Ok so I have been able to send and receive MMS fine for several weeks with Rogers and my HTC S621 with the new wm6 rom on it.

Worked for awhile with the tmobile rom and then stopped working before i changed rom.

So anyways whats happening now is I can send FINE but I cannot receive.

Finally got someone at rogers who seemed to know what they were talking about and they said that if I have my sim in another phone like a nokia that is supposed to send and receive then if their system updates and shows me with that and I put my sim back in my HTC then I can receive but if the system updates again showing me with a HTC S621 it will no longer accept the incoming.

There is nothing they can do to fix it... they said they were planning to release a rom with a fix for it but I dont want to wait for that so does anyone know a way around this?? is there a registry fix or something to allow me to keep getting them??

Thanks

REgarding this MMS stuff, i was having similar issue where i could send MMS but not receive. I then realized that my friend had the same issue as well. I checked my online album and all the pictures were going there. I don't even receive notifications of my MMS messages being received by the other person. I worked with rogers tech support for nearly 2 hour2 with 4 different phones (rogers does not support MMS on HTC s621 or any other phone running windows mobile because they dont have an agreement with microsoft apparently). I could not even get my rogers razer to work, same issues. They kept telling me my account was fine. She then recommended i try a new sim card, which i did with no luck. I have yet to call back and let them know that im still having problems. Has anyone been experienceing similar issues?

I have the exact same issue. I can send but not receive. What do you have for your MMS settings?

Sorry, Rogers does not support MMS messages being received on the Excalibur.

The software they use does not have a profile for the device, so they make you log in to their website to view mms messages.

pain in the butt? YES.

in connections create 2 profiles one called Rogers Internet with access point internet.com. the user name wapuser1 and password wap, leave everything else blank. Create another Rogers Media that connects to work, access point put media.com. The user name is media and password is mda01. Authentication as none and leave everything else blank. Then go to messages choose MMS and then 4Account settings, put a check on all except reject all messages and allow read report, number of attempts 4 and resolution original. Then press the menu and go to MMSC settings, create new profile. Name is Rogers MMS, MMSC url is http://mms.gprs.rogers.com, the wap gateway is10.128.1.69 with port:80. Connects via WORK and max setting 300k and WAP 2.0 press menu again and make Rogers MMs as the default and erase the other profile if there was one. Your all done but make sure also if you press from the main Start then settings then GPRS Authentication that its on PAP authentication

I too am getting the same error message since flashing my dash to WM6 htc ROM...I still think the Robust Rom outweights the sms problem...however in a perfect world, we can have both...anyone else with the problem???

I meant to write those settings down before upgrading -- someone with a standard Dash might be able to post them. As with the wap.voicestream.com setup to get internet going, I believe there is additional configuration to be done before MMS will work right...?

I hate to do some cross-forum posting stuff, but PocketPC Addict (http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/forums/pocket-pc-tips/15892-t-mobile-internet-settings-t-mobile-mda-windows-mobile-5-phone-edition.html) has the settings for T-Mobile (a little Google goes a long way!). I learned that MMS and GPRS settings are not often sent by the carrier when I jammed my AT&T SIM card in there.

I find it funny that AT&T keeps all their settings for all their devices, yet T-Mobile doesn't, especially considering that T-Mobile is far more liberal when it comes to customer support (allowing people to bring their unlocked phones with them, unlocking phones after only three months of service, not charging extra for teathering, relatively cheap Internet rates, etc.)

I just got finished flashing my dash to the generic HTC ROM and I'm trying to find the procedure for putting the settings in for cingular. I tried following some that I found that aid to go to:

Start > Messaging > MMS > Menu/Settings > Menu/MMSC Settings

But the fields don't match up with the settings that the Cingular/AT&T site provides. For instance, there's no username/password settings on the dash in this location.

Anyone have a working set of instructions/settings for the new AT&T/Cingular?

I do NOT have a data plan, nor do I want to use MediaNET, etc. I just want to use WiFi and MMS. (WiFi works fine.)

*sigh* I spent 2 hours looking and looking.. then, imediately after posting this, I find it. Well, at least this may help the next poor soul looking for it.

This is for another device, but the instructions are exactly the same.

