Hello XDA! Let's start off with a few thanks. Pof, Jscepi, Kyphur, Bepe, XDA for all the tools and knowledge. Cuboosh, Sirooga, Packetmangler, Tdusen, Drbowden, IDJ and everyone from my 3.02 thread for helping me work out the bugs. Without further ado:

This rom starts where my older roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369980)left off as far as "stripped down-ness" :D. My roms have AT&T connnection settings by default so no need to install and run HTC Connection Setup if you are an AT&T customer. Keyboard is Tilt layout so install KaiserKeyboard.cab attached below to change to Kaiser layout. Now onto the deets:

3.53.DK.02

- All Tweaks removed (cab included in rar)
- Removed Comm Manager (cab included in rar)
- Put back SIM Manager
- Clear Storage runs after flashing (no need to hard reset, but I still recommend you do)
- Overall more refined (I started from scratch on this one to work out some bugs)

3.53.DK.01

- starts where 3.51.DK.01 left off, nearly identical
- custsat.dll replace with no2chem's dummy file
- AUTD in CommManager replaced with 3G Toggle, cab also available below

3.51.DK.01 (4/24, radio not included)

- starts where 3.02.DK.05 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369980) left off
- removed help files from OEM_Lang_0409
- removed bmp's associated with help files
- removed DRM from OEM_Lang_0409 and SYS
- removed several dll's that are a part of Audio Manager and Streaming Player
- replaced NetCF 3.5 and SqlCe 3.5 with NetCF 2.0 and SqlCe 3.0 (for compatibility)

Stuff I noticed in 3.51:

- Addition of disptools.dll in OEMDrivers with new registry settings to go with it! I have no idea what this does and I'd love it if someone could enlighten me.
- AutoShortcut.exe and a shortcut to it that gets place in StartUp. Don't know what this does either.
- HTCCpl.cpl changed to MyCpl.cpl and mxip_HtcApps_translation.provxml reflects those changes. These cpl's control some items under "Settings".
- New bluetooth registry settings! not sure if this is related, but the blue light no longer turns on when you reset.
- What happened to the Program memory? 85.32 down from the usual 101.32.

Issues:

- Microsoft Voice Command versions older than 1.6.19209 will cause lockups.
- Typing area does not show with IM+.
- No video when using CorePlayer in QTv mode.
- I don't use TCPMP, but I'm guessing this still does not work either.
- Using cleartype in landscape mode causes text to disappear.

I've started to mod my cabs to install to their own folders under \Program Files instead of \Windows whenever possible to keep the directory as clean as possible. 3.51 has 814 objects in \Windows after flash and opens wicked fast through File Explorer. Voice Command still seems to be in the grey area for posting so PM me for the my new 19209 version that installs to \Program Files\Voice Command. Help files are removed from my new cabs. Cabs attached below with more to come.

Update: There were some issues with 3 of my cabs and I just removed them from my first post. I will re-up them to my second post once I fix. I need to apologize to the 23 members that downloaded HTCQuickGPS 1_00_220821_00, the 17 members that downloaded MSInternetSharing 6.0 and the 15 members that downloaded MSRemoteDesktopMobile 6.1.

People might check THIS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381292) link to get TCPMP working on your ROM.

Have to admit that I haven't tried it with your ROM. There are at least 3 new ROM's available from the last two days. So I have to check out a lot :p

No. Didn't have any requests for this so never thought to include it. Give me a few minutes and I'll make one for ya.

Edit: I just took a look at your instructions for "Multiple Data Sessions" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2106696). Was about to make a new rom when I checked my registry. If the only change that needs to be made is:

then my rom is good to go for BBC. Happy flashing! :D

I just reflashed to the 3.02 because this one kept locking up on me. I don't me SOD either, I mean total lockup with the backlight on full brightness for 5-6 minutes...

I might try the multi connection ROM shortly.

Did you install Voice Command? Using any version other than 1.6.19209 will cause your phone to lockup. Took me a while to figure this out, but found it installing 1 proggy at a time. Also, radio 1.65.14.06 is required.

