Hello everyone!

I've brought my Wings back to the store, trying to get my money back to buy an N95(I want internal GPS!), my excuse was the memory leak, which rendered my phone useless.

Anyway, I've got it back today, the guy in the store said that all the internals had been replaced. I noticed the free memory I have is 176xx kB, which is more than I had before, if I'm correct? I haven't installed anything except route 66. I've tried to get the memory leak, I've started IE, mediaplayer and route 66 and closed it, I managed to get to 15xxx kB, but not lower.

How can I trigger the memory leak?

MB, not KB not kB.

How much RAM do you want free? Is it causing an issue, or are you simply dissatisfied with the amount of free RAM you have?

He's trying to use the memory leak as an excuse to exchange his phone through the store, however the store did something to it which seem's (in his case) to have solved his memory issues and now cannot recreate the problems to warrant the exchange.

15xxx is kB. the x stands for another number, which I didn't remember exactly.

k stands for kilo, kiloByte, so that's correct.

If I could trigger the memory leak, that would be "good" for me, but if I can't, that means that it's fixed, so that would be very good for you guys, so if you know how to trigger it(preferably a step by step guide, like which programs you use, and if you browse, which site etc)

I often get memory leak by picking 2M photo, then go to album and zoom it to Actual size. It only works right after soft reset.

I guess it's not fixed then. Now I've only got 89xx kB of free memory left with all the applications closed. If I run media player and go to camera, media player closes on its own.

Damn, if this phone hadn't had this issue, and the gps was not removed, I would love it!

Is the memory leak fixed in the 6.1 ROM posted here?

In my experience, all mobile phones, PDA-phones smartphones suffer memory leak to varying degrees. The more powerful, the more leaks. It is an OS problem and both Symbian and WM suffer it. That is why they all require you to reboot them from time to time. I have used many Nokias and seen the problem.
