I purchased a used HTC Tytn II today, and installed TomTom 6.030 on the device!
Then I noticed that when searching for cities and towns it is alot quicker then my X7500, also it is alot quicker when it calculates the route!
It is the same version installed on both devices and the same maps!
Also both are fresh installed devices, the only difference is that I have the maps on microdrive on X7500 and on sd hc 4 gb card on the tytn II!
Can someone please explain this to me?

I also have both and have found the same thing. The kasier has a newer chip set, has many many different wm6.1 Roms to choose from. Some of the Roms are faster with TomTom than others. While the Athena has very few Roms to choose from. And only two wm6.1 roms, so the Kaiser has that advantage.
Did you look at the thread discussing the setting on the Athena for GPS. EagleSteve posted a thread that basically said to go into settings, and set external GPS settings to the following GPS Programs port to COM8, Hardware Port to COM4, Baud rate to 38400, and Access to Manage GPS Automatically...Then you need to set Tomtom to use COM8 and select Other Nema GPS receiver in TomTom
These settings are for the Advantage/Athena, but also work for the Kaiset/TytnII.

Oh yeah, I have configured my athena with these settings but still tytn II is aquiring a fix lightning fast with the factory default settings, much quicker then athena!
Just tried to play some chess against both machines, I used "pocketgrandmaster" and "toga II v.3.1.2SE" on both devices played 3 games and tytn II scored 2 1/2 vs 1/2!
It is amazing considering that it has a much weaker cpu 400 MHz, against advantages 624 MHz!
I wonder what is going on here?

Different chips, yes, but still there is a very HUGE difference!

One tip I've found which speeds up slow TomToms is to disable the POI's on the 'map' screen. Worked for my super quick Axim x50v and works for my Ameo. Perhaps its the TomTom engine not able to cope with these vga screens?
