
If you see anything else, please feedback!

Hello my friend back!!!
Good to see you are here again!
The 18MB PP version is already waiting on my D drive but now I am testing the pdamobiz test2 diamond version... which is very impressive but has a few bug... wifi does not work, some programs are not willing to be installed...
Sooner or later I flash your 18MB PP version... have you killed the biotouch.exe error message?
With best regards

Hey Dredd! Yeah!I got back my touch:D
But I'm having exams at the university and I don't have much free time for now!
... have you killed the biotouch.exe error message?
Well, I have a 0byte Biotouch.exe inside the ROM which does nothing
plus I have set
HKLM>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings
EnableCube => 0
I didn't remove it, because in this way you can use any "Application.exe" renamed to "Biotouch.exe" or you can use vjbrisk(like here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372657)) which is cooked in the ROM.
What does UC2.0 capable stands for?
UC2.0=User Customization 2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337)
Basically, it's a way of installing cabs, entering RegEntries, moving/deleting files in AUTO mode using your SD card! But if you don't want to follow that way you just let the phone boot and reset without doing nothing!
Regards!

Hi Kokotas
Think that because I flashed on Elf and that is why the PP shows as 8MB.
But is not a big deal to me as I always prefer 8MB. In fact in this ROM, just completed all the usual softwares installation, still hv around 22-23MB free program memory.
And yes, Sync with Vista PC is still a problem for this test ROM. Only the first time it is ok. After disconnected, it can't be re-connected. Still not a big deal to me.. my desktop is still XP.

If you are talking about the black edition from 1st post...I don't know what went wrong in your case, but I didn't face any of the above problems!
Only advice is to do a HardReset and reflash without any cards inserted!
If you are talking about the test versions, thanks for the feedback. I'm still testing some stuff myself and had a kind of a freeze when I used my old 1GB microSD! Till now no problems with BatteryStatus or memory leak!

memory leakage isn't so important - running on 16-17mb is enough...
it's quite disapointing with this turning on feature, becouse it really is the best rom i've ever use so far ! of course i'm using black edition from the first post, downloaded about 2weeks ago.
I just realise that i'm erase SIP change and startmenu from autostart (ooops) - now it's back and we'll see is it change anything ;)
oh... and just one thing
in batterystatus proc is from 121 to 286mhz but when i'm opening a windows folder it takes a looong seconds when it's done - maybe it sounds ridicilous but comparing to other roms it's seriously slow :(

Hi Kokotas
Found two problems on my Elf so far.
a) There is no Contact softkey in the Dialpad. But pressing the spot will bring up the icontact. The wording "Contact" is missing.
b) Unable to create New Text Msg (SMS). In normal mode is worse, no reply and no new msg. at least in the threaded SMS, still can reply SMS.
**SOLVED - reinstalled SMS Tweaker, new sms can be created either in Normal Mode or Threaded Mode, same goes when click SMS in the iContact, now it goes into New SMS creation screen.
Is it this time your test ROM is not compatible for Elf??!!

a)I had just removed the word-it's blank,but the "button" is still there!I thought that it's not really useful having contacts there since you have smartdialing!

Hi Kokotas
Re the item (a).. yes.. just notice that on the screenshot on the first page.
No problem at all... as long as pressing the blank space will brings up the iContact, I am happy as I really like to dial a number thru the iContact rather than the smartdialing. It's more convenience to me.. anyway it is a personal preference.
I'm facing problem with AdvancedConfig. When I want to browse the Storage Card to select a location, error will pop up. It says "Please install NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab". Will check if my Storage Card is corrupted. Will you recheck the NetCF ?

My advice...Download once again the ROM and follow the steps bellow(from First Post):
$Links$:
1.Capture ELF/ELFIN Device ID and CID ID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2053472&posted=1#post2053472)
2.Elf_Howto Dump Rom (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_HowtoDumpRom) , Tools for doing that;) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2120814&postcount=66)
3.Help collecting Elf/Elfin Original Roms Model Id & Cid Ids (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379034)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Some instructions:
1.CID Unlock your phone! Look here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1402844&postcount=1) if you have SPL-1.1X.0000 and here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2029798&postcount=32) if you have SPL-2.2X.0000.
DO NOT CONTINUE, UNLESS YOU CHECK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2165086&postcount=54) THAT THE CID_UNLOCKER WORKED!
2.After removing SIM & microSD cards, connect to PC & enter Bootloader (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_Resets)!
3.Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe & wait to finish!
That's it!
In this way you'll have a back-up of your original ROM
and
you could safely proceed (after CID unlocking) with flashing any custom ROM, not just mine!
Hi!
I know that you're facing a big problem and you don't need me telling you
"What were you thinking, flashing your ARTEMIS with a ROM for another device.."
but there is a big chance that you killed your pda!
I guess (wish) that you had CID unlocked your phone before flashing
and that you're able to enter bootloader.
So check here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306904) and basically ask in Artemis upgrading (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=318) for further assistance to your problem.
Regards!
ps:I had totally forgotten this thread and these roms..
