View Full Version : All but one WM6.1 rom freeze at boot after installing (Japanese) IME

First, one installs Japanese display (font) support with Asukal's LetsJapanNo5x (http://www.asukal.jp/WM5/LetsJapanNo5.zip). I know there is LetsJapan6 but it makes no difference. This works very well with all the roms.

Then to get Japanese input support (for both type and draw), one must install Asukal's IME_31J_F (http://hn801.hkes.com/Data/SIP/IME_31J_F.zip). But after installing the IME and rebooting, the following 6.1 roms freeze on boot:

6.1.5.2.19208.1.0.2 - Ranju's v7.6
6.1.....19188...... - v4.1 thingonaspring
6.1.5.2.19209.1.0.2 - PDAViet
6.1.5.2.19202.1.0.0 - frank_zhang911

Cannot get past the boot screen (not even to the Windows screen). After a while the backlight goes off, then turns on for a couple of seconds and goes off again by itself. Responds to keys by showing a white screen. =( However, DarkForce / mrwang 6.1 19174 rom does not suffer from this problem. Unfortunately the DarkForce rom (practically) requires 128MB so I cannot use it and Ranju's and thingonaspring's roms would be perfect.

What's wrong with the all of the roms? What's wrong with the IME cab which has always worked with WM5 and WM6.0? To make things even more strange, right after installing the IME it asks to reboot. If I don't reboot I can use the IME. Everything works. Reboot, freeze, brick. Is there any way to see what's going on during the boot?

Alternatives that do work a litte...

- Drawing input Ookii SIP (http://ookii.org/software/japaneseinput/). Unfortunately it ignores the keyboard and doesn't do kana to kanji conversions.
- Old Bagoj's IME (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=891893&posted=1#post891893) with the annoying floating little window. Works at least on Ranju's rom (some other rom couldn't handle multibox etc. SIPs).

However, nothing beats Asukal's IME, it's perfect. Is there any way to manually fix the problem, why does the boot get stuck?

Thank you