For pretty screenshots go to:
https://www.wireless.att.com/support/deviceConfig.do?content=KB69475.html

1. From the home screen, press Start and select Messaging.
2. Scroll to and select MMS.
3. Select Menu.
4. Scroll to and select Options.
5. Scroll to and select Account Options. (mine said 'Account Settings')
6. Scroll to and select MMS.
7. Select Menu.
8. Scroll to and select MMSC Settings.
9. With "Cingular MMS" highlighted, select Edit.
10. Validate the following: (Edit existing or Add)

* Name: Cingular MMS
* MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
* WAP Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
* Port: 80
* Connect Via: The Internet
* Max. Sending Size: 300K
* WAP Version: WAP 2.0

11. Select Done.

Guys,

I have been reading all of the threads on this forum and i am glad that you are solving almost all the problems that ppl occurred while using the dash.

I have the T-mobile MDA Mail europe and i love the phone but there is no wifi. In order to get the wifi i installed new ROM (thanks to this forum) and now I have the newest ROM but i still dont have wifi. I asked the chief of T-mobile service in my country how can i solve this and he said the actually T-mobile Europe is ordering this phone in HTC without the WIFI antenna. I was amazed and dissapointed. They are sooooo fucking gay coz they want us to use their gprs as only internet access.

However, After the installation of the official HTC WM6 ROM (i hated the t-mobile rom), I cant use even the GPRS. Can set the settings by myself. Can you please help me? There are no hints on the official t-mobile site.

Thanks in advance

SMS sends just fine, but MMS gives me a clock. When using Send/Receive, it says "error synchronizing"After you have installed the MMS setting from the above link, their is still more settings to be installed. Go to Start> Settings> Connections> GPRS> New
Description: T-Mobile MMS
Connect t0: Wap Network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: blank
Password: blank
Authentication Type: none
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: blank
Done
To send a MMS, Example: Sending a picture, you would be in Pictures & Videos area, you would put the highlight around the picture you want to send. Next, go to Menu> and (click on 0 Send via MMS), wait several seconds and you see the MMS sending icon at the top right side of the screen, that's it............

I tried this previously and while I could send and receive mms I could not longer send and receive email. Before setting up your e-mail account, make sure you have a Internet connection and do not try to connect to your mail server, while your device is still connected to your PC via active sync. Internet Settings for the Dash/Excalibur using T-Mobile's Edge network. Go to Start> Connections> GPRS> New>
Description: T-Mobile Data
Connect to: The Internet
Access point: Wap.voicestream.com
User name: blank
password: blank
Authentication Type: None
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: blank
Done
Now for the e-mail settings, go to Start> Messaging> and click on new e-mail accounts and just follow the set up wizard. You can test it to see if you have set up your e-mail account correctly. The T-Zone wap Internet settings can be found at the location of the above link............!

having the same issue, read all the threads about it, and still getting the same error problem. The earlier threads have the wap gate way as 216.155.165.050; however, T-Mobiles site has it listed as 216.155.165.050 (same as above). Tried syncing all proxy and wap settings to the T-Mobile Setting - and still the same problem. Oh, and before I was getting e-mail/internet also, now same error problem with that. When I get home I'll delete everything and start from scratch posting the steps - if I run into trouble I'll post screen shots here so we can all look at what we're doing.

Just noticed that when I enter, under the MMSC Settings, the Wap Gateway of 216.155.165.050 and push done, when you take a second look at it the Gateway SAVES as 216.155.165.50. Even if you delete the profile and set up a new one no matter how many times you try to enter 050 it saves as .50. I don't know if that's the problem or not -- still troubleshooting.

I've got an incomming MMS message that just will not DL. It keeps showing the download symbol for a few seconds, and then it goes away. I try to Send/Recieve, and I get "Error Synchronizing".

I'm on the newest HTC rom, all of the MMSC settings are correct, as I can send MMS messages and I have recieved a few back yesterday, but I just can't get this one message to finish.

Any suggestions?

Even with a working MMS configuration, I get the "Error Synchronizing" message. Here is what I did to get my connection up and running. I am using the RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080308 ROM. I deleted the "junk" entry in Connections\GPRS. I also deleted the "junk" entry in MMSC settings. Then, I setup my phone using the following directions from the T-Mobile Wireless Configurator, found below. Note: my MMS didn't work until I called a friend of mine who works for T-Mobile tier-2 tech support and he sent me an OTA that supposedly "refreshed" my phone on the network. I noticed that as soon as I got the update that the "E" in my icon bar was restored.