I didn't know the order of flashing mattered? I flash my phone so much while testing my rom before release that I lose track of these things. I do however always do a master reset after each flash.

Anyways, let me know how it goes. I've been using this rom since yesterday without any issues.

i think it might since it hung during startup before i put the radio on.

reflashed the radio & then the rom a little while ago. loading up my apps to see if i get locks again

Right, well I found out what's killing it.

BB Connect seems to be making it die, which makes me wonder if it's the data connection or BB Connect...

EDIT: Loaded Alex's "clean" ROM & it doesn't seem to have the same issue.

EDIT2: Can't get BBC to connect on Alex's ROM, so 3.02 it is for a while longer...

Loaded this new ROM on my AT&T Tilt and notice a weird issue (didn't have this with the previous version). In regular mode typing text via the onscreen keyboard is visible. When I switch to landscape mode all text that can be typed disappear or it doesn't appear until you go to a new line. I noticed this when I went to enter my Personal Information.

Otherwise it's working fine for what I use on the device so far.

I didn't understand you at first, but I think this may be by design. Just to be clear you are saying that you type using the on screen keyboard entering your Owner Information and when you switch to landscape the on screen keyboard closes until you tap the screen again. I think I do remember the on screen keyboard staying open in landscape before.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon. If not I will have to revert to plan B.

At what point does it lock up? Installed the software to my Tilt, ran through the initial setup, soft reset when it told me to and now I have a blackberry tray icon. I click on the tray icon and I have several tabs. I've attached a few screenshots. The cab I used to install it is to big to attach, but I downloaded it from here (http://www.htc.com/us/mobile/connect/8925/install/default.html).

I didn't change the pagepool on this one, but it looks like the 3.51 default it 28MB as opposed to the usual 12MB.

At what point does it lock up?

It's locking up as soon as it gets to the desktop. That happened with the following:

1) Flash ROM
2) hard reset
3) Install BBC

Nothing else was loaded. Not sure why it was doing that. I'll try one more flash & redownload the CAB to see what happens.

EDIT: yeah, that didn't work either. new flash, load of bbc, & locked again at the today screen.

no response to hardware keys or touchscreen for several minutes now... :confused:

So you didn't even get to the reset or to the screens I was able to get to? One thing I do after flashing is I remove "AT&T ISP" from connection settings. My data plan doesn't work with that connection so I end up using "Media Net". Not sure if this would change anything though. It really shouldn't. This is what I have installed on my phone:

Everything is installed on main memory. I installed everything yesterday except for BBC. After installing BBC my phone did slow down a bit, but no lockups. I wish I could help you figure this out, but it's just not happening to me.

Anyone else having any lockup problems?

I have had this same problem with Alex's new rom. Just noticed it today, since i flashed last night but was then out of cell range all evening.

installing to main memory. after the install & "reboot" there is a service that runs & sets up a data tunnel to RIM to retrieve email.

works fine on the 3.02 & 3.14 ROMs & also on the uncooked 3.51 ROM

Great to see you solved your problem. I think since the rom base has a newer version of the dll that improves photo quality you shouldn't be installing HTC's cab anyways.

No you can't because of bepe's tool that I run to combine all the dsm's and rgu's, but I'll upload the folders on Monday (5/5, US time) for you and anyone else that want's to mod and cook. Glad you like my rom.

One thing. I used Kyphur's tool to change my page pool to 18MB and my rom is faster. See his thread for details.

Was trying to download the camera update for it since after I unlocked my phone, the camera on it decided that it wanted to start sucking and become choppy and the furthest thing from smooth.

Unfortunately it says the following when I try to install it on the phone:

"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Haven't really noticed too much of an improvement from 1.65.14.06. I've been running on Edge since my 3.51 rom and my battery lasts forever. The only time I turn on 3G is when I browse with Skyfire or when I use Internet Sharing.

Are you using my cab from the first post on my rom? There should be no reason for you to get an "Installation was unsuccessful" message. If you're not using my rom then make sure your phone is app unlocked.

