I am still using the Hybrid since its working like a charm. Never saw 2mA of CPU idle current (measured by BT) in any ROM before.

The april hybrid is one of my best Roms, I couldnt have done nothing more to it, Reason why its a great build is that 5.2.19716 is ported wm6.1 WHICH makes it very good to use as its like a wm6 rom, so igo and other stuff would work without no issues.

there are new build coming out which seems as if it will be causing a lot of issues not sure if these are done purposely by microsoft/ carriers to make sure thier customers will stick to thier own roms and not to use others. If this build also gives issue then I will start focussing my roms on thee 5.2.19716 and not to worry about the newer builds

it seemed to me that they used to work perfectly only when preinstalled in the rom

eg. when entering names in the To:____ field in sms using HTC TOUCH keypad it used to work

I have had several of Dutty's ROMs. Each was good. The only exception is with the dialers. I have an AT&T tilt. The video call does not good and I really miss speed dial. Is there a cab somewhere that has a dialer more for the AT&T version?

I also encountered the GPSFix problem....I just installed the .cab and it works fine now....also, I have a few MMS registry files that I use in order to get my MMS to work properly and fast....

My problem is that in your past ROMS when I clicked on a .reg file it imported it automatically. When I try to import my .reg files now it will now work???? I have tried regedit (program on ROM) and Resco Registry ...any ideas.

I just wanted to second that vote for an integrated touch keyboar/keypad. I didn't realize that you can get the autocomplete for addresses to work if its integrated.

I'd really like to see that. Been using the keypad for a while now but I really miss that. Any chance you can throw it into the update you're working on right now since it's not something we can add on afterwards (at least with the same results)?


Edit: Just continued reading through the posts in reverse order and saw a few votes for the default OEM keyboard. Doesn't seem like that adds much value (not to mention the fact that it can't be used well w/o a stylus) since you can easily add it on afterwards and have the same features. If you integrate the touch keypad we'd be gaining the autocomplete that we can't have otherwise. Phonepad is an easy add-on too I believe (last I tried on a 6.0 ROM at least). Just a relative noob's 2 cents though...

I'll stick with the OEM keyboard (just that everything is right there at once is nice).

I also think this one is very snappy and quick to respond. livesearch not included but easy to add back in. havent' tried voicecommand yet or bluetooth....Hope it all works like the last few releases.

In previous versions GPS quick fix had no effect, despite loading sat positions. On all radios for 6.1. The older radios quick fixed correctly, but had the no-sound problem. In the end I had to go back to original ROM.

Did you fix that issue in this version? Do you get a cold fix in less than 10s ?

If not, I'm staying with the original ROM. - GPS is more important than the rest.

Everytime I flash a new ROM, I am not able to login to my email. It says it can connect with current settings. To change current settings, tap Settings. Ok, how do I change my settings? What should I do? I have AT&T if that makes a difference.

You're the friggin man. Thanks for including the touch keyboard. Looking forward to my first 6.1 upgrade. Haven't flashed since your third (or maybe 4th) 6.0 because it worked so smoothly and wanted to wait for all the 6.1 kinks to get worked out. I think we've hit that point through all the hard work by you and others on the board.

Maybe I'm the last one on the train here but I've pretty much come to the conclusion that without quickgps the gps is doomed to a long cold fix after a 15 to 20 minutes of non use. The warm fix is less than 10sec. You would think that after the gps had a fix it would update its almanac data (without having to use quickgps everytime). My Garmin works this way. After a good fix even cold fixes, from the same location, are 30 to 60 seconds.

Is there a way to get word suggestions to pop up horizontally instead of vertically. All this keyboard talk reminded me of this. Take it back somewhat. Initially very sluggish now after a bit of use seems to be "hanging" much less.

GPS got a lock from cold in under a minute first try and indoors as well.

Maybe should give it a chance, was ready to ROM again, but now taking to it.

I really dont see a difference in this rom's build compared to apr 09's build. I know theyre different builds but both are the same for me as speed, stability, responsiveness, etc. The only difference is after installing and running quick gps and getting a download, then running gps test with full 3g coverage outside with no skies, over 20 min and still no gps lock. Under the same conditions and same radio i got a lock in under a minute but indoors with less coverage from the apr 09 rom/build. I also feel that the apr 09 was far better then the supposed fixed apr 16 version which came with a host of even more problems. If Dutty is looking for a stable and fast rom to really detail and craft, id say go with the apr 09 rom and build from there. I tried atw apr 09 versions with 12mpp, 18mpp, and 32mpp and wow, the 32mpp is by far the fastest!

