Greetings everyone,

I have a Kaiser, that I would like to get insured, since I am with Tmobile US, and they do not offer this phone at the moment. Does anyone know any private company who will do insurance on it?

I have contacted Asurion Insurance company and they do not insure cell phones that are not purchased from cell phone carriers such as Tmobile and ATT.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

OK smart ass! Warranty doesn't cover theft, loss, or physical damage.

I would check with SquareTrade.com. I got a 3 year warranty on my Tilt for $35.99.

What did you put in for a price on your tilt? I did mine for the retail at at&t and the insurance came to $65.99 and it will cost an additional 71.00 for the accidental damage insurance.

Do you know anyone who has made a claim with them? Insurance is great but if you have to jump through hoops to make a claim.

I put the price in as $299 since I have connections and can get a new Tilt for that price if necessary. I haven't made a cell phone claim with them yet, but I just went though getting my laser printer replaced and the process was quite painless.

LOL - I get Insurance free here in the UK on Orange.
Last year I got thro' 4 Trinity's!
The year before I had 7 C600's.
Most insurance replacements we're for faulty keypads granted - but I did drop quite a few in buckets of water/plaster as well. Without insurance I wouldn't have a phone.

Who do you know to get a tilt for 199.99? I'll take two! :D

From what I understand coverage for loss or negligence ( which is up to interpretation ) is NOT covered!

"If Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) Protection was purchased, the Service Agreement expands to include damage from liquid spills, item drops, or any other accidental damage. ADH coverage begins 30 days after purchase, and does not cover willful damage, negligent use, theft or loss. A $50 deductible applies on ADH-related claims. ADH is not offered on all items."

Another vote for Squaretrade here. When I picked my Tilt up on ebay I had no qualms about also getting the warranty from squaretrade, I've heard way too much positive things about them.

Yay. I went to site and signed up for insurance. Added the accidental damage and went to that coupon site. Grabbed the 30 percent one since the 40 didnt work. Paid 45 bucks for piece of mind. Thanks man.

I am looking for Insurance not extended warranty. Insurance that will cover, theft, loss and etc. Squaretrade does not cover theft, and loss. It offers extended warranty.
Correct me if I am wrong!

Hey, I bought a policy with state farm for my apache for about $50 a year. Its a personal item policy and not linked with home owners insurance.

For me theft isn't a main concern, just loss or damage. I think the ability to kill the phone with the carrier is enough to deter theft.

Yeah I'm not worried about theft or loss b/c this phone is glued to me. That Ultimate Theft program makes no use if the person has no balls to get his phone back from the said location. I know that personally if someone tried to take my phone they'd have their arms broken in 16 1/2 differnt places and pimp slapped with my foot. I just need this for the occasional drop and stuff.

Glad I read this. I signed up with Squaretrade as well. I could only insure it for $199.99 as that is what I paid with a 2 year contract with AT&T. I had to call since it is obviously worth more but they said they can only pay out what I paid. Oh well. For 15.00 (no accidental) I get piece of mind for 3 years if I flash it bad. I also picked up one of their warranties for the Tivohd.

I don't think they can "kill" it... Stolen devices are just blocked within the country....pluss there's an option of changing the IMEI....I think this was even mentioned somewhere on this forum...

AT&T must use an international database for disabling IMEIs. I tested this by calling AT&T and reporting my brother's Razr as lost, and then putting my friend's Australian SIM. Within 30 minutes the phone shut down and stopped working. I let him sit for a few hours before I called AT&T and said I "found" his phone. His fault for owning a Razr... :p

Changing the IMEI is highly illegal, and most "common" thieves would have no idea how to do this.

At least available in the USA coverage for the Kaiser/Tilt is available from www.safeware.com. I've insured my Hermes and now my Kaiser for $66 per year ($550 coverage). The coverage is with 0 deductible and is an actual insurance policy covering theft and damage among other things. I've seen a couple of posted reviews on other forums of members that have had to make a claim and had a satisfactory experience. The only thing I've noticed that has to be done is you may have to call safeware to get a quote as the online quoting doesn't include PDAs.

I am not getting less than $79 plus $50 for deductible, did you sign up with business or something?

bro read the first couple of post. Some dude put a link for a coupon site. Attach a 30 percent off coupon. It'll knock off the price of the insurance

I'm using http://wirelesssafeguard.com/

Never had to make a claim. I paid $120 for two years of coverage. This covers theft, loss, damage due to fault of owner, or defects.

I've never made a claim so I cannot attest to their service etc. I wasn't able to find anyone on the 'net who said it was a ripoff however.

If anyone has used them and made a claim, let us know.

some banks offer mobile phone protection / insurance (pda's included in some) with their premium accounts along with many other benefits - may be worth checking it out?
