Okay, I know I said that v1.5 would be the final incarnation of Tilt XDA Live WM6 Rom and I'm standing by that.
What has changed is that I've decided to make a WM6.1 XDA Live Rom!
This Rom is intended for Tilt Owners who want a light version of the Tilt WM6.1 ROM. The default Keyboard will be CWSLayout (Tilt), you are free to change it.
The Base ROM is at&t 3.51.502.0(AKU 1.0.2) Windows Mobile 6.1 Rom.
It will include the first at&t WM6.1 Radio (1.65.14.06) you are free to change to any WM6.1 Compatable Radio.
It will be debranded cosmetically
I have purchased a second Tilt to dedicate to this project.
Current List of goals:
Registry Tweaks:
* Disable Security Warning for Unsigned Apps & Cabs
* SDK Certificates have been installed
* TCP-IP Tweaks
* Enable GPS Data in Photo Data
* Enable Assisted GPS
* Disable Sent SMS Notification
* Disable In-Call Fast Sleep
* Hide SIM Contacts (yes it sticks!)
* Long Press of RED End Key locks device
* Glyph (GDI/Font) Cache set to Large
* Enabled File System Cache
* Enabled File System Filter Cache
* Disable TouchFLO
* Support Simultaneous BBC & MediaNet Connections
Fixes:
* Support UC (User Customization)
* Button 6 & Button 6 (Hold) defined
* Button 6 assigned to Comm Manager
* Hold Button 6 assigned to Record
* Camera.exe replaced with a “No Camera Message.exe”.
* ReplaceMe.ini file in the windows folder so you can easily make a cab file that causes soft reset by simply overwriting it.
* Adjust PagePool
Remove:
* at&t MediaNet & WAP Data Connections
* MS Office Mobile
* WM6 Default Games
* at&t Push To Talk (v3.00 b408.812)
* HTC Quick GPS (v1.00 b220.821)
* jbed Java
* HTC RealPlayer (v1.00 b810.712)
* Acrobat Reader LE (v2.0)
* HTC Zip (v1.20 b730.720)
* HTC Voice Recorder (v1.10 b130.817)
* Sprite Backup HTC Edition (v5.1.0 b1449)
* at&t Dialer (v1..40 b30728)
* HTC Task Manager (v1.51 b33547)
* ALL at&t bloatware
* Calculator
* Windows Update
* HTC Home Today Plug-In (v2.10 b181.337)
* Media Player Today Plug-In (1.00 b 731.714)
* Slider Sounds
* Slider Applet
* Arcsoft MMS Composer (v5.0.31.16)
* Error Reporting
* Sim Manager (v6.42)
* Sim Toolkit STK crap
* .NET Compact Framework
* HTC Camera Application (v4.08 b30665)
* MS Voice Command (v1.6.19209)

I don't want a list of Apps that you think I should add to it. That's why I'm implimenting UC Support, so you can make this Rom exactly what you want.
If you see something in the base Rom that's not on my list tell me and please be as spefici as possible, point out a post with recommended files/Reg Tweaks etc.
If you want to play with the base, here is a MegaUpload Link (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SITR7KUO).
I've added UC Support and only removed the config.txt file that I needed to replace for it.
I then packaged the OS with Radio 1.65.14.06 (the earlier Cingular WM6.1 Radio). No splash screen or SPL.
Note: it is Rom Chef Friendly meaning that I haven't stripped out any of the files that are needed to cleanly deconstruct this Rom.

anything is good. Just not the new radio unless you are SuperCID unlocked. All joking aside, I'm looking forward to anything. I'm game.

Looks great Kyphur!
"Clean" ROMS are my favorite so I very much look forward to this. I can't see tweaks missing just yet, but I will let you know if I see something.
Thanks and I look forward to flashing to this (would be the first flash for me in months!!!!).

Sounds good to me. WM6.1 is the shizzle.
Going to take a look at your Base and see how its going.

Will you produce the kitchen packages that contain the various items you have stripped out? Or should we use those that Alex has for his 5.2 version? The only reason i ask, is that I expect there are certain older versions of the removed apps that wont work with WM6.1., but are present in Alex's packages.
Other than that, I did not see "remove threaded SMS", so I can safely assume that will be IN - currently using dutty apr16, too many apps there, but I love the threaded SMS.
Time to learn UC and download all my required cabs I guess!

I'm going to compare Version Numbers and anything new will be built into Cab Files so you can install anything that is removed.
Personally I like the Threaded SMS and KaiserTweak is easily capable of disabling it.
Eventually even MS VoiceCommand will be stripped out and converted into a Cab File but for WAREZ avoidance I can't do that until an Official WM 6.1 Rom actually ships with MSVC integrated (but until then I'm not removing the package from the Rom. This is one of those gray areas where we have to watch our step.

Is quick Menu needed? I agree with the 'All Out and install what you want' method, so isn't that just extra?
That's the only additional thing I'd remove.

