Ok gentleman. The guy that made the post about the dual OS iPh**e is not lying! I own a Computer Prog. Company in Kingsport TN that doe sub contract work for Sony Inc. The guys actually called and told my assistant to give me a message about it but I blew it off. They came to my office four times and I finally met with them. This things real. Three of my techs here checked it out and its no joke. Everything the kid said holds up. Weve had it three days now and still dont know alot. Not used to PPC's. We specialize in programming for Sony products, Laptops, Playstation etc. The kid told me about this sight and said some gelp may be available. Heres what weve got so far. On startup it brings up a dual bootloader screen. The htc versions is running amazing. Its running overclocked at 623mhz while the radio still runs at normal rate. This is strange because there is no type of over clocking software anywhere on the device. Also accelerometer is inactive on htc rom. Screen/light sensors work on both. iPhone side. Safari is somehow flash and java enabled. itunes is not here anymore. Its actually registered thru apple for warranty which im sure is void. works on gsm network as well as cdma like it says. now internal time. remember my techs are not ppc specialists. It appears ro have two processors tied into each other. one is original one appears to be custom. also there is some extra wiring tied into the screen running off an unknown circuit board which was def placed there aftermarket style. Also the everything seems to be somehow tied into this circuit board & and the board is a phenomenal custom job. Like I said, we do hot specialize in programming for ppc. I am willing and have rights to send this to an experienced and I mean GENIUS, programmer to work with this. Only condition is you must reside in the US OR CANADA, and you must sign a predrawn contract which you may print off, sign, and scan and email or fax back. It just says you will send it back, working or not. By the way, I contacted the creator of this & the reason it wasnt online or advertised is due to apples long arm. Why should it not be posible with dual boot. Apple did it with their computers and said it could not run Windows then someone figgured out how to and they released theire version. now the iphone maybe can do the same. Apple are prob just waiting for someone to do it for them before releasing their own version. Why they wait... well they might not wan't to be the once making it work as it might seam like an attack on MS. And by doing these dual boot they get costumers that are using MS products to swap to Apple because they can us the MS on Apple iPhone or computers. this way Apple gets a part of a market they would not gotten with only their OS running.

but yes I'd like to see some real prof of it working before I will be convinced... but it's possible that it's true. Because Jobs wants a bigger marked :D

on first glance its almost like the post was written from an iPhone or a touch screen winmo device. That said, the likelihood that it is a possible theme customization for the iphone is pretty high and not a modded htc device. Most developers, even the ones that develop themes for iphones, also display their pictures and such. So um...

This is highly suspicious if it is legit, prove it.

i do not know nor have i ever met this poster, and if he thinks my idea is plausible then i thanks him. now on to other matters; as for the guy who spoke of porting the WM6 ARM9 processor to the iphones ARM11 there has never been a time when a OS complained of having too much resources as i dont think that would be a problem. if you search the threads and read my original post you would see that i threw out a hypothetical and asked if it was possible and then asked if (and gave praises to the intelligence) anyone could do it. then i spoke of dual booting the iphone and provided links where the iphone has been partitioned, jailbreaked and running 2firmware, heck i even threw in a firmware builder link so if anyone just wanted to modify a iphone firmware to be WM6 then they could do that; again all i see you doing is swapping the system files, Mac HD for windows folder etc.

No one is trying flame you frasbyte (well, I'm not), but the fact is your idea is highly unlikely to ever happen. I won't say it's impossible, but the chances of it happening are slim to none.
There are several reasons why, chief among them is that Apple is Apple and we have no detailed information on the iPhone's internals. People need to be able to write drivers for every peice of hardware on the iPhone in order to port WinMo to it, and I don't see that happening ever.

Consider this: why do you think you don't see many WinMo phones getting linux ported on to them? Because it's too hard to write new drivers. And people probably won't be too eager to brick a thousand iPhones just to figure out how to put Windows on it. The cool factor isn't high enough if you ask me.

ARM9 to ARM11 is not just "more" resources but two different architectures one is ARM5 and another is ARM6, if you want to run an OS it HAS to be compiled for that particular architecture, you cant run WM6 for an intel processor on a Qualcomm processor, the only way is if someone developed a virtual machine. Also the boot loader comes in to the picture, to boot two "different" types of OSs you'd need the boot loader sources of the iPhone, you can boot different instances of the same firwmare that will not affect the boot loader, but to run a compeltely different platform you need to get the bootloader to recognise the existence of that platform on the system.