Setting up the handset

01. On the handset, press Start.
02. Scroll to Settings and press the center button.
03. Scroll to Connections and press the center button.

13. Press Menu.
14. Scroll to Advanced and press the center button.
15. Scroll to WAP connection and scroll horizontally to T-Mo MMS.
16. Press Done.
17. Press the red End Call button.

17. Press the red End Call button.

Setting up the MMS profile

01. On the handset, press Start.
02. Scroll to Messaging and press the center button.
03. Scroll to MMS and press the center button.
04. Press Menu.
05. Scroll to Options and press the center button.
06. Scroll to Account Settings and press the center button.
07. Press Menu.
08. Scroll to MMSC Settings and press the center button.
09. Press Menu.
10. Scroll to New and press the center button.
11. Scroll to Name and enter T-Mo MMS.
12. Scroll to MMSC URL and enter http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms.

14. Scroll to Port and enter 8080.
15. Scroll to Connect via and scroll horizontally to WAP Network.
16. Press Done.
17. Scroll to T-Mo MMS and press Menu.

I've had that happen before. Quadruple check the IP settings and URL spelling. I've driven myself nuts over that in the past and it turns out a letter or number is juxtaposed.

Yeah, it all was correct, obviously, or I wouldn't have gotten any MMS messages. One, out of 2, wouldn't come through. She sent it again, it came through, so I just deleted the one that wouldn't, and all is good.

Still strange though. Thanks for the help though.

Sounds like we have to call T-Mobile for them to place our number back in their"data base"
*Edited* Calling T-Mobile worked out the MMS issue for me....Inserting the settings and calling them to reenter me into their system.
I guess we have to call every time we change the ROM on the cell.

Any suggestions?

timothyjok,

I have tried everything under the sun to get SMS/MMS/Email/Internet working all together with the $5.99 plan. Your settings worked! Thanks a million. I must add though that for MMS, I had to change the "Connect via" in the MMSC settings from "T-Mobile MMS" to "The Internet". Prior to upgrading to WM 6.1, I never had problems sending MMS messages. I really need this function again.

I am not the most technically savvy so I would appreciate a simple fix that would allow me to change the size restriction in my MMS options. The highest it will go is 100k and it's too small to allow me to send pictures.

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\SizeLimit

3. Edit the DWORD values for SendLimit1, SendLimit2, SendLimit3, SendLimit4, and SendLimit5. The values are in bytes, so if you want 300k to appear, you would enter 307200 (which is 300*1024)

Note that each mobile carrier has their limits, so setting the max to 2MB will not work.

The instructions on doing this are for other versions of WM.. They are not the same for the dash.. Here are the settings and how to access them..

1. Create a new MMS message
2. Menu -> Options -> Message Options
3. Menu -> MMSC Options

Edit or create a new MMSC setting

T-Mobile Settings:
Name: T-Mobile MMS
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Connect Via: WAP Network
Max Sending Size: 300k
Wap Version: WAP 2.0

Hope that helps!

Note: On other WM devices, there is a specific Multimedia Messages option in the root of the Messages tool, however on the Dash the option does not exist. The only way to access these options is to create an MMS message.. Spent quite some time figuring this one out :D

I had this problem, and it seemed at the time that Technology and Mikey had the same problem as well. Our solution: time. 2-24 hours after flashing the 6.1 ROM, MMS functionality returned to normal.
It wouldn't hurt to "prime" your MMS' by sending yourself one or two for test purposes. I did this, and once I received the MMS messages I sent myself (2-24 hours) I was getting them from everybody.

Double check every step in both parts. Dont forget to reboot, too. You may also need to verify your other proxy settings too. It is unlikely but they could conflict. And since you are using 6.1 the a couple of the menu commands are in slightly different places than Tmo says.

Then, send yourself another test mms. I had no MMS for the last week, until I found those settings; now it's working perfectly.

I have two GPRS connections as T-Mo Data, and T-Mo MMS and a proxy which goes from T-Mo Data to The Internet.
PIE is on internet and unchecked auto select.
MMS uses T-Mo MMS under MMSC settings, so it isn't going through the proxy.

Now go click the messaging button in the lower right hand part of keyboard next to the camera button or t-zones buttone.

Yea well I guess thats not to bad, are you still using that hack thing and all? like where you only pay 5.99 and use it to gain the whole internet access.