Since this is an AT&T based ROM please make sure you make the APN/RIL XML provisioning changes I posted so that us BBC users can have simultaneous BBC & MediaNet connections. They XML modification settings can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384242 ;)
Once again, I look forward to the release!
Where on earth you find the time to bake roms while serving us all as a moderator trying to keep the boards clean & orderly is beyond me my friend, but I am certain glad you manage to squeeze it all in!
Thank You!

Hey Kyph,
Out of curiosity, which of the two 1.65 radios are you using? The one in the complete package or the one in the secondary test.nbh?
Oh another thing, I'd beef up the PP a bit. Don't go crazy, but a nice 16mb version seems to be pretty snappy.
I'd also like to see the rgu's left in ;) & the 3.5 fixed version of netcf that MS released in Feb. I also like seeing GPSTest in there, it really helps giving the GPS a kick start & seems to me it works better in rom.
Also, are you planning on using a dialer similar to retouched? I like those better than the big display type as it's buttons are slightly bigger.
Also, get rid of SimToolKit STK junk. & I'm sure you'll make sure it's app. unlocked from the start, right?
I like the really clean ones & I spend my $$$ on good apps, so no need for clear temp or CE explore or registry editors.
Also, what about HTC Home? It definitely works better in ROM, seems screen rotation, etc. is better if it's cooked in.
If you need a hand with anything, any testing or customized (Kyphurized) icons, folder icons, etc. Let me know!

I tried to edit the PP earlier on this ROM but was unable to do so. Are you able to have any luck with it?
You build it we will flash...........
After looking at the list of what's removed.....what's left?
Anyways, I personally prefer clean Romz over loaded....Thanks again, can't wait

Haven't even looked at that yet. PagePool will be towards the end of the list (once most of the other stuff is done).

[/quote]Hey Kyph,

Actually I'm using the Radio that was bundled in the 3.14 at&t Rom
Oh another thing, I'd beef up the PP a bit. Don't go crazy, but a nice 16mb version seems to be pretty snappy. ?
PP is on the list but it will come into play after most of the other stuff is done.

I like to keep .Net CF out of the Rom for things just like that, fixes and such without having to pay twice for updates.
Also, are you planning on using a dialer similar to retouched? I like those better than the big display type as it's buttons are slightly bigger.?
Everyone seems to prefer a different dialer, personally I rarely use the buttons (love VC) and prefer the clean look of the WM Dialer. This is something that is easy for each to install especially now that I'm supporting UC.
Also, get rid of SimToolKit STK junk. & I'm sure you'll make sure it's app. unlocked from the start, right??
Yep, Yep & Yep...
I like the really clean ones & I spend my $$$ on good apps, so no need for clear temp or CE explore or registry editors.?
Seems to be something we have in common.
Also, what about HTC Home? It definitely works better in ROM, seems screen rotation, etc. is better if it's cooked in.?
The version of HTC Home in this Rom seems to be messing with my volume settings, there have been times when I pick up the phone and all sounds are muted. If I disable HTC Home the problem disappears.
If you need a hand with anything, any testing or customized (Kyphurized) icons, folder icons, etc. Let me know!
I've never really skinned one of my Roms but I have been playing with Cooking this one to a Black Theme by default, I just might take you up on this offer.

Kyphur, great to see you're working on a 6.1 ROM.
If you are able to change the PP, try using Quentin's work on q-mobile 1.2:
32MB Page Pool, 8192 File System Cache, 32768 File System Filter Cache, 131072 GDI/Font Cache.
Although I like clean ROMs, I also like everything basic to "work out of the box". And 6.1 ROMs seem to have weird anomallies that are beyond my meager skill, but I am confident that you will make it function. One TINY annoyance that a XDA DEV might know something about comes with the changing of the ringer to vibrate or ring. I use long endkey press to make the switch, but often the ringer is set at 0 while the sound goes back to normal. It would be convenient to have the ringer set to a predetermined volume to avoid this. If easily achieved :)
I also like the battery indicator that Confused Stu uses, VistaHide Battery meter (at top of screen) in mobile vista 1.3.
I only ask for this since I don't know where to find it, but hey... at least I'm willing to admit it.
Thanks for your efforts and letting us have a say in how you cook your ROM. You rock Kyphur!

Quick Menu is part of HTC Task Manager...
Didn't realize that... I've never seen it in any of the other cooked ROMs I've used (even the ones with HTC Task Manager) so I thought it was an option :) Sorry..

I tried to edit the PP earlier on this ROM but was unable to do so. Are you able to have any luck with it?
Just for Gits & Shiggles I ran the PagePool Changer 2.0 on the nbh file and then closed everything out and reopend it, it recgonised the 24mb PP so I flashed it and it flashed fine, so now I'm testing it with the adjusted PP.
What's the best way to confirm what the PP actually is?
When you tried to change it were you using the originall nbh or a rebuilt one?

