Alltel: Was not working when I first had an alltel user test. Should be fixed, but not tested.
Bell: MMS server included in carrier config but untested
Cricket: Works for sending. Cricket proxy config causes a problem with recieving. I am trying to fix this. (thanks crwinger)
Iusacell: no MMS configuration included in carrier package.
Qwest: no MMS configuration included in carrier package.

BUGS REPORTED:
1.Windows Mobile themes (.tsk files) do not install when you click on them. They have to be moved to windows directory manually.
When the "Receive all incoming beams" was checked in the stock ROM, my WinXP notebook would sometimes even "see" the Titan when the Titan was asleep. Turned on, with the stock ROM, IR beaming of individual files in both directions worked fine.
Yup, DCD, it is an OEM of jeodek. Its directory has just been misnamed. If you check the exe and help files they also confirm that it's jeodek rather than jbed.
Well, I'm using a Bell 6800...tried sending MMS, and didn't work as usual.
(alltel mms) Tried all 3 patches and still no wont send or recieve messages...
I just fixed IR on my 6800. DCD 3.0.(X)

I think they probably are around somewhere, or you could cab them easily yourself. I saw a post from a moderator elsewhere regarding VC: he asked that we do not cab and release it until an official carrier rom is released containing it. Since WM6.1 is not officially public yet, I dont want to piss anybody off by posting cabs.

are you sure you have both of the dependencies listed in post 1 installed? honestly i doubt the download is corrupt. you probably need .net framework or visual c++ 2008 runtimes.

So far VZW users have only required re-authentication via A-Key when upgrading the radio. Since this radio is still the same, Authentication should not be required.

Ok to Add to the issue. I keep getting propted for a username and password for my data connection for Telus. I am flashing to the Telus to the 3.0.1 ROM to see if I can get my data to work again. (Using the Telus pre made ROM) Will go from there.

Yeppers - As macaberry has said, No A-key is needed until you flash a different radio.... I've flashed maybe 120 times for testing purposes of my own and haven't had any issues with an A-key....

Hey DCD...I have been using your 3.0.0 rom on my Alltel device for couple months now and everything is great. I know this is subjective but will I see major changes by upgrading to 3.0.4?? I don't do texting or MMS or whatever that is. If you need additional feedback from an Alltel user I'd be happy to flash your new rom and let you know but right now things are darn near perfect! Just curious what you think.

Impressive on getting the new arcsoft working. works perfect on VZSW. very nice work. Not sure if im sold on it yet. takes a couple taps to get to my pix msg when i get one so a little annoying, but time will tell. Now if the pix showed up in the actual threaded msg, now that would be awesome . Nice work though as usual!

So I have tested this ROM for a couple of hours so far and:


The new SMS integration with MMS is cool
I havent tested IR, but I hope it works
I dont know if it is just me, but it feels as if there is a small memory leak. I have the same apps installed that I used on 3.0.0 and I get a small memory leak that I hope doesnt get anoying
I don't know if it is me again, but I can't update my PRL via Verizon over the air programming. Might be on Verizons side, but I can't program my phone.
It does seem abit fast, but the my RAM is decreasing fast.


I'll see how things go for the day.( If all goes well I'm staying @ 3.0.4, if not then back to reliable 3.0.0) It would be great to see more feedback from others.

Has it been determined what the Enterprise package does? I don't want to install anything uneeded so I'd like to be sure. I use OpenVPN and connect to a secured WLAN and just don't want to shoot myself in the foot by not including it.

Hmm im not sure if it is that. I cooked several ROMS last night and to make sure I had an updated PRL i dialed the **228 to see if I can update my PRL over the air on Verizons network. I did this but the operator keeps saying that my they are unable to program my phone at this time.

I have Alltel also. I will recieve the notice of a MMS but it will not let me download. It says Error: Proxy Authentication Required. When I send something it just stays in the draft box. I have look at the registry and I dont see anything significantly different. The only thing I noticed was default was Connection Via "The Internet" and Alltel is Connection Via "Alltel Wireless". I tried both and still nothing. I did a soft reset on each change just to make sure the change took. I attached some screenshots less the phone number.