Yep, still after 60 minutes of being outside under no clouds with quick gps downloaded, gps test still cant get a lock. Looks like gps isnt working fr mehere in california on this rom under the att network with niki radio. Like i said before, apr 09 rom build got a lock with worse conditions, same niki radio, in under a minute! Thats the rom im going back to, apr 09 with 32mpp from alltheway's download site.

1.58.11.07 niki radio. It gives me better 3g coverage and better batery life then the other niki radios and polaris radios for me in southern california. Also gave me a strong gps lock with apr 09 rom well under a minute. I finally got a gps lock on this rom after 2 hours of gps test, way too long in my opinion!

Thank you for the dialer suntzu. I have a tilt also and it works great. I must have flashed 100+ times in the last month but feel that I too am done as this cube rom is perfect for me. I love the Bluetooth toggle, I use it at work a lot. I used such an old version that I had to leave the screen on with light setting all the way down until I discovered Duttys roms some time ago.

My phone still boots but the touch screen now looks like a damn lava lamp with all of the oil stcuk in the screen. The screen doesnt respond to touch but it does respond to everything else. The one that came with april 16 release takes around 5 minutes for me to get a gps lock. Alltheway, any suggestions?? and secondly alltheway do i need to reapply your attsettings.cab with this rom or for that matter with every rom that i load on my tilt or is that cab specific to duty's april 16 release?

Ok. Tater, I say if they cannot fix it for under $200 get a new Tilt from AT$T. Then use channon's Disassemble guides, clean it and replace the LCD. Then you can have two!! Damn, that sucks tater! There was a few times where i almost dropped my phone in the shitter. If u can get a new one for only 200 bucks then id say go do that! Its gonna cost u at least 100-175 bucks to ship it somewhere to be fixed and im sure it wont be as good as new when it does get fixed. U work on cars so u should know, if u get a car thats totalled and fix it to new, you new it will never run the same way it did off th factory line brand new. Id go with a new one bro. Im thinking myself of getting my 3rd refurb phone for free before my 1 year is up cus the chrome cheaply made thumb pad seems to stick a lot wen i press it up. Only when i press it up it sticks. This phone is pimp by far but they really werent thinking when they put this cheaply made chrome plastic thumb pad/keys on the front of the phone. Oh well.

All my other data works but for some reason HTC Home will not download weather data. I get "Unable to retrieve data for selected city. Select here to retry." I tried multiple cities and changing the database with HTC Home Customizer but no joy. All my other data (browsing, file transfers, etc.) seems to be working properly. I'm on AT&T but I noticed that the first time data connects it states that it's connecting to "MEdiaNet GPRS, 3G" which is kind of odd to me. I did the AT&T auto config but that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

...But most importantly, thanks for the awesome ROM! Can't wait to play with it some more and I like the cube a lot.

I decided to abandoned this build because of some issues I'm having so i will upload 6 x variants of the 5.2.19209 build again same stuff but with some changes.

5.2.19209 is the last public official build and its faster than 5.2.19400
all sip issues are gone now from my last rom
oem and touchkeyboard now integrated users can decide
igo works with htc home plugin enabled [will tell you how later]


just to make things clear 3x variants will be compatable with the latest 1.65.17.10 radios but radio will not be included in the rom for people who are stuck with that radio can flash

There are better ways to voice your opinion ....... Is the fact that your GPS takes more than 10sec to lock the only reason that "this rom is no good"....

Sorry - your're right; the ROM is good, but none of the Radios allow for GPS Quick fix positions to be recognized properly, or have the expected outcome - which is to deliver a quick fix in 10s even on cold fixes.

My Tytn II is the standard French edition, and with the original W6.0 ROM, the first and all cold fixes take exactly 10s outside in clear sky. None of the new 6.1 radios do this. The results are the same as having no GPS quick fix positions loaded. Of course I can put in the original French radio, but then I get the no-sound problem.

Now one of the main reasons I got a TytnII in the first place is for integrated GPS. The reason I chose over Eten, is because of better quality, but if in the end there's no GPS quick fix, it's useless for me. I can't wait 4 minuts in the middle of Paris before I know where I'm supposed to go. I need to know instantly. I find it unacceptable and very annoying to have no quickfix effect. Hey, GPS is one of the main features of Kaiser, don't you agree?

Don't know....I have seen quite a few ROM's but never seen anything near what you mention.. not even on the OEM ROM that came with my Vario.

You may install another version of HTCHome. There are many Cab's around.

I assume Radio 1.64.08.21 is incuded (if You look at the file name when downloading see Dutty's 2nd post).
If You don't like that version You just flash the radio the same way as You flash the ROM...

