Reported Bugs - to be updated all time....

Problem: Batterystatus sometimes dissapears on today after launching Network wizard....
Soloution: Just reenable BS in start-settings-today-Items


Problem: I don´t need weekview all time
Soloution: Disable ROW "weather" by tapping left when grey area is behind clock!

Don't worry .... Battery will be charged soon enough but I can tell you its very pretty already and I am not even finished adding all my do-dads to it yet.So finally got ITsPapaBlackWeather running, but ran into some difficulties with UC and my cab files.
Had to take out my mSDcard to undermine UC and messing up the ROM installation.

Audio ..... AudioManager nothing more to say. Two thumbs up

Battery ..... So far seems very strong as running wifi , full back light, installing and un-installing, playing with UL and BatteryStatus.
Also had several phone calls.

Blue-tooth ....... Sweet as usual with papas roms as I click bluetooth I dont have to goto add new device it just grabs it and connects.
Has no draw backs as of yet using 3 blue-tooth units on it atm.

Calculator ........ Is working with no flaws. Guess this will be checked for now on as a few have asked on more than 1 occasion about it.

Camera ..... Sweet with the easy settings for storage as you open it the first time

Games ....... Well papa didn't add any folks so you have to do that part yourselves.

MMS ....... NO !!!! Papa how you do this to me .... No MMS ...... Back to that recorder screen .. Arggghhhh....

Phone Key Pad .... Its black like I like but for some reason i wanted more. Like almost a three "D" effect on the keys. Maybe a shine to them as well. Same as in previous version
the keys don't light-up or flash until several key presses later. But now it takes less presses.

SMS ....... Another perfect out the box as we all knew before flashing.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine but I needed duprades fix in order to see the symbols in the correct places. Glad he put that out there.

Voice Command ...... There isn't one added ... I added one, now I am happy.

Wifi ....... Wifi is correctly..... Wifi is flawless.

Windows Media ...... Doesn't want to play much of anything but hey I dont use it .

No MMS ... I cant believe it the MMs has gone now .... Will be using the fix as I need plenty MMS... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384519&postcount=9

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

When going into settings or various different programs and you attempt to close them the comm-manager pops open. Or maybe a better way to explain is when closing various windows that window is also there to be closed. He has fixed that problem as well.

From the comm-manager screen the wifi settings wont open.

Sometimes when programming Ultimate Launch the icons don't show perfectly for a hot second but thats was also present in the last rom so could be associated with UL.

Now remember I tested this on a t-mobile wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

The rom is impressive . Fast moving with the incredible improvements that papas created. I love the weather add on in the battery status. Very pretty and to think papa was playing with it and made about 12 versions before this final one.

And finally someone who doesn't hide the sim contacts even though you can show them. Papa did it as I am totally pleased. A more powerful rom for my phone........ Ok for your phones too .

And of course I love the black ........ Now papa has made his avator his 2nd splash screen so you know its a papa's creation.. And oh WOW !!!!! The HTC Album is awesome with the ability to choose what folder you want to use.

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible. And once again thanks to papa for allowing me to be on the beta testers team . I feel so special now.

And a note to zcink who also has been looking for a newer rom . Mate trust me you will want to test this one out . I believe that papa has gotten it correct. You wont be disappointed. YES zcink I mean this one is a newer rom .... GET IT !!! zcink I am talking to you.

And papa stay on the dark side as its the color scheme I love ......And I never like the cops in the movies anyways I rooted for the bank robbers....

The best is to connect to active sync and browse to \windows\batterystatus\.

Then you copy BSweather.xml to your PC and edit it ther with Editor/Notepad and save your changes and copy it back to your wing.

That's it!


The next time you you have to hard reset you just need to copy the edited .xml back to your wing.

It can't be easier;)

ok so i changed it just like i was suppose to with total commander and it saved it life i viewed with my code and everything and did a soft reset ..and nothing looks different ...do i need to do hard reset???

Yes the weather does show thru it . I haven't used bs weather for the info i have used htc weather and weather panel .

ok now i got everything working good but the slide to unlock even with it set to weather panel or user weather or anything ..... so im still clueless on this but i am like that alot. but r u using just bs weather or did u apply the weather panel separate from the rom

Ok I see you didn't read my reiew mate . In my review I stated what I installed . And for S2u2 i use the readings from weather panel . I even get pictures of clouds or suns ...

Already I see more memory and thats always a plus. Adding my contacts now , messengers and core player .. Now getting ready to test MMS ....

Yeahhhhhhhhhh !!! ... Papa fixed the MMS ... Sweet as pie .. I now can say this is his best black rom to date.