I was having the same problem...that is, until I found this glorious page. http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/phonefirst?countryId=37&bearerId=5&networkId=90&contractId=235&captchaEnabled=true&manufacturerId=9&step=phone.vm&selectManufacturerId=9&phoneId=1828

If you have the HTC S620/S621 (T-Mobile Dash), these directions will surely work. I updated from the T-Mo WM6 ROM to the HTC 1.33 ROM and used these settings to configure my MMS and Internet connections. It works like a charm.

What's the final verdict on MMS not being received on the Dashs' after being upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1.

I have tried multiple settings that I have seen around, and nothing is working. I, and I'm sure, many others would like to have their full MMS capabilities back.

You may need to enter the MMSC settings again.. Here is how to do it (instructions for 6.0, but i imaging the method is still the same)

1. Create a new MMS message
2. Menu>Options>Message Options
3. Menu> MMSC Settings
4. Edit or create new

Here are the settings for Tmo USA:
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port:8080
Connect Via: Wap Network
Max Sending Size: 300k
Wap Version: 2.0

Hope that helps!

A call to T-Mobile resolved the issue. Others had stated in other threads, that they had success in having T-Mobile reset the MMS functionality on the account, so I called and requested the same.

After arguing with the first representative, who wanted me to reset, as in format the phone, I hung up, and called back and spoke to another person. This person had me turn off the phone, they reset (or removed me from their network), and when they had me turn it back on, they said it re-registered me on the network. The problem is now resolved, as I have successfully received MMS messages now. The 'Error synchronizing' message still appears when I select Send/Receive within the MMS area, but the messages do come through successfully. Maybe the Send/Receive option isn't for MMS, so it gives an error. I'm not sure, but at least MMS messages are being received now.

I never called Tmobile. I went in to the registry (somewhere), and changed the size limit for receiving to 100k, 200k, 300k and it started working ...until my next flashing spree. Dont recall if there were any errors after that. I'll send myself a message on my next day off and look up the settings.

Follow the directions of the user who posted above me. As far as the numeric values...the default should be 102400 (which is 100 X 1024). The 100 is representative of the 100K that the limit is currently set to. The new value should be changed to 307200 (300 X 1024). Change these values in the registry editor of your choice (i.e. PHM Reg Edit, Resco Explorer, etc.). After making the changes--reboot. From what I've read, make sure you don't use values higher than 300K. The effects may be detrimental to your device.

First, make sure you have correctly set up your connections settings. Then make sure you have a registry edit program such as: PHM Reg Edit or Resco Registry. Go to: HKLM/SOFTWARE/ArcSoft/ArcSoft MMS UA/Config/mm1/MMSCSettings/[yourMMSnamehere]
As far as the numeric values...the WAP1SendDefaultSize and WAP2SendDefaultSize should be already be 102400 (which is 100 X 1024). Hey guys, I've been searching and going through these forums the past 2 days looking for some info that could help me get my MMS working.

I've tried tweaking the T-Mobile settings and other settings thats been posted on here and other forums, but nothing seems to work :(

I'm somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to this, but not near as much as all of you.

I have CorrWireless service in Alabama, and the attached file is what they gave me to set it up. Pretty vague.

I contacted them, but they are pretty clueless.

I attempted the setup, but I keep recieving "Error Synchronizing" whenever I attempt to send a message to my other phone and the message times out.

I know I'm probably leaving out a lot of information, but I'd figure I give it a try posting here while I search some more.

If anyone out there feels like helping me, and you need more info, just ask.

Thanks in advance!

When is it that you get the "Error Synchronizing" message? When I set up my MMS according to the settings on T-Mobile's website, I noticed my phone would give me that "Error Synchronizing" message if I tried to Send/Receive in the MMS. I thought my MMS was jacked up until I sent a test message (audio file) to myself. It sent just fine, and came back to me like it normally would. So...I guess the "Error Synchronizing" message was slightly misleading in my case. Try to send an actual MMS message to someone or to yourself.

thompsonjdt
20th April 2008, 02:10 PM
I tried that yesterday evening. It still said the "Error Synchronizing" message, but the message I sent to myself took forever to get here. Also, when it did get here, it would say my time for downloading has expired for this message or something cloe to that.

I'll keep playing around with it and see if theres something I'm missing.

