i recently got a Vario III from T-mobile its been unlocked to any network and now i have an O2 UK sim card in it. The problem i have is that i can not send any mms messages. I asked O2 to send me the settings. They said they'll have to send by e-mail. 2 settings were send to me one for internet which works fine and the second one was for mms. Unfortunately the second setting was an instruction to click on a button that is only availible on their XDA stellar. I repeatly asked for O2 mms manual settings but they kept sending me the same thing. I resorted to keying my own settings in that i found on the web.
Under mms settings server tab.
Server name: O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port number: 9201
Server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connects via: o2 (The internet settings which works fine)
Send limit: 300k
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Even with these settings i am still unable to send or recieve MMS messages. I suspect the icon button that O2 are asking me to click on is a cab file thats stored on the XDA Stellar maybe this cab file is my solution?
Any help would be welcome.

9 months ago I upgraded from a Mini S to a Trion. The Mini S didn't have the correct settings in it, so I had to install them manually.
However, I never managed to get it completely right. Sure they worked, I could receive and send MMS messages, then I found that it was going over the "wrong" connection and was costing me both messages and data, so do watch out for that one.
On my new Stellar, it does seem to be working with no side effects, although it switches from one thing to another to send MMS messages. I'll try and copy out the data I have on mine. If you need more, do ask...
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections
"My ISP" -> Manage connection
Name "Mobile Web",
Modem Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point mobile.o2.co.uk
Username O2web
Password (Think it is "password", see here (http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/commerce/servlet/gben-server-PageServer?ARTICLE=STATIC.MMS_PAGE))
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP-> Use server assigned IP, rest deselected
Servers -> DNS 193.113.200.200 193.113.200.201
"My Work Connection" -> Manage Connection
Name "O2 Active"
Modem Cellular (GPRS, 3G)
Access point wap.o2.co.uk
Username o2wap
Password (Probably "password" again)
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP -> As above
Servers -> "Use server assigned addresses"
Start -> Messaging -> Menu -> MMS Options -> Servers
Name "O2 UK"
Gateway 193.113.200.195
Port 8080
Server Address http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect via "My Work Network"
Send Limit 300k
Wap version 2.0
Hopefully all that makes sense if you work through it.
"My ISP" are the internet settings are that I use to browse the web. "My Work Network" appears to be O2's WAP settings and is used to send MMS messages, so it looks like you might need to use it for that.
I'll also have a look and see if I can find the cab you were on about.
I hope that helps.

Please forgive the double post, I expected it to take longer to find.
I honestly don't know what each of these do, but they are all the cabs I found in /windows. I am assuming the smaller ones are the actual configurations themselves and the O2 Custom thing is the application that will install everything else. The "plugin order" cab file makes me wonder if this also has a bunch of today plugins attached to it, but I honestly don't know (I haven't hard reset without installing the extRom and have not used any other WM6 devices).
Does WM6 come with a bunch of today screen plugins for things like running programs etc... ? (ie beyond dat/time, calendar, tasks and messaging). Before this I only used WM5, so I don't know if you're going to get a bunch of extra today plugins tagging along (they aren't *bad*, they're just pointless if you read these forums as you'll no doubt either get better for free or have bought something like Mobile Shell).
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for your help. I aligned all my settings to the same as yours but made no progress what happens is the message tries to send and is placed in the outbox but never succeeds. So I had a look though the cab files you kindly uploaded, the only file that looked like it maybe the one i need is MP_MMS4.0_O2UK_POSTPAID_Kaiser_070809.cab. So i ran it from my memory card the result was not good. the mms doesn't even go to outbox now. hehe. oh well i could always restore the rom and maybe stick to a t-mobile sim card if a want to send mms. unless you have any other suggestions?
Am i the only person trying to use a Vario III with a O2 sim? Surely there are others but i guess mms messages aren't a function people use that often.

The following page on the O2 website allows you to have the settings sent direct to your phone as an SMS:
http://getsettings.o2.co.uk/ServeSettingsWebApp/
I'm not an O2 user, so don't know if this works or not. Sorry if you've already tried this.

Hang on, you on payasyougo? Am fairly sure they have different usernames and passwords, access points etc.....
Try again as above, but with the following change in the relevant section.
"My Work Connection" -> Manage Connection
Name "O2 Active"
Modem Cellular (GPRS, 3G)
Access point payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username payandgo
Password (Probably "password" again)
Domain <empty>
-> Advanced
TCP/IP -> As above
Servers -> "Use server assigned addresses"
The "My ISP" settings will also probably need to be changed, but you said you had that working so I shall assume you know more about that than me.

On top of this you need to go through a specific proxy as follows:
HTTP: 193.113.200.195 Port 8080
WAP: 193.113.200.195 Port 9201
Secure WAP: 193.113.200.195 Port 9203
Socks: 193.113.200.195 Port 1080
Also a note, I wasn't able to get MMS working untill I Flashed to Dutty's WM 6.1 Hybrid ROM

Good shout. My phone keeps setting my HTTP and socks proxy to 127.0.0.1 in order to match the desktop computer (stupid, stupid activesync) so I had ignored it. I didn't realise there were more settings in there that could be relevant.
It seems the very important ones are the WAP and secure WAP proxies (which activesync doesn't seem to be configured to break). Mine are set to the values given by Audio.

Unfortunately O2 can't send mms settings to kaiser and probably not any phone that uses WM6 but it was worth a try. thanks
Cavey: I'm on contract with o2 so the initial settings you gave me should work but doesn't. i've tried keying Audio's proxy settings in too, but still no luck. I also restored the phone to its factory settings then re-keyed all the settings in, the result is still negative.
As you mentioned, O2 are charging for the unsuccessful attemps of sending mms. I have 500 sms but 1 mms = 4 sms. i'm running out fast so i think i'll give it a rest for not until my allowance resets.
Maybe i'll follow in Audio's tracks and install a Dutty rom. only had the Vario III for less than 1 month though and know very little about flashing the rom on this phone.
Cheer's for everyone's help for now.
