I am unable to save a new "outlook" contact. I keep receiving the error message "An unexpected error has occurred in this program". I only fill in the fields "name", "mobile phone#" and/or "email". Has anyone else experienced this?

after backing up my contacts and doing a Hard reset, without installing anything was still un-able to save a new contact. I can beam a contact from another phone and it will save that way but manually entering contact info consistently brings me up the error message below. Attached a pic for reference.

Adding a "Sim contact" works though Sim manager but when I select "Save to Contacts" I get the message:

Contacts successfully added:
- 0 new item(s)
- 1 item(s) already exists

but does not show up in my Contacts or PocketCM. Is there a reg hack or am I being a noob and missing something again??

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

btw - I'm on official WM06 rom until Shap's comes out with his 6.1 rom.

well this will sound silly...is there a way to re-install the WM6 "phone contacts" part of the rom?

well this will sound silly...is there a way to re-install the WM6 "phone contacts" part of the rom?Just a guess here, but since you've been waiting a while with no suggestions, how about this:

1) For any of your apps that allow it, backup/export the settings to your storage card
2) Back up your phone with one of the backup programs out there. DON'T INCLUDE THE STORAGE CARD!
3) Sync your contacts, calendar and tasks (and maybe email, although I never found a reason to) using ActiveSync.
4) Do a Hard reset. This should put your Contacts program back to it's virgin state (as well as the rest of the ROM).
5) Restore your old installation from the backup
6) ReSync with ActiveSync
7) Test to see if the problem still exists. If it does, then:

8) Hard reset again
9) Go to Settings->System->About->DeviceID and re-enter your old device name
10) At ActiveSync, on the desktop/laptop, delete the mobile device partnership
11) Re-Sync the device using ActiveSync
12) Re-install your apps one at a time. For each one, restore/import any settings that you might have saved to the storage card. After each reinstall, check to see if your Contacts problem has come back (hopefully not). If it DOES, go back to step 8 and start over, but don't try to reinstall the program and/or settings that made the Contacts application fail.

Hopefully, this will get you back to a fully working device.

Good luck,