Thank you for your reply!

i've tried the connection setup wizard with wm6.1 and everything works (email, text, mms, other outside emails setups) everything except my browsers (PIE and Opera Mobile)

PLEASE HELP this is so frustrating to hear that it works like a charm but not for mine.

i get HTTP ERROR: $CODE$

from both browsers.

i've been told i'm being forced by tmobile to use the total internet 19.99 plan.

wm6.1 was working for a few days i think (i got the rom early on) but then one day i noticed i kept getting that error message (like 2 weeks ago)

Anyone able to get this working? I had internet that randomly worked and didn't and exchange server email that sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't.

I tried setting the connections up as noted for WM6 elsewhere, but haven't found a working setup for these 6.1 ROMs.

I'll flash Ricky's v20 when it comes out and see what I can find then.

I flashed to Ricky's v20a and ran the connection setup. I have two proxies in my list, null-corp and HTTP-{guid}, but my internet and my exchange push email are not working.

The two proxies listed connect via new-corp:1118. Is it a safe assumption that I should be replacing that with 216.155.165.50:8080

I tried that and keep getting:
Error
The remote party has ended this connection

jrronimo
23rd April 2008, 05:39 AM
I ran that connection setup also, but it makes a lot of things wrong.

Here's what you need:

Settings -> Connections -> GPRS:
1. T-Mobile Data
-- Connects to: WAP Network
-- Access point: wap.voicestream.com

2. T-Mobile WModem Link (I'm not sure what it is supposed to be used for)
-- Connectgs to: WAP Network
-- Access point: wap.voicestream.com

3. T-Mobile MMS (this may make MMS' not work. I haven't played with them yet)
-- Connects to: WAP Network
-- Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

Settigs -> Connections -> Proxy:
1. T-Mo Proxy
-- Connects from: WAP Network
-- Connects to: The Internet
-- Proxy (name:port): 216.155.165.50:8080
-- Type: HTTP

Internet Explorer -> Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Connections:
-- Automatically detect settings CHECK
-- Select Network: 'T-Mobile Data' (I thought it was supposed to be 'WAP Network', but I have it set to one of my data connections from earlier.)

That's all I have and it works for me -- at least, IE does. :)

cyndrax

I ended up using the data from: http://dashapps.googlepages.com/

And so far it seems to be working. Although the button sequences aren't exact, I seem to have the same settings working on WM6.1 as listed below for WM6.

1. Add the T-MobileWeb (T-Zones) Proxy Connection
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Proxy -> Menu -> Add

Description: T-Zones Proxy
Connects from: Wap Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy (name : port): 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>

Press Done.

2. Configure the Existing Data Connection
Start Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> GPRS -> T-Mobile Data -> Menu -> Edit

Connects to: WAP Network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <blank>

Press Done.

3. Configure Pocket Internet Explorer
Start Menu -> Internet Explorer -> Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Connections

Uncheck "Automatically detect settings".
Select Network: The Internet (Must be set to "The Internet" to work over WiFi. Try "WAP Network" if you're having trouble over the EDGE/GPRS connection)

Press Done.

4. Configure Messaging (follow these steps for POP or IMAP email accounts that have been manually setup)
Start Menu -> Messaging -> Highlight your email account -> Menu -> Settings -> Press Next twice

Select Network: WAP Network

Press Next three times then Finish.

The following applies to email on WM6:
In Settings/Connections/GPRS/T-Mobile Data: Tmobile Data
Connects to: Wap Network
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

AND add another GPRS option:

T-Mobile Data2
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

Then create TWO Proxies:
Settings/Connections/Proxy

First Proxy:
Name:Tzones Proxy
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP

Second Proxy:
Name Tzones Proxy2
Connects from: Work
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP

In connections, click menu, then advance and set ALL connections to AUTOMATIC

To get the Exchange Server working:

Options/Advanced

(This will need to be done for each account you have)

Options/Account settings/Advanced Server Settings
Network Connection: Work

I have the latest Kavana 6.1 OS. I ran the auto connection setup application for the initial MMS and Data connections. Then I proceeded to the proxy connections and deleted all the new ones, http and something else.

Then made a new T-Zones Proxy

My Settings:

T-Mobile Data

Connects to: Work

Acess Point: wap.voicestream.com

Authentication Type: PAP

(This will be auto-filled with the connection wizzard; no requirement for change)
T-Mobile MMS

Acess Point: wap.voicestream.com

Authentication Type: None

Connects to: Internet

Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080

Connection - The Internet

This will give you acess to the Internet, and to E-Mail support. Furthermore; with the new Java engine running on Kavana 6.1 you can use this to install Opera Mini and run it alongside other Java applications that need an internet connection.

what's the deal with this 5.99 data plan? Currently I have an unlimited sms/mms plan for the entire family plan, and have a $19.99/mo plan on my phone for unlimited data. Is this unnecessary? What's the catch?