You can install windows on a Mac because Macs these days use the same hardware as PC's (x86 architecture). Also, Apple sells software to allow dual booting (Bootcamp, that's from apple, right?) on their machines.

I'd also like to point out that iPhone != macbook. Dual booting a macbook is totally different from an iPhone.

First off, I would like to thank TechRev for there feedback, which I'll mention last. And also if "poorlyduck" will PM me with his Email address and location(country) I will send you the Videos. I just got some new news from TechRev about the videos I sent to him late last night. He informed me that the extra circuit board I mentioned appears to have an omap/arm9 some how intergrated into the whole thing. Also in there opinion and ours the custom circuit board and the chip just mentioned appears to be the only things added to the device period, with the exception of some custom wiring. And to answer the quiestion of one of the posts on here. The device is no thicker or taller, or has any change in size from when it was opened out of the box as a shiny new iphone. Now for all the non-believers on here. Thats fine. If you doubt this so much why waist you time any longer writing back and forth. The reason no videos or pictures have been posted is due to the fact that when one is released and hits YouTube, like a few have requested, they will spread like wildfire. The detail and quality of the videos will make a believer out of anyone, but this is not my goal. When this device was brought to me, it was for the hope of figuring out how this thing runs, how it functions, and if at all possible making it available for anyone and everyone. If these vidos were all over the web, how long would it be before I got a call, or letter, or post from apple. They have almost accomplished having all icons, pics or even the whisper of iPhone removed from this sight as well as every other. If a developer on here or anywhere else figured this thing out , then videos and pictures will be posted from here to the moon. Then maybe anyone that wants an iPhone can have one for any carrier, while mixed with the king of ppc in my opinion, the Touch. But wether you believe or not, doesn't matter to me, but please leave this thread open for help only. Any input about how this may be programmed , or anything of that nature is welcome with open arms, but if you dont believe this post why even stay caught up on it. But anyway, heres what's been noticed so far. I will send the Videos to no more than two people on here, experienced people , at a time, in hopes to keep it off the web.
First, when the device is running htc software , there is a space around every edge of the screen approx. 1mm thick where the border of the htc homescreen , along with and program running on windows mobile doesn't fully fill the screen. Ive already mentioned the extra chip, which TechRev seems to think is an Arm/OMAP proc. but I cant confirm nor deny thats what it is. What I can confirm is there is a custom made circuit board , that is majorly tied into this thing. The custom wiring running to the screen , wiring to the light sensors, this thing is tied in everywhere. The two groups of people agree that this is where the process of combining these devices begins. Also it appears to have GPS hardware in there, that appears to not have come in the device stock. Everyday at this time I will post any updates, and send the Images and Videos to a new person for there help. If your planning on posting these somewhere else, please dont ask. If Im trusting you enough to help with something that could be this big if it can be copied, then you should at least do this. Hopefully within two weeks, with the help from the people here, as smart as they are, I'll be able to post the full version of how to recreate this thing... The first person to reply to me after they recieve the videos, with information they think can crack this thing, then you will be the one I send it to. But thats it for today. Not necessarily! Vista and OSX10.5 use the same processor architecture but Macs need a DOC to identify them which is why you can't run OSx on a PC! I suspect Apple would probably have implemented something like this in the iPhone if there was even a remote possibility the OS would be portable...

Now I don't know the specifics to an iPhone's processor, etc etc, but using the WM6 (for those who do) already you can see the lag it has when you have installed a certain amount of programs on it. This is real. I've seen some detailed pictures and flow charts of this on my college friend's laptop last Dec 2007. It's supposed to be just a thesis project of a bunch of guys at MIT. When I was first told about it, they never really used another hardware or attached anything on the iPhone (since that is the difficult part for them). All they did was play around with software. Back then, all I heard was they were able to make it boot to WM5 (Yeah... they were still using WM5 and no, it's not dual boot). But it does not respond to screen taps or anything, it just boots.

Then this last Feb 2008, I've heard that they were able to successfully make it respond to screen taps and even interface to the audio system to emit sound. Everything was still sluggish (like 5-10 frames per second) and it's still unable make phone calls or interface with the radio though, but it's definitely a progress.

