No sound with anything connected ???

I upgraded my XDA IIi Alpine with the Deathnoise ROM. All works well but now there is a strange sound problem.

If anything is connected into the bottom socket then there is no sound from the main speaker, only from the headphone socket.

Even if the other end is not plugged in to anything there is still no sound. As soon as I take it out he sound returns to the main speaker.

I've tried it with a USB sync cable and a mains charger. Sound worked with both before the Deathnoise ROM update.

The update and sound problem may not be linked at all!

I wouldn't be that bothered but not I can't run TomTom in my car and plug it in to the power socket at the same time!

The most likely explanation is a wire has shorted or moved in your power supply cable or the socket and the set now the set thinks it is connected to a car kit. Search the Alpine section of the forum as there is a good reply I remember seeing about the socket wiring.

Its definitely something with the socket on the XDA. I need to open it up for a good look.

Its a pretty annoying problem though. If it had a separate power in socket then I wouldn't to be bothered
