In the interest of making it simpler for you all to find my stuff easier I am making this thread.. also then I can fit more into my signature!

What do you use to do the skin? I'm using i780 (320x320) and would like to see if I can modify the screen larger. Someone with the i780 was reporting having issues having the font too small.

P/S: I know i780 comes with a qwerty keyboard, but sometimes a combination of keyboard and tapping on the screen is a lethal combination.

I use photoshop for the images and notepad for the settings file

turn the .skin file into a .zip file and you will find all the files you need to change!

I dont get that... thats very odd.. maybe try a soft reset?

did you do this:
unzip contents of .zip onto desktop
move over to PCMKeyboard folder on device
select layout and skin in options?

I cant change how it looks in landscape mode (that is just how the keyboard software handles landscape)

In order to have capital letters I had to be able to hide the letters that the keyboard draws underneath the images, which meant I had to make the capital letters a square image to cover it.

The only problem is that the way the keyboard handles landscape, it uses the tile effect, meaning the white of the capital letters doesnt match..

cant really do anything about that..

I downloaded the the iphone keyboard not the big one but the regular one. In your photo I see the space bar with a comma to the left and a period to the right. the one I downloaded from this page does not have this the space bar is wider. also the number page is compleatly different. Do you have the original keyboard skinn the you have the screen shot of?

well if you want a version with no cps you can actully just do this:
change the extension of the .skin to .exe and find the settings file inside. Open it with notepad. Find the lines that say for example =a,a.png and =b,b.png and so on until =z,z.png and simply delete them. Then you will have lower case

to be truthful.. i really want to do one, that thing is sweet..

i just dont hvae any time any more. I started one a while back, got about 1/4 the way through it, and then just had to stop cuz I had no more time.

its a shame! my phone must stay how it is now, I am just glad I finished my wm7 theme before I got too busy cuz I like the way that turned out.

I would not mind if someone else took my graphics and turned it into a 2d theme.. that is fine by me.

Hey guys! newbie here! How do I add the iphone skin to my PCM keyboard? I have the v0.14 version installed but when I download the above links to my phone it opens them via ZIP but all I get is error messages.

Here are the screenshots. Sorry to post them here in your thread, but like I explained, my situation doesn't really allow much else atm.

Then the forum was complaining the images were too high resolution, so I downscaled them, then it said that the size of the files was too large, so I decided ah screw it and zipped em up.

I'll try and delete this post after you dl the shots.

The problem with most other keyboards is the lack of support for DPAD navigation, as it's absent from the Touch HD.

The defaults for both pcm .28 as well as pcmk .21 seem to work just fine on my HD

Anyway, does the standard pocketcm keyboard (v .21) not render right on your screen?

Check out the pcmk .21 thread! zard just made a virtual dpad and tells you how you need to edit your settings.ini and qwerty.ini to have it show up. Pretty slick... (this would be for the default theme of course)

I am using my HD and just using the standard default dream2.zip theme and everything looks great...I just set the keyboard height to 41 to help.

Ok I'll do it now but...I'm confused how you're confused?

There are NO settings to set lol.

Just download .21, install it. Wala. That's it.

What version are you on?

EDIT: Theme uploaded. It is just the stock default theme that installs when you install pocketcm keyboard...(w/ a few tweaks I like).

i suggest you use v.14

also.. zips dont work with v14

you have to take the .skin file and .layout file out of the zip, then place it in your pcmkeyboard folder

Silly me - no, I use the latest version: 0.22 (only downloaded it yesterday). Do I still need to unzip your skin files before copying them?

Hi man,

The font of the iphone skin on my phone don't look rather sharp as compared to those of your screenshots. Enabling ClearType seems to fix this though, but i don't really like the idea of it (ClearType) affecting other applications too. Is there some other workaround?

I know I'm bumping a super old post, but is there a reason the space bar is so damn slow? I love the iPhone skin, but I end up typing sentences like "The og umped ver he uick rown ox". The other letters and symbols can keep up, but when you hit the space bar there is this 2-3 second pause and a little underscore looking symbol that signifies the space being added. Is this something I can help? Thanks in advance!