: Disable Fast Sleep - screen does not shut off quickly during calls
: Disable Not Certified Warning - no warning when you install cabs or run exe's
: Disable Sent Notification
: File System Cache - 8192 - bytes
: File System Filter Cache - 31768 bytes
: GDI/Font Cache - 131072 bytes
: Keyboard Backlight Timeout - 30 seconds
: Show Battery on Title Bar instead of Clock
: Tilt Keyboard Layout

One tweak I stopped using is the aGPS assist. I ran into a huge problem up in Big Bear, CA. If you enable this option and you lose cell reception you also lose GPS fix.

The only other tweak I use is changing the left softkey from Calendar to Messaging. I use a single cab to change this and add shortcuts to some programs that don't require installation. I flash my phone so much testing my roms that it became too much of a hassle running KaiserTweak all the time.

OK, but I would like to have the 3.53 ROM Base for cooking.

One tweak I stopped using is the aGPS assist. I ran into a huge problem up in Big Bear, CA. If you enable this option and you lose cell reception you also lose GPS fix.

The only other tweak I use is changing the left softkey from Calendar to Messaging. I use a single cab to change this and add shortcuts to some programs that don't require installation. I flash my phone so much testing my roms that it became too much of a hassle running KaiserTweak all the time.



Didn't realized you had all these already in there. I used it for a few other things but nothing major. Good to get a list of your tweaks as it's most of what I change anyway. I'm all good now! :)

Was away for a few days right after I re-flashed the 3.53.DK.01 version. While I was away I noticed the "disappearing" text once more. This happens when I enable cleartype. It only happens when I have it in landscape mode. I attached a few pictures.

I tested this with the "Owner Information", composing SMS, and Note. In Notes and Owner Info, if the text is there it does not appear when I switch to landscape (Notes seem to only affect the last word as some of the text appear, if I continue typing nothing appears, however, the text is there when I switch back to Portrait). In SMS there are weird characters that shows up (see pic). With the owner info you can see I highlight the text that's there... when I switch back to portrait the text reappears. Also, while in Notes the menu doesn't display the text properly either. This seems to be true for all the apps I've tested so this is affecting most if not all apps.

If I disable Cleartype this does not happen. I even did this by not installing any programs after a hard reset just to make sure one of the programs that I'm installing is causing this. The same thing occurred with the prior version.

I'm going to flash Mobile Vista to see if I have the same problem.

Hope this can shed some light on the issue. Not sure if anyone else is having the problem.

I think this is actually a known issue with this build. Seen it in other threads as well.

hey if anyone that has downloaded 3.53 ROM and SYS folders wants to put them up on 4shared, that would be greatly appreciated, i have been trying to use rapidshare and even though happy hours are active my files freeze after 354 kb downloaded and i have been trying for three hours changing my ip address after each attempt so i could try right away. thanks in advance.

This is probably not the answer you want to hear, but like sirooga said it really looks like a bug with 3.53 and 3.51 AT&T roms. I was able to duplicate the disappearing text issue.

As for why Leo's rom doesn't have this problem I was checking out his rom (the L26 with AT&T 3.53 base) and it is built from parts of 3.53. It's kind of a hybrid. 1.64 and 1.58 radios work with his 3.53 rom, but 1.65 radios will not. My rom is pretty much AT&T's 3.53 rom stripped down with a few tweaks. Only a 1.65 radio will work.

When and if I figure out what from 3.51 and 3.53 is screwing up the text in cleartype landscape I will let you know.

no problem on this. It's all part of the fun. Was just wondering if I was the only one having the issue. :)

Still have the issue with Cleartype and Landscape mode so I guess it's a bug in the ROM. Oh well. ROM worked great otherwise.

EDIT: hey guys, I screwed up and left one of the AT&T settings in. with my 3.53.DK.02 rom you can't use a ringtone larger than 600k. to fix this install the cab attached. it will change the limit to unlimited. again, sorry guys.
