Hi guys - quick question. I downloaded Google Maps today - and it mentioned there would be data charges. I had contacted Rogers to put a ban on my data usage to avoid data charges.

If i deleted the setups in GPRS, and have the ban from the Rogers Network side - will a charge still be incurred when I run the Google Maps?

Just curious.. I'd hate to get a mega bill at the end of the month!

Thanks all

Depends. If your using the wifi on your phone then you won't have any problems. If your using a data plan with your phone, then you will use the data plan. If you have data blocked and deleted the GPRS settings then there should be no problem. But, Google Maps only works if there is a connection, so it would be pointless to have it if you don't have an internet connection of some sort.

If you've done all the things you say you've done, then you will likely NOT incur any data charges.

That said, Google maps is useless without a data connection.

As a side note, try using Windows Live Maps Mobile (or whatever it's called). It still needs a data connection, but it's pretty slick. You can actually "speak" your search terms and it figures it out.