HI IM FROM THE HTC HERALD THREAD
BUT ANYWAYS
THE DATA PLAN IS FOR INTERNET
NOT SMS/MMS MESSAGING
YOU CAN USE A MESSAGING CLIENT (AIM, OCZ, MSN, ETC.) WITH THE DATA PLAN

Also, the $5.99 plan restricts the ports you can access essentially to Port 80 (and a couple others). That means only web pages.

If you want to use e-mail, ftp, ssh, etc., you probably need the more expensive data plan.

This is an extreme generalization and may not be correct, but it's close enough. :)

i managed to get it all working. except for windows messenger (wm6.1 windows live sign-on app)

i just made sure my tmobile account had the 5.99 tzones in effect (called to verify) and went to http://www.htcwiki.com/page/T-Mobile+Dash and followed the tzones setup instructions.

works great now.

quick note: it was in fact the wm6.1 connection wizard that gave me all the problems.

i think you have to pay the 20$ to get that to work.

so did you get the e mail to work with the 5.99 proxy? and if so how? cause i thought it only worked if you payed the 20$

I've heard that you can get POP e-mail working via T-Zones. There's a note about it at the end of DashApps (http://dashapps.googlepages.com/), but I haven't tried. I'd rather use IMAP and really, it's not *that* important that I get my work e-mail everywhere I am, lol.

Using a registry editing program, go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSC Setting\[your name for T-Mobile MMS gateway]

Once in here, go to WAP1SendDefaultSize and change the value to 307200. Do the same for WAP2SendDefaultSize. Reboot the phone and it should work. In the MMS settings under "Messaging", you still won't have the option of selecting 300K for a sending size (but your phone will still allow files up to 300K to be uploaded in MMS messages).

well if ur in the US, then just use the "Connetion Setup" program in the Accessories folder of the Start menu. other than that, just do a search on MMS at t-mobiles website to set it up.

Use REGISTRY EDITOR UNDER TOOLS FOLDER OK.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\SizeLimit

change recvlimit1 through 3 to 307200

Jdoggraz is correct. It depends on whether your carrier is T-Mobile or not. Even if your phone allowed for 800K multimedia to be sent, T-Mobile only allows a max of 300K. That's just the standard that they've put in place. It sucks, I know.

This exact same question has been asked so many times. I am pretty sure I even answered it once today in another thread. First try running "connection setup" and select your country and carrier. If that fails try your carriers website to see if they have all the details you need and if that doesn't work just do a search on the main page and you will come up with lots of different information

Here's what I have. Seems to work for me.

Three GPRS connections:
one to WAP network
one to Work
another to WAP network for MMS
all point to wap.voicestream.com

Two proxies:
WAP Network to Internet 216.155.165.50:8080, HTTP
Work to Internet (same settings)

MMSC:
http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
216.155.165.50
8080
WAP network
300k
Wap 2.0

Now that I look at it typed like this, the GPRS connection for MMS might not be necessary since the MMSC settings point to WAP network as well. But since everything's working, I'm not gonna touch it. Hope this helps someone lurking around. I've got working web, MMS, and both yahoo and gmail on imap.

I might be having a noob moment, but why did you pick these values.
I don't know what I have differently than you on my phone, but I'm running Ricky's v23 ROM, and my settings are as follows:

recvlimit1,2,3=1024000
sendlimit1=40960
sendlimit2=51200
sendlimit3=61440
sendlimit4=81920
sendlimit5=102400

also under my

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\MMSC Setting\SampleMMSC

folder I have the WAP1SendDefaultSize and WAP2SendDefaultSize but no mention of a WAP1recvdefault anywhere in there. Also my values that I have for the WAP1... and WAP2... are 307200, the same as yours.

All I am saying is that I wonder where you get these figures. Are these optimal settings? Are they just the settings you have for your phone, what gives? Just curious. Also, can you explain what these values represent?

I was quoting from jdoggraz. The values listed are the ones for each of the selections in the settings dropdown menu. They represent the limits in bytes (1024B=1kB). Beyond that, I have to confess ignorance.

