whatever happened to pocket g2 pro?

hi folks I currently use g2 pro for my download needs but, while it works it is prone to crashes.
I have been looking into this and as far as I can find the developer stopped work and 'vanished' in 2006.

this is freeware so. ..
has anyone any improved version or anyone any thoughts about how to continue development

ya this was my favorite app I'd love to hear from the developer to find out why he abandoned it, I've a strange feeling that he died as no one has been able to reach him, I think his name was Alex Pi...
