Hello!
I would like to relock my Wizard but I don't have the backup of my original CID-Block. Is there a way to relock it?
I have a german G3 Wizard from Vodafone.
Info from Wizard Service Tool: "Key Index: 44"
Please help!
Thank you!

WST allows to CID lock the CID block to any value you'd like; even your own name :D
You must get the value of your service provider and type it in the text box after selecting the "Write Custom CID" option of "CID Actions" button.
But the most important of all is that the IPL/SPL must be 1.xx!!!
Please report back. tx

Thank you very much! Great info!
I knew about IPL/SPL in version 1.xx to change the CID-block! It's like unlocking the Wizard.
Last question:
What is the correct value for my service provider? It is Vodafone DE. Can I find it with a hex-editor in the original Vodafone ROM?
Thanl you!

Check this post where i uploaded a file with a list of CID values that i extracted from somewhere (RUU file or some ROM area, can't recall)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1112604&postcount=8
There are at least 3 mentions of Vodafone Germany so i guess you must look somewhere else (also) and cross information. Perhaps ask someone with CID locked G4 device from same provider to read the CID with WST and let you know
that's all i can do.

A friend of mine has a locked G4 Wizard from Vodafone DE. I will try that! Thank you for your help and your great tool!!!
From your list it could be one of these:
VODAPH01.................German
WIZVDF12.................GER
VODA0501.................GER
One more question to see if I understand it. An other solution could be:
1. Flashing an 1.xx ROM
2. Use WST to change the CID to "VODAPH01" for example
3. Try to flash the original Vodafone ROM
4. If it works: BINGO! Found the right one
5. If I cannot flash the original ROM back to step 2
This should work right?
I am going to read the CID of my friends G4 Wizard and do step 1 to 3 with the right value.
I am so happy! Thanks!

OK, that was very strange!
The CID of a german Vodafone Wizard100 called VPAcompactII is: WIZVDF12
I flashed the Button's ROM for CID relock.
First I tried to write the new (old) CID with WST v4.2.1 (shame on me). I got the error message that it could not be written because of the G4 SPL.
I could write the CID-block to disk but I could not write it to my Wizard. I was already thinking that I would have to try it with "lockwiz". But finaly I checked the version number and downloaded the new 4.2.2 version.
Second try and everythink looked nice! I could flash the new (old) CID and reading the CID-block showed me that my Wizard is now CID-locked again with the CID WIZVDF12. Very nice!
Than I tried to flash the original Vodafone WM5 AKKU2 ROM. Everything looked good but than my Wizard entered the bootloader. The SPL should have been 1.01 but now it was 1.01.0000!
Just a small shock. Flashing worked fine and now I have CID-locked VPAcompactII with original ROM IPL/SPL 2.21 and everything is fine! :)
Thank you so much!!!
I thing I noticed: With the Button's ROM 1.xx your WST could not tell the CPU Manufacturer. Now with the Vodafone ROM everything works again and it tells me:
CPU: Texas Instruments - OMAP850
:)

All right! :D
The different CID value must be from the other file being from an old RUU i guess, but I'm so glad it worked out fine in the end.
The issue with the v4.2.1 is natural as the SPL check routine was a bit messy and the 1.xx failing to get info is also natural as the addresses where info is collected differ and most people use 2.xx and higher nowadays ;)
cheers
PS:
Don't forget that you can't flash custom ROMs now :p
