In addition there will never be perfect software, it is that which gives the eye and discover other plugin or other software

Plugin that I find it great because you can easily change from a file xml .. It is easy and has the skinner

And it's free

this will freeze your phone, maybe not inital run, but it will. the scroll option on the buttom does not scroll with your finger, it may and might not work with the stylus when scrolling left or right...hit and miss. backup before you try this software!:)

it works to change the shorcut or to add some new like

The problems I faced :
I miss .tga files for the shorcuts I need (to file the src="")
I cannot place it in the bottom launcher, cause btnid values are not working
I'd like to have more than one row after the first slide (firstly 4 on one row, then I slide, and get 2 or 3 rows of 4 icons) -> should be playable with x and y values, haven't tested yet...

Looks nice, but with 2.5 mb of storage and 4mb of memory, I loose way too much.

If this could be brought down and an option to make the plugin full screen instead of having to click on the plugin button to bring it up then it would be a cool adin to UL.

For the wallpaper, take the background jpg you want (240 x 320), rename it BG.jpg and drop it in the Smart Touch folder (\Program Files\Smart Touch on mine) overwriting the one in there. Not worked out the shortcut.

The battery meter does not seem to work. It shows the + and small amount of charge regardless of being connected or not?
The keys take a little getting used to. They are not instant response (at least on my Touch). You have to press and hold for a split second for them to register. Not a big deal but took me a minute to figure out.

This is my take on this:
1. It can be installed on the storage card (Smart Touch folder under program files). This helps those who need to save space on the device.
2. It was designed for a non-HTC device, so many of the common HTC application links will need to be modified.
3. The application links are easily edited in the XML file "mmiaction". I suggest you make a copy of the original and make changes to your copy. You can use notepad to edit the xml file, just make sure to "save" not "save as" or it will not preserve it as an xml file. I have attached my modified xml file below to give you some ideas for changing links.
4. The icons are all .tga files and can be changed or edited with Photoshop or GIMP. Again they are in the "Smart Touch" folder in program files (either on device or storage card, depending on where you installed it).
5. The ability to toggle between this interface and the "today" screen is a great concept. For me, this allows me to use a full screen weather panel theme on my home screen and can easily toggle back to this interface.
6. It does not have links for some common applications like music, calculator or pictures. I will likely make icons for these and change one of the other links. Right now I am using the "wizard" icon to launch the calculator and my touch cube to launch music and photos.
7. Took me watching the video in post 1 to know that you display the large clock by sliding left or right in the main screen. Very NICE!

For the attached xml file, it is designed for my device with my apps, so I don't recommend you just over write the original file with this one.

Wireless now goes to \Windows\commmanager.exe This is the regular comm manger instead of the small version.
Calendar now goes to \Storage Card\Program Files\ThumbApps\ThumbCal\ThumbCal.exe You will need to install ThumbCal on the storage card.
Wizard now goes to \Windows\MobileCalculator.exe I am using this icon to launch the calculator.
Clock (including when you press on the small clock and date) now goes to \Storage Card\Program Files\Spb Time\SpbTime.exe I have Spb Time (this app costs money) installed on the Storage card.

Hopefully this will help some of you come up with your own customization.

I know Torx did a tga set, but this seems to need a three part icon for the visuals. I'll try some different icons and see if I can make anything, but I'm not the best at it.

Very nice and smooth on my Touch. It's very customizable which makes it way more usable than the LG plugin for example. I just wish we could add more stuff instead of 2 clocks to the main screen. I'm going to try to make it look more like the HTC Touch theme. Shouldn't be too difficult although my Photoshop skills aren't the greatest.

Does anyone know wether we can change the home screen icon? It stands out really ugly in my dark grey homescreen.

check the "application.xml" in its program-folder.

If you're kinda familiar with XML (nodes and subnodes etc) you should be able to figure it out.

I think, you will be up to check some more values than you expect, because maybe the clock has to be resized too..

Since I'm not so much into the whole green theme (doesn't at all match my Touch) I decided to make a new color scheme as announced earlier. The first result of it is a blue theme. Nothing changed except for the color. Just replace the files and everything works.


- Zip files should now be clean without Mac specific files/folders.
- Added grey theme

Damn those Mac files. I'll try to make a new clean zip. In the mean time you can just delete sub folders as they don't do anything. Any file that's not in the original folder can also be deleted. They probably start with a _
Note that they don't do anything except being maybe annoying.

You have to customize the application.xml which resides in (most of all cases) "/Program Files/Smart Touch/".

I think, it has something to do with localisation, ans slightly different structures in different ROMs. Was mentioned before.

You get to it cycling (or lets say pulling) the bottom bar to the right.
There's a shortcut called "Add" or something.
In there you can pull the shortcuts to the arrow in the upper part.

Try using your fingers. For me, I can only move the bottom bar, when I hold on to it for 1/10 sec.

This is my solution to get 'Programs' working... What I wanted on Settings is to open the main page of the Settings, not individual Tabs... The .lnks point to individual tabs...

Installed V1 onto my Qtek 9100. Start menu disappeared. The home button appeared and you could highlight it, but had no response. That's as far as it went. Had to uninstall using acticesync. Looks like a great plugin, although seems a bit too unstable for me at the mo. Will wait with anticipation for V2.....

No,battery meter doesn't work,lock too ( some people ),profiles and provider don't appear too on today ( pics in tga format are present in the folder smart touch and xml files is correct ) .

Sorry if I get you wrong, but try changing the application.xml!

