Some items on my screen I would prefer to have non-responsive to the touch-screen. I keep unwittingly setting alarms or changing the time with my phone in my pocket. I could lock the phone but at busy times I either forget or deliberately don't lock it. Also, in bright daylight (I work outside mostly) I cannot see the screen to unlock it as the backlight is too dim.
Is it possible to make items not respond to touch?

Sounds to me you are looking for a smartphone device. I recommend installing a good unlock application. S2U2 is the best lock app I have ever used. You can find it in the development and hacking section. As far as not bring able go see the screen outdoors, the only WM device that I have found usable in direct sunlight is the Treo 750.

Hi.
I only have trouble seeing the unlock button in sunlight. Once the device is unlocked and the backlight comes on, I have no problem.