Ok I fixed my issue ith Telus and loading the ROM up. It had to do with I loaded the Srint ROM first and let it complete and didnt interupt the setup. So it screwed with my login credetials for Telus for the Data So I spent most of the morning on the phone with Telus manualy changing the settings back so I can get my data working. Once they gave me the unlock code we inputed the right stuff and I was all set. So now I'm just replacing all the data agin from my corporate network and I will be good to go. Let you all know how the rest of the rom is.

OBEX / IR still doesnt work ( it got worse, It freezes like it did back on 2.0.0)
WiFi turns on automatically (at times) on fresh bootup
No new functionalities other then the new Arcsoft

I'm getting ready for my third trip to DCD Kitchen land (v2.x, v3.0.0 and now v3.0.4) now that the latest version has been out a day or so. All have worked great but definitely take a bit of work afterwards to get things tweaked again (ActiveSync just gets the data back, but not all the other CABs and settings tweaks). This time around, I'd like to try taking advantage of UCConfig to optimize and speed up the process and can see how it's used to load apps. I have no idea, however, how people are figuring out what registry tweaks to include to correspond to specific settings normally accessed through the WM UI. Is there an SDConfig builder out there for this (sort of a UCConfig kitchen)? Perhaps somehow has a comprehensive such file that I could take and modify?

The filesystem cache is a little larger, so it takes up a tiny bit more ram, but that is offset by a similar amount of more ram available than there was in 3.0.0.

not ROM related, this is a programming issue, i suspect you cant update with 3.0.0 either until its resolved.

The only difference in services between 3.0.0 and 3.0.4 is the removal of quickgps, which installed a service in 3.0.0.

it is working for me, but the on/off selection does not work quite right. it should be the same as 3.0.0 at worst.

1. Export entire PPC registry (I use resco)
2. Make desired change(s)
3. Export entire PPC registry
4. Compare before and after registry exports on my PC (i use WinMerge)
5. Copy desired registry keys/values to .reg/.rgu

What's the consensus on memory usage on 3.0.4? I loved the memory usage on 3.0.1. I currently have NeuROM 5060 installed, just to try it out and with the same apps loaded (my minimal must have apps) I get out of memory problems all the time. After about 30 minutes of use I'm usually down to 8mb or so. Is this the same with 3.0.4 since the file cache is bigger like with NeuRom's (filesys.exe takes about 5-8MB on NeuROM, while on DCD 3.0.1 it took 3-5MB).

Because of memory problems, NeuROM is pretty much unusable, if the memory usage on DCD 3.0.4 is similar I'll revert back to 3.0.1.

What's the consensus on memory usage on 3.0.4? I loved the memory usage on 3.0.1. I currently have NeuROM 5060 installed, just to try it out and with the same apps loaded (my minimal must have apps) I get out of memory problems all the time. After about 30 minutes of use I'm usually down to 8mb or so. Is this the same with 3.0.4 since the file cache is bigger like with NeuRom's (filesys.exe takes about 5-8MB on NeuROM, while on DCD 3.0.1 it took 3-5MB).

Filesys.exe takes more than 3-5mb for me. However, it did on 3.0.1 for me as well.

The last I looked at nueROM, it had much bigger cachesize values than mine. (2mb vs 512k if i recall) But I have not looked at 5060.

Trying to confirm something:

IR worked since 3.0.0? I know OBEX over bluetooth does, but i have not been able to make IR work.

I tried using OBEX in this ROM and it works when I receive items, but when I send something it freezes on the search.

On mine, I'm sending it to myself, I get an indicator at the top that gives me the send report, it goes all the way to 100% and goes away, but the message is never actually received. At some points though, this message indicator will appear again (trying to resend it I guess), and it will go all the way to 50%, then stop. No error message though o.O

Love the new kitchen dcd, just a couple of things.