For the "Shortcut-manager"-issue:
The Manager is just there to configure the bottom-bar.
The grayed-out buttons already are in the bottom bar.

My biggest thing is that it does not have a way to simply edit the shortcuts without manually editing the mmiaction.xml file. With this, it would be great.

Also, anyone know what the path is for call history on a HTC device/Kaiser?

I discovered that it DOES NOT NEED the Today Plug in to run.
I can run it fine from the EXE on my Atom Life (MWg).
I can also use D-pad to move the shortcut bar left or right but cannot select :/ so this may not work for smarphones....

Could be nice to use it in w.e app launcher you like on your today screen. or gestures if you have a touch/gesture launcher

I got 64 Ram and dont like to have my free ram drop.

Also- I hope it will be possible in the future to add something like Tasks or Calendar appointments in addition to the clock. But that may not be possible with this version as we htave the source. maybe version 2.0

when you touch the battery with this link it will open battery to show battery drainage but it doesn't show the gauge link on the today screen where it moves to show battery changes yet. still working on it

Anyone care to check out the rom from Gsmart ? may be we can get the appropriate file(s) from the rom and have our device working properly. I have downloaded the rom but only managed to get the italian rom for Gsmart ms800 which is running WM6.

I love to have this front end working fully, need all your help in getting this front end working.

my last thinkings about this program :

very smooth , but the 3 icons on the top (Call, SMS , Mail) work not every time with my big fingers (even if I've made them BIG , like in the Bottom)
The operator's name don't work , vibrate and sound : Don't work , same for battery , it doesn't show the charge ,even if the tga is made for.

For making work the lock function : I've replace the Unread email by the L_LOCK function
the tga files are very strange for me : not like png or icons
this evening I'll post screens all is working except the ones I've said.
I Have to try now if possible to add application (I think NO)

the cab doesn't install on my HTC P3600 , I have a message : only on original system (and the name of the phone)
that's why cruzz have made a cab for us. lol it's lepsyfou who made the cab , cruzz have made one with icons

Any help to make work the programs shortcut for eten X600?
I used the fileview.exe from htc home but doesn't function right. It just open the start menu and have only a folder "programs" that is empty. I have an english rom and the path is the normal one(Windows\Start Menu\Programs). Is there any other way to access "programs" from smart touch?

the three buttons on the top don't work always with fingers , I don't understand why ( 1 time / 3 ) and surely when starting the program
you have to put callHistory.exe in windows , same for settings.exe
I have the directory named 'Copie" because I've installed , then copied the directory and uninstall to have not the plugin and the tsk

so, managed to get most buttons remapped including programs, calendar to thumbcal, wizard to s2p, office to google maps, camera to s2v (since we already have a camera button:) ) call history works too. cant get opera mini to work when pointing to my created shortcut or contacts working with pocket cm. if anyone can confirm these to work, please let me know. lastly, i cant get the background to change no matter what theme i use. ive tried the blue and avot m, but the background stays the same. any help would be appreciated. thanks again for the great app!!

ok, figured out how to change the text also. you have to edit the mmisymbol xml. you have to edit the string that is highlighted in the attachment or TEXTImage name="SH_CONTACTS" text="Contacts" size="10" color="0xFFFFFFFF" where it indicates "text". change to whatever you want.

I notice the same thing, only the home icon shows up.
Once I click on it then it goes to the menu with the clock and etc.

Well, this program is brilliant, and with some customisations like turning Wireless into CoPilot, and hooking everything up with their respective Kaiser equivalents (I'll gladly upload my config files if anyone would like to take a look), as well as changing the background.

This is what PointUI should've been. Using that modified DLL with the neat Windows logo button, it's great to be able to drop back to Today for power usage.

All this app needs is for Appointments to be shown in it, but from what I can see this isn't actually developed by the development community as such is it? I thought it was ripped?

Either way, my feature request is simple:

Allow us to create more icons
Appointments/Calender built in

if you install the long press end key app, you can use that to switch between ring and vibrate. it allows you to just hold down the end key and will pop up a menu. quicklist or long press end key would be the search. hope that helps.

for exemple if you want "call history" just after "today" you tap on "call history" you stay tap and you jump ( make circle over other icon)

I'd actually like to see the option of removing that top-bar, and allowing the standard start bar to come through. Thus fixing the issues with the battery, allowing for another way of access applications, giving me access to the task-manager, etc. but while still fitting in with the plugin's look [with the correct theme of course].

I'm able to select the BG image as the background on the Today screen, but it appears with a white overlay. Shouldn't there be a new tsk file for this theme to select in the Today settings? Any help would be appreciated.


Hi make your own .tsk Theme and rename it in Smart Touch.tsk than change the .tsk files in \windows
Change now the (stwater_240_320.jpg, stwater_320_240.jpg, tdywater_240_320.jpg, and tdywater_320_240.jpg) same in \windows.

i have tytn II and don't know how to find the xml file and change it for that plug in " GSmart" to make the programs, settings and call history work...anyone could explain that in details pls..

so, managed to get most buttons remapped including programs, calendar to thumbcal, wizard to s2p, office to google maps, camera to s2v (since we already have a camera button:) ) call history works too. cant get opera mini to work when pointing to my created shortcut or contacts working with pocket cm. if anyone can confirm these to work, please let me know. lastly, i cant get the background to change no matter what theme i use. ive tried the blue and avot m, but the background stays the same. any help would be appreciated. thanks again for the great app!!

I dont know if anyone fixed it but I see that you spelled PocketCM wrong in your xml file...I corrected it and now it's working fine in mine so I will post the zip i'm using here....hope this helps!
