View Full Version : Wizard Screen Problem: Help Needed

I've got my Wizard G4 a few days ago, and ever since, when it's not been used for a while, and is freshly turned on (mainly when there is a lot of black/white contrast on the screen, such as text etc), it would at first display the correct text, then 'fade' to the brightly colored patterns show in the thumbnails below. Interestingly this ONLY happens when the keyboard is 'in', this has never happened when its drawn out. I at first thought this was a software problem, however after flashing first the Slim Edition v2.2 ROM, and the latest TNT ROM the situation didn't improve.

Consequently, I am inclined to think this is a hardware issue, perhaps some bad contacts or something? I have tried to research this but have found nothing much apart from the Wizard Service Manual (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333715).

Has anyone encountered, or better still, solved this problem? I'll have a go at repairing the contacts, but would still like your experiences/advice as well.

Thanks in advance!

Nice pictures. You have problems with the cable connecting the screen and the main board. We should buy a new and changing.

Thanks, I'll have a look first, hopefully its just loose, cos similar ones look pretty expensive on eBay... Any chance you could suggest a source?

Thanks