1.Windows Mobile themes (.tsk files) do not install when you click on them. They have to be moved to windows directory manually.

2.I have an extra satellite icon in my status bar and can't seem to get rid of it. I've seen this mentioned before but I can't seem to find it now.

Never mind. Figured it out. I checked the MMS_config.mscr for Verizon and saw that it pulls the phone number. I had cleared storage on my phone, so my phone number wasn't set. Went to the registry and changed the value to my phone number. Everything is working now.

When the "Receive all incoming beams" was checked in the stock ROM, my WinXP notebook would sometimes even "see" the Titan when the Titan was asleep. Turned on, with the stock ROM, IR beaming of individual files in both directions worked fine.

Sorry, im pretty sure it is Esmertec Jbed (i havent used it since 07). I take my package names from their reg entry in OEMApps, and that one was Jbed. I meant to rename it and forgot :/Yup, DCD, it is an OEM of jeodek. Its directory has just been misnamed. If you check the exe and help files they also confirm that it's jeodek rather than jbed.

I forgot if I made an OEM from cloudyfa's CAB or if I found an OEM elsewhere, but the version of jbed that I've included into my kitchen is Esmertec_Jbed_0_0_20080222_3_1.

I see that too. I found it to be when I open a text before sliding open the keyboard. I usually close out the text and re-open it when I have the keyboard open

It's now in the threading messaging itself. It's all combined. In a threaded message, you can select menu->insert->picture/video, or from the main view of all messages, you can select menu->new->MMS.

It works very good i have been using it on my mogul for a few weeks now. You just need to make sure u have a sprint pic mail acct.

Sprint blocked the use of arcsoft on the mogul because of some politics but they are working on implementing it on all sprint smart phones soon.

As far as DCD's rom yes it will work on the mogul and yes it is wayyyyyyyy better than the stock rom imho.

Yes, this does with with Sprint, along with a number of other carriers. Unlike the latest stock (3.35) ROM from Sprint that is running WM 6.0, this is running the latest available build of WM 6.1 which has better memory management capabilities, a task manager, threaded SMS and a number of other improvements. On top of that, dcd has added many tweaks to improve performance and made most thing optional to install so you can make your ROM just the way you like.

I would recommend to spend some time reading up on the process to become a little more familiar with it before you get started. It is not hard, but can be confusing with terms thrown around like OEMs and CABs, ROMs and Kitchens, etc. When you do it though, you will cause all of your friends to have phone envy. :D

Edit: Sorry, I thought you were asking if dcd's kitchen will work on your Sprint phone! I concur with King_tee... for Sprint, you will want to use sMMS (dcd uses it). :)

The "Running Programs" tab was removed. You may want to do a hard reset before you get too far along with your customizations. That's weird about the backlight thing.

Yes. Just run the kitchen and Sprint is checked by default. Make sure you have the 3.35 radio, 2.4 bootloader, visual c++, and .net framework 2.0 all installed before you run the kitchen. Best to just read the first page of the thread where it says all the carriers it is for and the procedure.

Whoa..that's awesome. I didn't know about that before. At my house my phone bounces back and forth from EVDO (no bars) to 1X (1 to 2 bars) and i drop calls all the time. This will let me choose the 1X.

Just run the stock one and see what happens. I didn't relock when I ran the stock one for the radio upgrade, so I think it will work. You can't hardly lose. One quick question......are you running vista?

That wouldn't be a bad idea, either. If Lex is using Vista he will need to run buildos as administrator for it to work. I found that on Yahoo where someone else had the same challenge.

i put that tsk in there (forgot about it actually) but it does not automatically load. you should not have to rename your theme. if you want it to automatically load, call cusTSK.exe yourtheme.tsk in config.txt.

on the themes note, i cannot reproduce the problem clicking on a .tsk file outside of /windows. it works fine for me.

Others (Keystone) have reported that this one is not Jbed (even though it is called that in the OEM folder). It seems like it is actually Jeodek.

I have the same issues as you re:Opera and so I am going to recook without this one and add the jbed oem from dcd's last kitchen.