Now I am going to attempt the MMS hack to allow me to send 1200K files instead of only 300K files.

HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
change key : wap2sendlimit1 to 1228800 (1.2M)

HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
change key : sendlimit3 to 1228800 (1.2M)

Then change the settings in MMS . Start > Messaging > Menu > MMS Options > Servers > T-mobile MMS (which is my carrier, if different pick your carrier) . Now goto Send Limit and change the value to 1200K. Click done and you are done.

Testing with 528K file ....... successful.......
Testing with 671K file ....... successful.......
Testing with 770K file ....... successful.......
Testing with 976K file ....... successful.......
Testing with 1.07M file ...... unsuccessful - goes to 99% but then doesn't send.

I believe it will only work thru wifi or true t-mobile net . Thru the proxy doesnt work for everything mate .

Now I am going to attempt the MMS hack to allow me to send 1200K files instead of only 300K files.

Testing with 770K file ....... successful.......

Okay papa used a little bit more memory for what installed lets see how it goes. The button that papa is referring to shows a 0 on my screen until you press it so its not blank here unless the zero just doesn't go away. I believe that to just be a misplaced picture file.

The reg hack isn't set up so i will have to take a look into that just now. OK I think I see the error with the reg hack papa .. The file you was showing me before you went to sleep I need to know the location so I can give you the edits working .

But at least the MMS is still working which we know is a must for me as much as data sharing or what ever you call it is for zcink. Who by the way could not even bring me back a gift or show me any love ... But thats a whole different story .....

Well all else is good as I am testing with a t-mobile wing so other phones may give different outcomes so people PLEASE POST your findings.

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

I haven't installed any software yet not a single item as I wanted to test the rom fresh .. The buttons are an improvement papa waiting to see the next release...

Waiting for the top bar edits , the audio player with your pretty buttons .. nd what other little tweaks do you have papa .. You know I will flash anything you have so I am here waiting ....

But last but not least I also adore the black keyboard. Its the perfect match for ITsPapasBlackWeather rom ...

1. copy content of folder to \batterystatus\default\

2. copy defautl.xml and overwrite the old

3. go to HKLM\Software\VJ555\vjtoggletoday\taksbar and set value to 1 (default is 26)

BUT after using the HW keyboard the default taksbar come supo again...

Maybe someone find out why??

4. After taskbar is shown again... go to \program files\toggletoday\vjtoggle and run it

OR

Assinge to hardwarebutton for toggle back to "new taskbar"

I noticed when I have the Metrix on my Today Screen it seems to conflict with BS. Bs disappears everytime I soft reset.

The roms got some nice visual enhancements and BatteryStatus with BSWeather looks beautiful and should be easy to configure. I can't image why some people having trouble with this. Three ThumbsUp from me... :D

To me it apears, that BSWeather was coded in a very dirty way. As soon as www.weather.com does any changes to their webpage, the filter of the application are unable to fetch relavant data from the source.

The coder(s) of BSWeather can fix this problem bei modifying their filters to the new structures of weather.com, but this also will only help it in a very temporary manner. As soon as weather.com does any changes again, the Application will run into the same old trouble.....

Pappa: I'd recommend to remove of BSWeather from the ROM. It will only annoy people by having software in the rom, that doesn't work and has to be updated freuqently.

papa added the NY in the weather line of the 2nd city ... upon removing it and clicking the display to get the batterystatus popup I press reload theme .... Now the problemis solved .. So far I dont have the error no more ...

Ok Now I get the error when pressing the top of battery status the main sun / cloud or what ever icon you see .... So the fix fixes the pressing on the 2nd display line ... Let me goto the other part of the script.

Its not just that ... The error totally came back so it must be the default script. Looking for the old one to test and see.

Ok papa .. Its not the script I went thru it .. Then it dawned on me .. The reg edits you played with ..... They are causing a communications error. As with instant messenger it wont work and sens a strange text message ... So the registry needs to be corrected.

Ok papa .. Its not the script I went thru it .. Then it dawned on me .. The reg edits you played with ..... They are causing a communications error. As with instant messenger it wont work and sens a strange text message ... So the registry needs to be corrected.

tell me what registry... and tell me why it is working a few hours before and without doing anything it stops working????


btw - i never played around with regedits AFTER it was working!!! so why should there be an error without editing?

palringo uses wifi ..... So that works fine .... never actually had any other messenger work off with out internet on the phone as I dont have internet ...

It did launch and worked in Toch-IT 7.1PB.
I guess it has something to do with .NET CF, but you got it in there so I'm not sure what exactly it is then.