Pleas note that radio 1.65.14.06 and 1.65.17.10 is NOT compatable with this ROM (according to Dutty's 2nd post).

Hi all, quite new to flashing ROMS but did it with Dutty's last one on April 16th (which was brilliant, thanks Dutty!) and now I have a question.

If I do a backup using my SPB Backup software, then flash the ROM to this new cube version (Which sounds cool, never seen it before), can I then put the backup file back on my newly-flashed Tytn II, and it will have all the same programs installed on it as before?

I don't see how this is possible when the backup file is only about 16MB!

Ok, dont laugh. I like to build motors on the side and I had an accident. I dropped my damn phone in a bucket of brand spanking new Castrol GTX 10w/40 oil. My phone still boots but the touch screen now looks like a damn lava lamp with all of the oil stcuk in the screen. The screen doesnt respond to touch but it does respond to everything else. I know, I know, what a damn idiot. Anyway, do you have any ideas as to where I can send it to get it cleaned or whatever that won't cost me the price of a new one. I can get a new one via AT$T for $200. STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!! It ain't damn funny. LOL. Anyways, what do you guys think I should do? Besides be a little more careful with my phone.

Change the screen yourself, it will cost you less than $100 and there is/are instructions on how to open it in here just search. You can change the screen and clean it up along the way. Screen are available in Ebay. I changed mine and it took me less than an hour to change the screen I cracked. Hope you have the same luck...

I throw Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2.cab into my SDConfig. Try a search on on that and give it a try.

Someone provided a link to the file in a later post. While it is a huge improvement, the dialer that really worked best for me had three extra buttons, not 2. It had speed dial, call history, and backspace. The Wizard dialer only has call history and backspace.

Ouch. My slider broke after a sumersault and I over paid some place in CA $80 for the part out of desperation to repair...myself. If you have the tools (Harbor Freight for workable cheapos) I suggest this site for inexpensive parts:

I think the one you want may be the file I attached in post #99 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2151844&postcount=99). Not sure though, but try it out.. It's the HTC Touch_Dual_Dialer_for_Kaiser (Red Skin)

For instance if I try to type "!", I get an "@"... when I try to type ":", I get a "%" and so on. Is there a fix for this that I haven't come across?

Also, the "ActionScreen" that's activated by the left softkey from the Today screen gets cut off when the keyboard is open... but it's still possible to scroll down and activate the off-screen options.

Before I release the fix rom, what keyboard do u guys prefer

1. htc phonepad
2. htc Touchkeyboard
3. oem default

HTC Touch keyboard, please! one handed t9 is so crucial while driving!! hey dutty, have you heard of a way to have just the slightest teeny tiniest vibrate while touching the on screen keyboard buttons? Similar to the LG Voyager? Its a great substitute for not having any tactile feedback.

I just wanted to second that vote for an integrated touch keyboar/keypad. I didn't realize that you can get the autocomplete for addresses to work if its integrated.

I'd really like to see that. Been using the keypad for a while now but I really miss that. Any chance you can throw it into the update you're working on right now since it's not something we can add on afterwards (at least with the same results)?


Edit: Just continued reading through the posts in reverse order and saw a few votes for the default OEM keyboard. Doesn't seem like that adds much value (not to mention the fact that it can't be used well w/o a stylus) since you can easily add it on afterwards and have the same features. If you integrate the touch keypad we'd be gaining the autocomplete that we can't have otherwise. Phonepad is an easy add-on too I believe (last I tried on a 6.0 ROM at least). Just a relative noob's 2 cents though...

I agree wholeheartedly on this issue. Fully functioning default OEM keyboard can easily be added to any rom. Fully functioning Touch Keypad cannot. Please make it the standard! Plus its sexy as hell!

Well, my previous PDA, a HTC Blue Angel, ended up in the toilet half way through doing my business! I was drunk and missed my pocket when trying to put it in!! :o At least it was insured so the money i got back went to buying my Kaiser!! :D

Greetings: Thanks Dutty for the always excellent work! I'm having a problem with my email. Following the sending of an email, the email disappears from my "sent items" folder. In the setup, as usual, I have it set to "keep copies of sent items in Sent folder", but it's there for only a few seconds, then it goes somewhere. I still have the same AT&T settings as before, and I've also checked my web server's SENT folder (just in case it synced there or something), and the sent emails are not there either. I use this as a business tool and I need to save all of my sent emails. They're NOWHERE to be found...

Any help is appreciated...

Edit: Scratch that, HTC Task Manager doesn't work, going back to an earlier April ROM.

Task Manager seems to work fine after disabling/re-enabling it in settings. I'm running this ROM with no issues so far. Will probably upgrade to the newer (?) one once Office is working again...
