Mini USB Y-Adapter from Motorola?!

Hi,

I own a car charger for my AT&T 8525, but on long trips my GPS bluetooth receiver is always running out of power (I just have one power-out in my car!)

I found an old mini USB Y-Adapter from Motorola in my collection of cables. Can I use this adapter to charge my 8525 and my bluetooth receiver at the same time? I would like to get confirmation before I try it, because I don't want to damage my device (maybe the wires are different because the adapter is from Motorola?!).

I personally would buy fom local electrical/car store a dual power adaptor that plugs into the power outlet. Bought one a while back for $15aud. This does mean you require another power adaptor for your GPS but I find they generally supply that with the reciever... Cheers...:)
