Instructions for those running an official T-Mobile Shadow ROM that is CID-unlocked (http://www.elims.org/downloads/HTC-Tmobile/SDA_ApplicationUnlock/SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe) and connected to ActiveSync or WMDC with MicroSD slot empty...

1. Download http://rapidshare.com/files/105981665/Shadow_SSPL-JumpSPL.zip.html, unzip, follow readme.txt
2. Download http://rapidshare.com/files/105981821/RUU.zip.html, unzip, run ROMupdateUtility.exe

(those steps were just to protect the SPL (ie. BIOS) of your phone. the next step flashes the new ROM)

3. Download http://rapidshare.com/files/110930745/PHOEIMG.rar.html, UnRar, and move NBH file into RUU folder extracted in step #2. Remove "Shadow-USPL.nbh" file from that folder. Run ROMupdateUtility.exe

Hi all,

I always find flashing with a card is a lot faster than using a software because I can do this anytime with just one little card. I didn't find this in wiki so might as well just make one. tested by myself.

***IMPORTANT***
Please make sure you have JumpSPL on your device. And also make sure you have more than 50% of battery left or you can plug in a charger just to make sure there is no power failure. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

1. Get a 128MB MicroSD card (or whatever size you like) and format it Fat32 (1024bytes Allocation Unit Size)(***please make sure you format it, but not just delete all contents on it)

2. find the ROM image you would like to use, normally namede RUU_Sign.nbh, and rename it to "PHOEIMG.nbh"

3. Plug the card into the phone, then enter boot loader mode by pressing down the Shortcut and Camera buttons simultaneously, and press the power button. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds until the bootloader screen appears.

4. You will a white screen asking if you want to read from SD card, press the power button to start the update. It should take about a min to finish, compared to the 3-4mins it takes with the software update.


5. After all these are done, press any key to take you the tricolor bootloader, then press power button to turn of the phone, and again to turn it on.

I prefer the panels interface better than Neo.
One thing I noticed, on my comm manager, there are no icons.
I don't want to hijack the topic but do you guys have a solution for my wi-fi? I have the "driver not loaded" problem and I already hard-reseted it, installed the official rom 2 times before and nothing.

Thanks. Comm Manager icons issue added to bug list. As for wi-fi, I have a shadow running the new ROM and I'm having no problems connecting with WiFi; I cannot reproduce your problem. Perhaps others can confirm?

I searched about the wifi problem and some people called t-mo about it and ended up with a new phone. I can't do that so I was wondering if there is a "force load" for the driver.

About the ROM, how about adding ms voice command?

i was just snooping through the registry and realized that there was a key for the driver of the WiFi... i dont know if this may help but you could try and compare this of a working WiFi to you non-working WiFi...

now i think the ??'s are different language characters. i dont think they are actually question marks. however im not sure. you can try and change yours to the default. . ill see what happends when i dump that reg key. hold on.


this is from an export of the wlan key. now keep in mind that my screen shot shows 2 N looking characters. but the export does not. I export 2 times and both times i got this. sooooo. heres the reg export for the wlan driver from the t-mobile update rom.

I installed some apps (totalcommander, 1-calc lite, moBlue, smarttoolkit) and I've set the alarm. When I reseted the phone (option from smarttoolkit) it went crazy! The alarm started, I could not dismiss it, and when I tried to lower the volume using the side keys it just added an alarm on top of the alarm.
I had to remove the battery and hardreset it.

Yeah dude, they've been selling SIM unlock codes for the Shadow since the beginning of the year. I'm using the unlocked Shadow on the Rogers Canada network.

Good idea; I tried that and it works. Downgraded the bug to "low" priority

also spyler my problem is reversed. when my phone is connected to a pc it will not use edge to surf on the phone i have to discconnect the phone.

this is not a 6.1 bug in my case as it happend on t-mobiles rom as well.


also last night i set my alarms for 5 am and 530 am.. when i woke up at 6:15 !!!!!! my phone was off .... so i turned it on and got both alarms going off. this is the first time out of the past 5 days of me using the alarms that they messed up like an earlier support post on this.

Setting up the handset

internet3.voicestream.com is for flexpay contracts with total internet plan.

what internetplan do you have ?
what are you connecting to G or E also have you tried connecting to wifi ?

check your settings in connections and make sure they are right.

if everything is on the up and up then somone else with yahoo needs to test this report.

Hey guys you know whats wierd that every reply i read its the common mang. problem. Iam running beta 3 and that is not my issue, the clock is and myFaves account and i even downloaded the fix but it didnt work for me. I re-installed and the clock shows for about 10 seconds then i get myFaves messages that there updated and then its gone again...any solutions?

