I have a wing and used a custom rom with the touchflo, then i installed touch commander which looks great and works pretty well

However it does seem to use alot of resources as well the loading skin is pretty annoying, the main thing i enjoy most about it is the attractive gui and look to it

Does anybody have any reccomondations as to which to try, i believe this will help others who are also interested in having touch on their ppc

PointUI has very little customization, but is fast and uses very few system resources. I'd personally go with a combination of the two (PointUI and Throttle Launcher) and end up with an awesome phone!

MortButtons - i used Touch commander, but MortButton is way better: has much lower memory footprint, doesn't require .net framework, is fully customizable and has some cool additional features like task manager, ability to access system settings, start menu, and other folders, screen rotation (manual by button or automatic when launching an app), support for 32-bit png's for skins and icons, and more.
At first, it seems a bit confusing, but after spending some time to configure it, it's really great.

Another vote for PointUI. It is extremely usable out-of-the-box with few customization but, heck, it looks so good, you either love it and don't really want to change much or you completely hate it and uninstall it. It can replace the Windows Taskbar as well but I personally prefer Wisbar Advance. Remember, if you use FTouchFlo or FTouchSL (for finger scrolling), add PointUI exe file (Home.exe) into the exception list or you won't be able to scroll in PointUI. And take care not to launch 2 instances of PointUI or it likely will crash. A Mortscript will prevent that.

This is PointUI

I've tried almost all of them and in the end i still end up using PointUI, yeah it does lack quite a bit of customization but i still love the ease and functionality of use in it

I actually like SPB mobile shell...and now that we are customizing it even further it really is pretty smooth and usable with just one finger...has a task manager that u can use easily with one finger and you can get it to look however you'd like...here is some more info on themes and you can get a 15 day trial to see if you like it or not....

Ultimate Launch + SPB Shell 2
I've tried Point UI , but I find it too basic, boring.... you can't customize it

ULTIMATE LAUNCH is the most useful today tool you can ever use
I recommend to buy it

Cheers

PointUI won't attract that much attention as with SPB or Ultimate Launcher because it doesn't have much customization to it. Even if someone starts a thread about it, it will just die off quickly because
1. It's better to get support/brag on the official PointUI forum
2. If you can't customize that much and support is better acquired elsewhere then what else is there to talk about in "Development and Hacking"?

And whatever I have just said is meant to be a compliment. I can't emphasize more that it has smooth animation, beautiful interface, good layout and functionalities right out of the box. It's not about customization, it's about being able to use something quickly straight away.

i plan to try all of these, thanks to all for sharing

now i have something too share and its rather new ftouchsl is a major upgrade to touchflo i find the movements and scrolling much much better as well it has touch corners as well i set the top right corner to close the program

the only downside of this is there is no cube as in touch commander, which is amazing but is too slow

pros it has a great cube
it has the htc touch look to it BUT it uses touch to switch menus by sliding which the original does not do

cons
slow as hell

now i just got to find a cube that i lik

most of the things people posted are actual programs that have touch capability, i was more leaning to make the device an htc touch device for those that dont use the touch roms or any custom roms

the 2 that i tried were touch commander and ftouchsl which both give the scrolling options and the cube in touch commander

ultimate launch was a bit slow on my device so i removed it

i have tried all of the programs, I am not a tekkie by far but I am savvy enough to be able to use the programs.

Point UI, great! The only drawback is the lack of customization, vey user friendly!!

I like IFonz...simple buttons, and if u have a few programs to go along with it...its just like having an iphone...

I think I can pitch in with my observations. I started with PointUI, and quickly fell in love with that. However like someone else pointed out, the lack of customization is a big turn off. Also the occasionally lock-ups make PointUI unusable from time to time. But again it's definitely recommended for beginners.

Then I tried SPB mobile shell 2, it's OK the graphics are not as good as PointUI (before I discovered the theme thread) so after a few days (actually before the trial expired) I uninstalled it.

Then I came across to a thread name i-style, which is just a theme for Ultimate Launcher. I was finally able to achieve what I wanted. However, I still think PointUI deserves attention, even the development kinda stopped at the moment. What UL is great about is because it resides on the today screen, if I press the red key or the OK button accidentally I'm back to what I liked, so I don't have to reload the PointUI or spb menu programs to get back to those beautiful graphics. I believe throttle launcher will offer something similar to UL (didn't try it though).

Just my 2 cents.

Ultimate Launcher would have to take the cake foe me - highly customizable to the extent that you can literally create a cube with infinite sides (> 4) all of which are highly customizable/configurable...
