hi guys.. I really don't understand. I downloaded and installed the SPB MS 2.1 and then I used customized themes by the members of this forum.

I copied all the files (in cab or zip) to \Device\Program Files\SPB Mobile Shell.
Then after that, my Samsung i780 (WIN Mobile Pro 6.1) cannot use SPB Mobile Shell anymore :(

It happens with all the themes

Most of the themes in this thread are 240 X 320 qvga. If you do some searching you should find some 320 x 320 skins, there are some problems with this resolution something to do with real vga or not, I'm not sure just something I read.

Oh.. I got a SE Xperia, these Themes wont work then because the resolution doesnt fit,right?! I thought this Themes would be for Xperia, because of the spbShell and stuff..

1st one :
all 9 icons appear and work, but on the 3 new icons (m6,m7 m8), icones are not at the good place (like 5 or ten px more in Y) and i've got the same problem for their titles... so i can't see the titles ...
if i put m6,7,8 on the top i get the same problem and their titles are on the icons m0,1,2 ...:mad: And idea on this point ?

2nd problem :
i've put a nice backqround on the spb mobile shell home, but i can't see it on the launcher, wich ligns need i to change or add to get my backround here ?

Maybe you are running out of space. You need to follow the directions and install the themes on a storage card and run the install scripts from your storage card.

Most of the themes in this thread are 240X320 or qvga, I think your device is not a qvga device.

1) Go to HKLM\Software\SPB SoftwareHouse 2\SPB Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\

2) Create Key as in RunningApps

3) Create the appropriate Values:

I'm completely new to PDAs in general and especially new to reconfiguring them. I've been soaking up tons of knowledge from here though, and have set up a theme the way I like it all except for one thing. I figured out how to edit the registry and add the 9 menu icons. However I cannot get my task manager to launch directly from that icon. I have everything in the registry just like it's shown above. It just created an empty folder though. I want it to function just like if I were to go into Tools and select the Task Manager in there. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this? Thanks in advance.

I know this has probably been beat in the ground, but I am having a hard time finding it. I am trying to change the background image for Landscape(Greatbal's Diamond with Black fusion Icons). I changed the ql_bkg_now.dat, seperator2.bmp and when I go to check it everything freezes. I changed the Portrait and everything works for it. But when I try the LS it just freezes everything.

There's a free trial on the SPB website (at least there used to be). Fully functional, no nag screens or anything. The only way you know it isn't the full version is after 30 days (or however long it is, I can't remember) it tells you to redister it.

On another note...
Does anyone know when the new version is going to be released? The last I heard was OEM's get it in February, consumers get it in March. Well it's March, so has anyone heard anything?

I haven't heard anything about the release date yet. On the subject of mobile shell here is a new background for my storm theme. Credit for the background goes to Bob_55, from his s2u2 theme blackberry.

Thanks for this thread there's a lot of informations to play with spb...but..yes there's a but... i've another problem and this one is make me crasy !!! :eek:

On each page, i've add a top bar with battery, clock and statu. The problem is that i get a blue text on the clock and i can't change it !!!
(clock applied with : Class="Spb.LSP.ModernDClock" Name="ModernDClock)

Can anyone make a skin that looks like mac OSX? I think the icons at the bottom to look like the mac dock would be awesome. Ive seen it done with other themes and interfaces but I love SPB too much to use something else.

Hi there, members of the skinning olymp.
I just started using SPB mobile shell and i am very very amazed by your efforts here. Your skins look amazing and give a LOT of extra value for this cool product.
One thing i didnt find was a simplistic skin. White on black (i mean black, no background image) without (!) all this glossy effect. i went through this thread on maybe 40 pages and after 3,5 hours I couldnt find one.
Is such a skin already made?

thx very much to greatbal! I like this theme so much, it is simple and very nice :-)! I tried many themes (last was WinMo 6.5) and many are realy good but they have to much options.. I like this simple theme GSmart from greatbal.

I also tried to change the background and take some other picture from this thread (I think called Real Diamond). This background i put in the black version from GSmart. I'm not sure if it is allowed or not to change something and to share later? If it is i would share the Real Diamond background too.

I tried to change the background in the default SPB MS skin by replacing Separator.bmp and Separator2_m.bmp in qp_bkg_now.dat. The problem is that I can see the new background only in now screen, all other screens have no background. I'm sure there is some other file that need to be modified but I cannot figure out which one. Can anyone help me with this?

- SpbMenu.xml for icone launcher (the page, not the fast bottom launcher)
- SpeedDial.xml for contacts
- Weather.xml for weather
- time.xml for time and alarm details

plugin need to be declared in default layout :

Hello, i'm rather new to this but i just got a Touch 3G device and being an old Diamond user i didn't like the TouchFlo interface against the TouchFlo 3D interface. So my question is, is there a way to install 3D (or any skin that looks like it!) in my 3G? :D

I have a question, I have looked into any forum I could Find But I did not Find an answer.

I have created a custom Kyro skin. When I go in the Spb Skins 3.2 menu and then in the Kyro menu... all the skins have icons similar to their backgrounds (part of the actual background actually) but all the custom made skins have a "G" sa an icon.. This icon. (for all skins) is taken by an .exe file that exists in every skins folder..

So the $1.000.000 question is.....
How do I change that I icon? :(

I absolutely love this theme that whomever built. Can the programmer who built this please do me 4 big favors regarding this, or if anybody is interested in taking it over, I need 3 crucial changes to make this perfect for me:

1) Make a fifth button on the bottom bar the MRU button
2) Make this Samurai Diamond weather setup compatible with this theme

Look into the qa_layouts.dat and see under lockscreen if there is something loading called tab background or something like that. Also make sure the wallpaper you are using isn't the problem. The bar could be part of the wallpaper - separator2.bmp in qp_bkg_now.dat

Thank you for your help but I don´t find the reason.

So for those who are interested, I use a trick:
I cut the missing 240x40 part out of separator2 background and put it in the qp_bkg_now.dat as the Tabs.bmp.
So it look perfectly as the same as transparent!

Very IMPORTANT: SOFT RESET is NO MORE NECESSARY to change Spb MS skin :)

Simply stop the Spb process using the MortScript Command:

run ("\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe","-stop")

I've use this script to launch an application but I'd like to change the icon of my file.
Anyone can help me how to change an icon for a specific file ?

Ok, real noob here. It states above "Transfer files from the \Files folder to SPB installation directory, and transfer files from the \Fonts folder to your device's \Windows\Fonts directory"

I can browse to my device, find the WINDOWS folder or the PROGRAMS folder, etc. But I can not find anything that remotely resembles SPB. Please help.

I'm looking for a shell for 2.1 that has 3 screens: Now, Menu, & MRU. I do not want a dedicated screen for Contacts, Weather, or Calendar. Can anyone provide a link? Thanks

Hey, searched this Thread for hours....

Found that its possible to change the lower tabs in SPB Now-Screen!

For me now it is -> Now - Calendar - Programs - Weather - Contacts

Would like to assign different application on the Weather Tab (want to have Weatherpanel).

So, ist it possible to change the tabs in that way, that they open other Programs than the default ones?? If Yes, PLEASE explain HOW...

I just installed the blue theme on my omnio and all the screens are black apart from the contacts screen and that looks like a mess.

How do i get this to work