Mine did that ONCE after I flashed Kavana's 080408 ROM. Make sure your MMS and Internet are configured correctly. In my sig, locate the "T-Mobile Wireless Configurations" link. After clicking it, follow the directions to configure your MMS and Internet. Afterwards, reboot and have someone send you a test MMS.

You're using the $5.99 plan and you only have one GPRS connection. That would be a good place to start looking. Now, start looking. There are several sets of settings known to work in most areas, one right above your two posts. There are also some in the wiki for this forum. You might not have everybody jumping all over the question because everyone knows the answers are right in front of you.

Instead of creating a new thread on this subject, it might've been better if you had searched for a thread that already addressed this issue. Just FYI... But as far as your situation goes...did you reboot after making these changes?

My MMS settings are correct, just verified them.

It's crazy...I've always had that exact same problem for 2 yrs. (No audio
for MMS) I followed the T-Mobile Wireless Configurations and now it works fine.
Thanks for the info!!

Have you tried searching for info on changing the MMS sending size? If you want to take off the size limit altogether, then I think you'll have a problem. If you're on T-Mobile, their SYSTEM (not any particular phones) won't allow the sending of any MMS file larger than 300K.

If you somehow get the sending size to exceed 300K...PLEASE LET ME KNOW! lol

If you're having trouble getting the settings above 100k in Ricky's ROMs, check the wiki. The instructions are there.

This may sound ridiculous, but why don't you just change them anyway for the sake of curiosity? Just overwrite the current settings with the ones from the T-Mobile Wireless Configurations link. There may be a number off or a space where one shouldn't be... The user who posted below you said he/she had the same issue until they followed the configurations. :)

It's kinda my job anymore :P

Seriously, I'd love to know a way to get more than 300k over t-mobile's system. Hard to say what the OP wanted, but some of Ricky's ROMs had a built-in 100k limit on MMS that requires a registry edit to overcome.

1. Launch Registry Editor

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\SizeLimit

3. Edit the DWORD values for SendLimit1, SendLimit2, SendLimit3, SendLimit4, and SendLimit5. The values are in bytes, so if you want 300k to appear, you would enter 307200 (which is 300*1024)

Alright. After trying a handful of different configurations, this one appears to be the one that gets me closest to having MMS fully functional. I have however noticed 3 little "quirks," and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on them for me:

1) Even though I appear to be able to both send and receive MMS messages, whenever I choose "Send/Receive" in the MMS menu, I see "Error Synchronizing" up top. Is this normal/ok?

2) When I receive a picture, it is listed as a picture file when I go to the details, BUT I get a "Play/Pause" menu at the bottom and a duration of 10s, wherein nothing happens when I press Play (the bar moves for 10s, but the picture obviously remains still). What is this all about?

3) Occasionally the MMS menu will disappear from my chome panel on my home screen, and I have to reboot the phone to have it appear again. Is this a known bug/issue?

4) I know I said 3, but I have one more question. I'm still a little unclear about this whole business regarding calling T-Mobile to have them reinsert you back into their database. Is this step mandatory, or is this something you would do instead of manually changing the settings? Would doing this solve any of my issues (mainly the "Error Synchronizing" and "picture shows up like video' issue)?

Thanks so much for all of the help!

Hey PM me and I will send you a .doc showing you how to fix it. I would post it on here but I have it saved on my comp at home, so PM and we will get this taken care of asap.

Oh and PM just to let you know is a private message (click on my name jdoggraz above and go to private message) I thought that since you are new on here you might not know what it is so I am just letting you know what it is.

Thanks so much for all of the help!

1) I've had this same issue ever since flashing to 6.1. It doesn't seem to be a big factor, other than the fact that you can't go to Send/Receive. My MMS still continues to work fine (although it takes a HECK of a lot longer than it used to).

2) The MMS pics have ALWAYS done this. Even on WM 6.0, my pictures would show up as if they were videos and "play" for about 10 seconds. I don't know of a solution to get it to stop, but it doesn't really ruffle my feathers too bad. I'm just used to it.

3) I've never had this happen. Hopefully another user can shine some light on this for you.

4) From what I understand, those were select instances where users had to be "re-inserted" into the database. Usually your issues can be cleared up by making sure your connections settings are correctly configured. Your situation doesn't sound as dire as those. You can at least send and receive MMS messages.