This method of getting the menu up is fine for me, but i know you were trying to work out how the problem occurred. Sorry that my troubleshooting has not helped.

i dont know the technical details, of how programs run and how memory is allocated, but,
where i would be using 85-90% memory on 3.0.1, doing the same thing, it seems like im only using about 70%

I am running 3.0.1 and about ready to reflash to stock or chunk my phone against a wall! Whichever is more convenient at any given moment.

Everytime I turn off bluetooth I either have no ringer, no speaker sound when I answer a call, or all of the above.

I am also having issues with pulling in email from our Exchange server and my personal cox.net pop account. My Alltel Wireless connection can't seem to keep the password in memory, so I get prompted to re-enter it about 4-5 times a day.

I am getting really aggravated with this! The whole reason I switch from the stock rom was to get bluetooth working. (I missed my H700!) Now it's no better than before and my phone has new issues!

One thing that I always do whenever I reflash is a hard reset and then a Clear Storage (although with the MMS configuration I might reverse that order).

Don't know if you already do this, but just thought I would bring it up. I find that it clears up problems for me after flashing.

Worked like a charm. I am fully loaded and running well. Will try to pair my car handsfree in a bit, and if that works, its all good.

Added OEMs: slingbox, some games, new jbed, 1-Calc, Foxit reader, ringtones, sounds, today agenda, bafs gps toggler, google maps, HTC Home Customizer, Oxios, and a few others with no problems. The only OEMs that wouldn't run in the kitchen were the HTC Audio Manager and TCMCP.

Another tip: If you make sure to change the Device ID back to the one you had with your prior ROM, before syncing to your desktop the first time, then you can easily access and load many of the programs you previously had installed by using the Activesync add/remove programs under Tools.

I use server 08 @ work and when I want to build my ROM's there all I do is use a virtual PC (XP). I don't know if you have all those resources available but it helps me.

Ok: I found that the 2nd of 3 buttons in HTC task mgr connects to the second (and better) task mgr. So, I'm fine.

I also have seen the 2 different signal bars / indicators w/ 2 different settings. Only sometimes, though.

To a lot of questions: *Currently* the only way to get the rom is by 'cooking' a kitchen. You need to download the C++ and .net frameworks from MS linked in the first post. It's actually not too hard to use buildOS (provided). You just need to make sure to check the right carrier box. If you prefer there is the ppckitchen.org version of DCDs kitchen. It uses a different buildOS that has more options and takes a bit more time to do.

Hi Guy's i wish to know if it's a goos idea to share my oem that i used i have really not credit for them some have been found over this forum and some are my own made from Other's work, tools and infos found in this awesome base of knowing (XDA-Dev.).... So May be should i start a new thread called '' OEM Sharing'' I know that if we give someting we have to support it . That the list: Calc98, Shaps_Advanced_Config2.1, Wi-Fi Forum, GPSToday95,Cyberion Voice Commander 2.0, Total Commander, dotFred Task (and process) manager, , Navizon, Ftouchflo (that is not working with the cube i use), SIPChange , HTCHome 2.1(6 icons), acbToggleBT (audio profile for listenig music over B-T) and AllMines (and other games from ppcGeek Kitchen that ifound for kaiser before their release)... Wath i was'nt able to OEMize correctly i CABed it and run it from SDConfig a CAD software(in spanish for everyday CAD user only), astroGPSlauncher (That i also have as a packaged OEM from PPCGEEK_KITCH.), Vistacube (From Poorly duck), and Pocke CM K.-BoardEN0.14 (that i can't OEMized very bad 'cause this is the first non registred released)....

Last i check was ROM v3.0.1 had problems with installing the new Radio and would brick the phone.
The only way to get it to work properly was to first install the Full Sprint ROM.

Is this still the case?

Or can the Kitchen be installed normally and Radio separatly, like the v2.x.x ROMS of the past?

as far as i know, once you let the customizations run, the game is over. you need to go all the way back to the stock verizon rom and start over. The sprint customizations overwrites some of your information and I dont know if its possible to get it back without just flashing the verizon rom.