So I called my friend to check on the status of their project. And guess what, not only were they able to make it work almost completely, they were even able to successfully have the option to dual boot! My friend said that they bricked a total of 17 iPhones on the project but produced 5 working prototypes (Yeah.. they're filthy rich geniuses). My friend said he's going to come over to show one to me but then my dog barked and I woke up.

I'm not going to sit here and talk trash about the guys on here saying they have one that dual boots. I'm not tech savy enough to say boo about it. If you guys say its not real odds are it isnt. But I have the HTC touch vogue and for the last 6 months I have had it all the tech guru's around have been debating whether or not the phone was wifi and gps capable. Untill this week it was still debated. Alltell in the states finally released a rom update that allowed the GPS to activate. So.. In order to shut someone down completly may be presumtious. Again... I dont know anything about the internal workings of the Iphone though. But just thought it was interesting that there has been a years worth of trash talk over people asking "does the CDMA touch have gps?" and all the "tech guys saying.. no way no how.. when.. here we are!

I agree though... if these guys want to prove that its real just post a picture. You arent breaking the law by showing people what you have. If you are seriously afraid that you'll get thrown in jail for showing us proof then what do you do.. keep the phone in your pocket and when it rings go run and hide so no one seems what you are using? Seems a little radiculous to me. I would assume your lawyer would tell you the same thing. So please... end the debate and just show us something

Ok gentleman. The guy that made the post about the dual OS iPh**e is not lying! I own a Computer Prog. Company in Kingsport TN that doe sub contract work for Sony Inc. The guys actually called and told my assistant to give me a message about it but I blew it off. They came to my office four times and I finally met with them. This things real. Three of my techs here checked it out and its no joke. Everything the kid said holds up. Weve had it three days now and still dont know alot. Not used to PPC's. We specialize in programming for Sony products, Laptops, Playstation etc. The kid told me about this sight and said some gelp may be available. Heres what weve got so far. On startup it brings up a dual bootloader screen. The htc versions is running amazing. Its running overclocked at 623mhz while the radio still runs at normal rate. This is strange because there is no type of over clocking software anywhere on the device. Also accelerometer is inactive on htc rom. Screen/light sensors work on both. iPhone side. Safari is somehow flash and java enabled. itunes is not here anymore. Its actually registered thru apple for warranty which im sure is void. works on gsm network as well as cdma like it says. now internal time. remember my techs are not ppc specialists. It appears ro have two processors tied into each other. one is original one appears to be custom. also there is some extra wiring tied into the screen running off an unknown circuit board which was def placed there aftermarket style. Also the everything seems to be somehow tied into this circuit board & and the board is a phenomenal custom job. Like I said, we do hot specialize in programming for ppc. I am willing and have rights to send this to an experienced and I mean GENIUS, programmer to work with this. Only condition is you must reside in the US OR CANADA, and you must sign a predrawn contract which you may print off, sign, and scan and email or fax back. It just says you will send it back, working or not. By the way, I contacted the creator of this & the reason it wasnt online or advertised is due to apples long arm. If there pulling hair over icons then theyd draw blood for this. Which brings me to this. NO PICS WILL BE PUBLICLY POSTED. I will email detailed video to any senior member only who honestly believes they can help make this widely available and rip off App** short leash. Im sorry to any non senior member but i dont wana email a video to an apple attorney. So post your thoughts but only serious requests for Photos.

I have a thermonuclear powered Iphone running Linux, which is in turn running a virtual machine environment which in turn is running WM2003 -- which I have made to look like XP. Not Vista because it is not pretty stable and I hate running those patches on a touch screen. Damn you VISTA!

I have made videos, taken pictures and even had a dog leak it, so you can see that the dog is real. I will send it to you but only if you print, read, agree, sign and return a contract which is in no way shape or form could stand in a court of law, so it is only used to make my sca--, er, this great piece of kit sound doable.

You won't regret it, it is like having two Crays working flawlessly in your hand!!

just my personal opinion here, but linux isn't automatically good because it's free or open source. Especially when people try running wm2003 in a virtual machine with an xp shell. next thing you know somebody will be running garnet in a virtual machine with a symbian emulator that acts as a virtual machine for wm2003 that has a virtual machine for xp that is skinned to look like vista.