I've noticed that i get much faster data connections with at&t shipped roms then with custom roms. (I've never gotten a speek over 860kb/sec on a cooked rom) Maybe its some regs, because i've tested the radios and it didn't influence it that much.
So i'm asking if you can keep the media settings and other medianet related stuff in the rom so we can have the speed (got 1.2+mb/sec on at&t's leaked wm6.1 rom)

The PagePool Changer.exe doesn’t modify the Page Pool.
I actually use this post by Dutty to modify the True Page Pool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383621
With the help of Tom Codon, he was able to figure out a way to edit the page pool via a hex editor. Very simple procedure. Easy to follow. However all WM6 and WM6.1 ROM’s up this point have had a 12mb pp by default by looking for a certain hex value. When trying to search for the default value in the AT&T 3.51 ROM, I am unable to find it. I tried looking for a 16, 18, and 24mb pp hex string for maybe a different size page pool value but I was unable to come up with anything.
The check if the page pool has been change I go to the Start > Settings > About and see that my Memory is 95.55MB for a 18mb pp. The default value being 101.1mb or something like that.
Maybe have Dutty or Tom Codon come up with solution to fix this.

I'll be looking forward to this one. Your 1.x ROMs have been my fall back roms ever since I started flashing. I love them lean and clean - so that when things update, it's easy to overwrite with the latest.
only issue I have is finding cab files for some of the things stripped out without fishing through thousands of file shares and posts to figure out which is the latest and greatest. I guess that's part of the game, tho. :D

I've got the Rom cleaned out pretty good, just skimming through the Registry & provxml files.
There is one issue that I must address before I can put this out for you guys to start banging on:
I've "mostly" removed the Customer Feedback thing. All that remains is the control panel applet and 2 items in the notification queue that are tied to activesync. The queue items will cause a recurring error until they are deleted. If I can't get them removed them I'll put the ceipui.exe back in until I can figure it out.
Right now I start out with 168.03 MB of Storage Memory with only a couple of MB used!
There are a few other Control Panel Applets that don't want to be dissapeared like: Error Reporting, Domain Enroll & Managed Programs. I won't hold off putting this in your hands because of them though.
BTW, right now PTT support is removed.
Default Button assignment is:
Button 1 - Internet Explorer
Button 2 - Messaging
Button 3 - <Start Menu>
Button 4 - <OK/Close>
Button 5 - Camera (but no camera is installed)
Button 6 - Voice Command
Button 6 lp - Comm Manager
Both button 6 Assignments also have icons!
I haven't had time to compare the versions of programs in this Rom to see what Cabs need to be made. I should get Arcsoft first unless someone already has it.
I hope to have it ready by Sunday Evening (apr 27th) Chicago Time.

Kyphur, I posted some instructions to get rid of customer feedback in _Alex_'s thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2086847:
1. deleted ceipui.exe from Shell
2. in the .rgu in Shell added "Hide"=dword:1 under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Customer Feedback Shell
3. modded the mxip_notify.vol in Shell with xiv32 (zero out ceipui.exex$AppRunAtNetConnectr and ceipui.exex$AppRunAfterSync as per davidf at anichillus.net)
4. delete everything is SQM except custsat.dll (I moved custsat.dll to Shell to get rid of the SQM folder completely)
5. added <nocharacteristic type="HKLM\System\SQM"/> to provxml in OEM_Lang_0409 (could probably add this entry anywhere, but I wanted it done before first boot and after SYS was processed. If you don't do this you're left with Enable=0 and EnableUI=1 under HKLM\System\SQM. I couldn't find where this was coming from so I kinda cheated.)
So I lied...it's not completely removed, but the phone, poutlook, calendar (anything else?) just won't work without custsat.dll. Any of you guys know what this file does?
I also recently found the following in the .rgu under OEMDrivers:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\SQM]
"Enable"=dword:0
"EnableUI"= dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Customer Feedback]
"Redirect"=""
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\OOM]
"Reserved " = dword:00400000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies]
"00004119"=dword:148
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\SQM]
"EnableUI"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Customer Feedback]
"Redirect"="ceipui.exe"
"Group"=dword:1
If you remove those reg entries then you can skip step 5. Modde mxip_notify.vol attached.

I like this ROM the way it is now. Nice, Clean & Fast. No offense to all the cooks. But, most seem to try and cook to much in. I just rather add items in with a cab.
As for the reg hacks. These can also be added with Advanced Config and KaiserTweak.
Great job!

Kyphur, as you may remember, I used and liked your hermes ROMs. I did a flash of this to test and as previous member wrote, I expected the ATT settings to be there. I was also surprised that after flashing with nothing else added, the free program memory was only 56.21 MB. I expected 70+ in free memory.
Not complaining as so far all else is working.
Looking forward to many ROMs from you.

Since your an AT&T guy might I suggest you use the ATT Settings.cab below.

Kyphur this ROM is running good for me, very quick at opening, installing applications. I haven't noticed any issues thus far. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks ATW, that is exactly what I did (thus my "no biggie" comment). I guess I should have mentioned that in my post ;)
I think I even found the cab in either your (or P1Tater's) downloads.
Thanks much.