I have the very same problem, fri. I will dial a new number and it automatically dials a number off my contact list. DID you reload the VZW ROM and redo everything. I beleive that's the only way to recover from your situation.

It doesn't have the blue screen because the skin is different on that one. I am using DCD's Vouge dialer on my ROM and it is working perfectly ( no issues with smart dial what so ever). Even after skinning the dialer to my new theme.

Here's some bluetooth weirdness with 3.04:

My device cannot find the handsfree in my car, but it pairs up even though a password is required by the handsfree.

My bluetooth settings show no devices, yet I pair up perfectly.

Is it possible that remants of previous registry or commands remain in the radio hardware after a ROM change? This has not happened to me in previous flashes. I'm not complaining because its working. Weird :confused:

I think the next time I flash, I will hard reset first, and take out the battery for a while before flashing.

Also, be careful if you try to use the colibri font from no2chem. It breaks the extra inbox commands (delete all; mark all read).

Otherwise, everything is running great. Another winner from DCD!

Can you tell me what is not working about it because I need to be sure it does. I just clicked on the page link then tried to download both the RUU and the Kitchen and both worked for me. Maybe try to refresh the screen because I did have the file location wrong for about 10 minutes then fixed it. Please try to refresh. My web site stats say there has been several downloads of both of these in the past few minutes (more RUU than Kitchen). If its not working for you, then I gotta try to figure out why. This happened to me and a friend when we went back to stock, then up to 3.0.1. Only resolution was to call Verizon. It was something on their network side. They opened up a ticket with their Network support. Got a call, the guy saw what was wrong, and fixed it. Had to soft reset in order for the fix to take though.

Yep, thats exactly what I ended up doing... talked to 2 techs in the data department, went through 50 dedundant steps... finally got a trouble ticket to their network dept.... they called me back 30 mins later and "did something" and all fixed now!

Can you tell me what is not working about it because I need to be sure it does. I just clicked on the page link then tried to download both the RUU and the Kitchen and both worked for me. Maybe try to refresh the screen because I did have the file location wrong for about 10 minutes then fixed it. Please try to refresh. My web site stats say there has been several downloads of both of these in the past few minutes (more RUU than Kitchen). If its not working for you, then I gotta try to figure out why. Anyone having any issues with WMWifirouter not handing out DHCP addresses with this latest build? My clients can connect to the wireless network but an address can never be obtained via DHCP. Hard coding IP does not seem to get traffic passed either.

Ok the problems I am having with the messed up signal icon and voicemail icon is definately a problem with this kitchen. I flashed to stock no issues, flashed the sprint then the 3.0.1 and no issues. Then I flashed to stock again no issues, then to sprint then to 3.0.4 and the problems come back. I checked epst settings and compared it to stock and noticed some extra options. Could epst be the culprit? If anyone solved this problem let me know right now I'm going back to 3.0.1 until all of this is sorted out.

B52junebug figured out the Power Saving setting that had disabled the IR File transfer capability in the DCD 3.0.1 and 3.0.4 ROMs. Simply make this quick Registry Edit (below) and then enable IR in both Settings and the CommMngr and Voila! Your 6800 is now "visible" to your IR enabled notebook and vice versa! I just tested and confirmed that I can now send and receive individual files back and forth from my WinXP notebook via InfraRed:

Changed the following in the Registry:

When you say visable, what do you mean? What software are you using to "see" the xv6800? I have xn XP SP2 laptop and don't know what software to use to Xfer files using IR.....

Sprint, only, yes. Should make that clearer, I guess. The kitchen is just above it, however, and can be used for all the carriers. Maybe tonight I will run it out for more carriers.

You guys are going to confuse a lot of people naming a ROM .zip as RUU.zip. RUU is a specific, carrier independent, thing - it's definately not a ROM.

One thing that I always do whenever I reflash is a hard reset and then a Cl
