Dutty is a rom..... SPB MS 2.0 is a program. It'll run on any rom.

Yeah I know that it is... I guess I was meaning how does it compare to just running HTC home? Worth the buy?

SBP products run great and are essential for any phone but I only use SBPdiary w/HTCH on my Today screen. Most of their products run great in the background, SBPTime for powerful alarm clock, stop watch, and world timer. SPB Phone Suite excellent calling features that can run in the background as well.

I typically enjoy HTCHC but from time to time I wish I had the artistic and technological skills to create something different

I have a Tilt, and I tried installing both SPB Shell 2.0 and SPB Pocket Plus 4 on Dutty's April 1st rom, and they worked but did one weird thing, when the phone would boot up the signal would go in and out, flashing there, then not there, then there etc., it would do this for almost a minute before finally locking on a signal.

I would say that the SPB Mobile Screen 2 program is awesome! I have been using it on top of Dutty's Light rom and it works great. Real smooth and responsive, lots of customization options as well as nice fit and finish which is hard to find on a WM6 product.

If you want a free version you can always check out .... to find all the crack codes for almost any software package out there.

As far as the downsides go, it eats battery faster than normal, it does not run on your today screen which bothers me and you can OK through it and go back to your today screen. That problem is slightly solved by SPB making it your default app when you start up the phone and bring it back from sleep which elevates most of the issues.

I just flashed my phone and am going to try giving HTC Home Live a chance, but if I do not think it is customizable enough I am going straight back to SPB... Before I forget to mention, SPB has one of the best opening screens I have seen so far, it has a email, missed calls and text messages right on the front, as well as weather, call options, clock, and the best part a calendar with dates and your schedule all in an easy to read form.

I hope this clears up something for you. Hopefully you wont have to pay for it, but if you do, I would actually say it is worth the 30 bucks.

Have you lost your mind man? Warez is strictly prohibited here. I suggest you edit it out. Please no warez, cracks, serials, keygens or anything of the sort.

That's because weather updates on bootup.

It sucks but does level off & then everything works.

Besides that, they both work excellent for me together

I tried the spb mobile shell trial and it's also nice.

Try Pointui (http://www.pointui.com/Home.aspx) as well, you might like it and not buy spb mobile shell at all. The last time I tried this was when it just came out in Alpha stage and it did quite well and was fast with the original, slow wm6 OS that came with my Tilt

Ahh, so that's what's causing it, I was going nuts trying to figure out why that was happening with them, thanks dwny! It does level off after a minute or so like you said and then it's fine, I was thinking it was screwing with my signal or phone, but if it's normal and not a problem, I am putting them back on. I am so glad you posted this, I was missing my SPB stuff, HTC Home just isn't cutting it for me. I had hard reset the Tilt and reloaded Dutty's Rom, and left off those programs because, like I said, I thought it was an error.

Edit-If I shut off the weather, will it stop that behavior? I don't use the weather on SPB MS, It doesn't have the weather for my town of Redwood Valley, I use Weather Bug and Weather Watcher for that. It's weird, I didn't have this issue when running MS or PP on Laurentius's ROM's. I take it that the signal thing is only visual, ie.the signal is actually okay, but while it's updating at boot up it "shows" it as going in and out, no?

Be careful with Point UI, it's tricky to uninstall (there is no uninstall for it in the "remove programs" page), and it leaves pieces of itself of it allover. I tried it too, and it has a ton of potential, but they really need a way to get it off the phone, right now it's an exercise in frustation.

Quick question, what did you think of Point UI? worth installing and flashing again? I am fumbling around with a lot of different UIs? I have tried Ultimate Launch (bit too complicated for me to setup the way I want, SPB Mobile Shell, (but it drains too much batt), HTC home (not customizable enough.) If you could let me know a little more about the POINT UI that would be awesome before I put it on my phone. Thanks buddy.

you tried htc home customizer w/ quick launcher?

There are many customized icons, clocks, backgrounds, and weather views. In addition w/ quick launcher you have an extra row of tabs, which you can change to go to any program (and icons of course).

I stuck with HTC embedded inside Ultimate Launcher.
Ultimate Laucher is not that complicated if you look carefully a little bit of patience and you'll get the hang of it, moreover you could just copy your Ultimatelauncher.ini file as backup to have the same setup each time in case you like flashing roms a lot.

For HTC Home there's HTC Home Customizer, lots of icons to download.

I've tried most of them, but i always end up with the simplest setup I guess I got tired of fancy sliding and multiple clicks, the fewer clicks to find what I need does it for me.

Btw, there's another nice today app I'd like you to see it's rlToday (http://rotlaus-software.de/projects/rltoday/) Check it out
