I have read and read everywhere and my eyes now hurt, but i did not find the answer i was looking for:

I have a Telus P4000, and i want to use it on a different network (MTS, does not have a version of the P4000).

Would simply unlocking it enable MTS to program it for Voice on their network? I am basically asking if that would remove the lock Telus has on the phone so it can be re-programmed.

Thank You.

Just to add on a quick question.

Can i flash Bell mobility firmware on a telus p4000 and have it work on the Mobility network just like the bell branded 6800?

Simplified: CDMA devices, unlike GSM with a transferable SIM card, have an individual code that is hardlocked to them and assigned to their network. So no, unless a carrier permits another's phone to be activated and used on their network, you cannot simply flash a phone to run on another carrier.