Just after i posted my problem i did some research;


Disable MyFaves icon for those who have it activated

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
inside got CMyFaves- find value Disable Change from 0 to 1

Next:
in same place HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
go to CHome inside is value Disable page change value from 1 to 0

Last:
in same place HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
got CClock change value disable from 1 to 0
and value disable page from 1 to 0

soft reset


This solved my problem for the clock and myFaves issue. Hope this helps anyone that has the same problem.:):)

I can confirm seeing this problem on the T-Mo 6.0 rom. I think I saw it on the 6.1 beta 3 rom, too. I can't confirm it right now as I'm away from my desk.

I have been using my for two days and it works great, even added background and messed with the settings and seemed pretty stable for me... I did this and my google maps works great but internet still isnt working and also i cant recieve emails.

has anyone gotten the portrait camera fix to work? after i install it and reboot my phone, the camera doesnt load. the spinning circle shows up but just sits there (doesnt spin).

on an unrelated note, has anyone had success installing ClockOnTop with 12 hour format? it shows up as 24 hour for me regardless of what i try.

TECHNICALLY beta 3 is beta 4... its just the 1st version nd4spd made wasnt usable and wasnt added to the list.

atm nd4spd has not released a new version. I will be very upset also because ive spent over 10 hours customising my registry. and have not made a cab to install my edits.....

also bug report. i noticed while trying to edit freddys photodialer to make 5 contacts for my faves instead of 12.

any cab that writes to the reg can not be changed. after a reboot the registry will remain the same. I got around this by exporting freddys reg edits and uninstalled his cabs and only imported the registry. from a .cereg file this allowed me to change the reg options that i needed.

also some chome reg keys can not be changed (saved) same work around. i exported the keys. deleted the keys from the registry and then imported my cereg file.

also one thing that is pissing me off. is...

CHOME ICONPATHS will not save.... i tried to change them to 2051 i tihnk it was because im using 2201 as the applications slide icon. so i want to use the white icon in the dll that is an envolope. since it is used in CMESSAGE wich is the same thing as CHOME the (voicemail, txt, email on the homepage)

i think it has to do with the guid because if i switch any slide to the same guid as CHOME that slide will turn into the chome slide with the voicemail txt and so forth notifications.

ill get some screens up on what i want to do. xda has a too small png attachment size so i gotta put them somewere else.

also to go far and beyond. what i did with the fullscreen neo theme release. i am making psd's for easy editing of all/most screens.. home screen, comm manager, htc action, dial, water mark (alert, error, volume etc). This will allow anyone with photoshop paintshoppro or even gimp to change edit and make their own 6.1 slide themes

what are you connecting to G or E also have you tried connecting to wifi ?

check your settings in connections and make sure they are right.

if everything is on the up and up then somone else with yahoo needs to test this report.

That would suggest that it works through GPRS. But I'm pretty sure there's a protocol for doing it straight over GSM without using a data plan; I've always had data shut off and my phone has been able to auto-update time/timezone in the past. Just not with this ROM.

So I'll qualify the bug as "no auto-update over GSM"

Kron is working on the MyFaves flash interface to include the green 6.1 background and the different colored backgrounds of the themes im making.

Since its based off of freddys photodialer but clicking the right softkey will open the flash interface. I might swap it. so if you click the contact it open the flash interface and the rightsoftkey to call the contact.

Yes I would like to try it, so far the rom i am running is great... And I am have trouble finding a site to download cecab manager. I went to a site and downloaded it but it wont load. Says I have to restart to finish installation of program...but no matter what i do it says the same thing. Is it because I am running Vista?:confused:

This is what I did:

For each Menu icon you need to copy the same value 2 times if you want the value to stay and show up.

Message Icon example:

In this way it would be easier to migrate your old Neo themes or customize it. You don't need to use bronze.dll

1. Turn off your phone and take the battery out.
2. With battery still out try to turn the phone on. (if it turns on repeat step 1.)
3. put battery in the phone.
4. HOLD THE CAMEA button down and turn on the phone. (never let go of the camera button.)
5 the phone should boot to a 3 color screen. (if it boots into the rom start over.)
6. while your phone is at the 3 color screen (bootloader) connect your usb cable. and then run t-mobile rom update.
7. Your done.

add string " KeyLockConfirmPrompt" data value = Press The"Home"key to unlock the phone.

After your reboot you will not see your registry editor you installed , but reinstall and you'll see it.
Install you apps and you should see them in the Remove Programs

after apply the registry edit, all newly installed programs will appeared on Remove Programs.
For those who already installed programs, and try the following registry edit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\AppInstall
Select on each key that contains the program's name, and looking for DWORD Value: ROLE
Change the decimal value for ROLE to 24. but adobe flashlite is 254 You have to apply this to each program or reinstall.

I'm on my 5th shadow replacement and the second one had that problem after I synced with my notebook so I was scared to do sync with the 3rd and 4th replacement phones. With my current one I said hell I still have 9 months left on my warranty so I synced again with my laptop and so far my wifi still works though it's a little iffy sometimes. I hope I don't get the unable to load driver error so I'm hoping someone comes up with a solution.