In regards to the youtube video... Like I said.. wasnt sure WHAT it was.. but after going through a bunch of videos on youtube titled "iphone running windows" most of them are just running a remote desktop. My point was merely (by playing the devils advocate here) Who the hell knows what electronic wizards are capable of. Like I said with my phone (HTC Touch Vogue) it was debated for a year whether or not the phone even had a gps antenna. Tech people would open it up and scratch there head. Then this week.. BAM.. gps support. Who knows maybe in a month there will be a flood of iphones running windows.. Probably not, haha but still would be a pretty neat idea if it was possible.

Still incredibly suspicious that these guys havn't posted a single video or picture. And theres no news anywhere else online about it. If I somehow got windows running on an Iphone I would have it plastard everywhere on the internet myself. But that's just me. Maybe there are some people out there that want to keep something that could potentionally make them a ton of cash to themselves. I call those people idiots. Without of course labeling these guys on here idiots. From my understanding it wasnt even the guys who are posting who made it right? So why would they be legally liable for posting a picture. It's a picture!!! If these guys want to stop being reemed out from people ALL over the world then take my advice and just show some proof.

I just checked this thread for the first time since the original was posted and Im amazed! Who is this phillips_electronics, and where are these people coming up with this crap? I have no clue who TechRev or this guy is. As far as the phone, as im sure you wondering, its real. We just never got back on here to check on any replies because we know whats up now. Its actually a little thicker than a regular iPhone, but its still an iPhone. But the real wow factor is gone. The guy that made the phone has literally taken the inside of an HTC Touch and put it in the iPhone casing. Its just been put there in a way that it only makes the phone around or a little less than a quarter inch thicker. We just never noticed because we have no experience with an iPhone. The guy who made it must have had a plastic divider custom made because theres one there to give it room for the extra hardware. We pulled an old touch apart thats screen was busted, and its all pretty identical. As far as the bootloader screen, were not a hundred percent sure but think its some sort of startup program that loads on the htc hardware. Pretty sure all it does is kill power to one, and give power to the other. And were pretty sure iTunes was just removed thru this software manager program we seen on you tube. Even more weve not tried it on any other carrier than alltel so dont know about that claim. Sorry it took so long to post again but after we started figuring this out, I kinda realized it wasnt as big as we thought. Other than throwing the touch hardware in there and wiring the screen & power its not a huge miracle. But its still freakin awesome. Not crashed out but 2 or 3 times. The battery only lasts about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hrs. But I wish Id have found it. It may not be the dual OS iPhone but its still freakin awesom. If you were to check it out you wouldn't be able to notice the extra thickness unless u payed close,real close attention, or were an iPhone wiz.So there it is. If anyone stilll wants pics let me knw & ill do it whn I get time or any questions. I would have done it sooner but after the first few replies I realized I was waistin my time. And whats up with the comments about it being a sca? In my post I asked for no money, no anything actually? I think some idiots just like to talk. This isn't even a well thought out hoax.

Tips for hoaxing:
- Plan ahead:
Establish your characters in advance. If both characters are created in "April 08", it leads everyone to believe they were created by the same person.

- Names:
Use unique names. Obviously if you use an underscore in both your characters and make them similar in pattern. People will notice.

- Character Personality:
Actors don't use the same (well .. maybe Steven Segal) personality over and over. Take from Robin Williams book and mix it up. This includes using no grammar for one character and exceptional grammar for others. You must be a master of the English language to make a plausible hoax.

- Set the scene:
If your characters are the only ones interacting, it'll look fake. You need to draw in the public to make it look somewhat convincing. This includes bribing/payoffs/forgeries. If you make the statement that "only senior members will get this evidence" and then give it to a "junior member of 3posts" - mind you, the only one you gave it, and also one of the last to request it - it does not help with your credibility.

- Make it funny:
People don't like hoaxes unless they have a funny punchline. Like that one time we all went out to a bar with Hoffa and ... ha, what a hoot. Good times.

Overall, I'd rate this play about a 1 out of 10 on the hoax scale. It failed to pull the audience into the illusion, which inturn left them feeling restless. At times, it seemed as if it was really trying, but try as it might, it only opened up more plot holes than a cemetary. The poorly written script, horrible acting, and inexperienced directing really showed through. Overall, it's a must miss. Two thumbs down.
