TOUCHPAL
What's new in V3?
Thanks to our customer feedback and their support to our continueous innovation, there're a bunch of new features in V3:
* Now you can "flow" your keyboard by sliding left or right!
* Support two more layouts: single-key layout and 9-key layout.
* Press-hold a key will expand all the characters on that key, including the accented letters (e.g., "a" for "á").
* Prediction is now based on context.
A lot more features and enhancements are available in V3. A detail list of new stuffs in V3 >> (http://www.cootek.com/intro-what's%20new%20in%20V3.aspx)

The skins are now customisable, but I find the default one is a bit boring.
Anyone care to enhance it?

Hebrewwwwwwww! :)
ok.. to be more specific than just yelling "HEBREW"... we israelies are having problems with writing in Hebrew in our keyboards after upgrading to WM6 because Eyron is dumb. (atleast in my eyes). and paragon supports only hebrew screen keyboard writing and not the physical keyboard. i believe that if they added hebrew to touchpal many israelies would buy it.
something to think about.

Ok, because no one was doing anything about a terrible standard skin :) , I changed all available png files to black and white in a graphic program. That did not take care of some backgrounds (ie help tag) and there is still a blue line across the keyboard. But I have no clue how to sort these out... Can anyone help?
BTW this SIP is amazing.

I've tried a bunch of keyboard programs and I have to say that this one is my favorite. Took just a bit of getting used to though. I just wish the installer didn't ask so many questions. That makes it tought to use UC.

I doubt this can be done because I didn't see anything about it on Cooktek's tutorial, but can you only change the keyboard color with skins?
I was excited to see that this new version adds a 9-key (usually that would be called a 12-key) layout because I like that for one-handed typing a lot, but it looks like you're still stuck with 5 columns.
I would much prefer to have bigger button in 3 columns like the htc keypad for portrait mode. Only problem with that one is the "side-effects" of XT9.
So is there any way to skin this new version and change the layout to 3 columns in portrait mode?

can i get rid of the nasty sound when i scroll left or right to select new keyboard layout...it makes a sound like a bomb is about to land on you
fixed: go to option and scroll until you find a selection to disable it.

This is a great keyboard. Amazing!
Just one question though, is there a way to change the color from blue to black?

Is there a way to change keys' disposition?
I mean... Can I move the "?" from the original position to a different one?

How exactly do we go about creating a skin for this. I can try my hand at it. Also it works in Opera 9.5 latest build (1490?)

Ok after a long debate with one of the Cootek developers (mybeautify or cstewart can't remember) I tried this one as well.
First the snapshots looked good. This is somehow similar to what we see in marketing : products branded with nice designs, but the quality poor.
My device, Axim X51V, is quite a fast one, or this is my impression about this kind of CPU's. Touchpal made me feel I was using a 200MHz OMAP.
So after a few tests in which I've seen it doesn't do much I've uninstalled it quickly. Sorry, but there are better alternatives, so I won't stick to something inferior.
If anyone needs to know, I'm currently using FTPRO, it's simply the best KB so far, you can download the CAB Attached and give it a try. More details on www.fingertouchpro.com
Ciao!

Is it me? I have read all 3 pages of this thread and visited the external links to the website forum but I still can't find a VGA skin - ideally Diamond Manilla style to match HTC Diamond. Please help me out and show me where it is before I go loopy :)
