I've "updated" my 2.0 to 2.1 and there are no problem with skins... (using blue ray one)

Nice to see a new thread. So lets freshen up about the newest data connection icon.

Whats been updated in MS2.1
- Professional now screen shows the data connection icon when data is in progress or connected to ActiveSync/WMDC
- qa_operator_small.dat has been updated which includes the *.bmp for data icons
- LockScreen.xml which includes the updated source code for qa_operator_small.dat as shown below

- you can now get 9 menu buttons and as well as the data connection icon when data is in progress.
- only thing replaced in this fixed qa_layout.dat is the launcher.xml which is the previously modded for 9 menu buttons
- may not work with some modded skins as they do not include the Professional now screen layout

2. Redesign battery and signal icons. No need to have them big in home layout, small like in other layouts is just fine.

I disagree with #1 and #2. The tab buttons and the big battery and signal icons are aesthetically pleasing, as particularly evident in the themes from kulet78 and RoboDad. If I wanted lots of small icons and a cluttered look, I'd stick with the default WM today page.

And personally, I've grown to like the MRU page in kulet's layout. Swipe one way and I have my frequently used programs. Swipe the other way, and I have the full menu page. But because it basically comes down to one gesture versus two gestures to get to any program I have, I don't feel strongly about MRU one way or the other. That being said, there's already a calendar page (nice move to enhance the look of the home page), and I haven't seen anyone successfully incorporate pocket informant (or PocketBreeze...).

Outstanding! The design is getting more and more innovative. Just as I'm getting used to one theme, a new, improved one comes along. Now I just have to make more friends to fill up three pages of contacts.

Which tab is listed as Tab1? I use the Spb watcher to automatically return me to the Now screen whenever my Today screen comes up, but on these themes with the calender Now screen listed as 1 and the time Now screen listed as 3, I'm brought to the wrong now screen (calender instead of time).

Kulet78!!!!! Your work just gets better and better!!! I've been waiting for a good theme based on 2.1 before downloading, and I know have a worthy replacement of your latest Blue Ray.

Question: The small dots that represent the subform, is that part of the background graphic? Before Blue Ray I was using the Russian theme with text buttons - and I found that the contact pages with names (VIP, Friends, Work) was very handy. Can those dots be text?

Oh yeah... And a 10th icon for something besides games??

This is nearly what I am dying to get. It will be perfect if the forth page integration of pocket informant. And the Now page is integrated with PocketAlarm.

im pretty happy with standard skin but does someone have one that would get rid of the X button and/or add another page of something useful instead? I see a lot of these skins have a 4th page... so a 4th page plus get rid of X on others...

this is my Now screen plus other screens. i would like to have the new features included(the voicemail icon and the top bar). also, can we integrate SPB Diary into the now screen??

Hey kulet,

Lovely new theme, seeing as its built on a whole new concept it already feels like its going to take a little getting used to.

When i lock my device it goes to the middle tab, showing the last page of that tab i was on. Is there anyway to ensure this goes to the "time" screen, so i can see if i've received any messages still whilst my device is locked?

Also, i think it's surprisingly easy to get lost despite the small number of pages. I therefore think it might be worthwhile implementing a more descriptive navigation system, especially as the design may expand to more pages in the future as people come up with new ideas and breakthroughs. I was thinking it might be best if you had a page indicator (2 or 3 dots) above each tab (or integrated into?) so that you can always see which page will come up when you click the tab?

Also, a personal preference of mine but i'll throw it out there. The calender page... surely there's no need for all the icon repeat icons from the time page?

Now, jumping the gun a bit but I'd like to mix things up (despite being confident its very much not possible at the moment). What if you could add a 'slide up' gesture to quit MS2, and change the 'slide down' gesture bring up your taskbar (3 icons, programs + clock + contacts) as your finger reaches the bottom of the screen. Then you can select which category to go into. Once in a category you could then have the relevant tabs with the usual appearance.
Sorry for leaping ahead but your new features have got me thinking.

You're definitely leading the revolution at the moment! Any more themes coming from your way soon? I was a big fan of the bold shapes and colours in your original themes ;)

This is a really nice theme! My only gripe is that I use SpbWatcher & that always seems to jump to the first page - so I get the launcher page by default, when I want the "now" page. I don't know how that could be changed, so could you do a version of the theme with the "Now" & launcher order switched? (or explain to me how to do it myself)

Try sweeping your finger sideways on the screen, if you have a touchscreen that is.

Customize Menu not working is not due to my theme. Please check your registry and make sure you have everything correct. What I did after installing 2.1 to restore 9 menu icons was to just create a new key called "Games" then copy all the contents of My Menu key to it. Then I just changed the Image (dword) value to 8 and Text (string) value to Games (or whatever title you want).

Yes it is, and when you do it is a HUGE improvement IMO. Here is a new layout I'm almost finished with. I'm just tweaking a couple small issues.

Note the notifications, profiles, etc stay pinned on every screen. I also kept the battery and signal too. This required resizing many of the elements but it was worth it. :) (Credit goes to aaron1124 at spbclub.com for the original bottom tab replacement)

Perhaps you could work this into your awesome layout? Your idea with the indicator dots is brilliant! Maybe you could work the current tab indicator into them somehow, and lose the bottom bar entirely. Just a thought...

I can do you one better. I've created a folder for 2.1 Icons and packs and given everyone complete access to upload to this folder, create sub folders, rename, delete, you name it. The only thing I ask in return is don't go ape$hit and max out my space and please don't post WAREZ. But other than that, have at it guys. Here is a direct link to that folder.

Just found this
gr8 work you all!

I now have 9 buttons and no need for all possible submenus. Therefore I started looking to use one of the menu buttons to activate the taskmanager from the main menu tab.

in the registry HKLM>Software>Spb Software House 2>Spb Mobile Shell>Menu>Root I added the ninth menu with folowing values:
Add = 0
Image = 8
Index = 9
Text = Active Tasks
Type = TaskManager

And the most amazing is that I got it 2 work!

Looking at existing 'Type' regvalues show that the menu buttons can be used for a lot more!
I wonder if it was possible to have task manager as a tab? It could replace unnecessary calendar tab :)

I have only seen complaints from people using the "calm" theme, and since its a cab, no telling what it actually changes. Sounds like a problem caused by the cab possibly trying to add menu items to the registry.

I recommend trying a non cab version and make your own regedits, and let us know if that fixes your problems?

I actually did not download the cab (didn't even know it existed). I unzipped the the file and simple copied the the dat files. I looked through the registry and didn't see anything. I guess it could be something in the xml?

Ouch, I hope you have a good restore point saved just incase. I guess it could be an xml, maybe he has a broken display item, or a improperly packed file. I had to do a few restores myself untill I learned how to properly pack the xml files.

Please keep us apprised of your findings.

I can't test it right now, but I'm fairly sure it uses the 1st MRU icon, as long as the option for 'Show Backlight in Home Tab' is enabled.

Try it out. Let me know if it doesn't work, and I can take a look at it later.

I have this as an intermittent fault as well and it was onoy after my first loading of kulet78's theme, that said at the moment it is working for me.

Interestingly it is working from my MRU tab but not the settings one, life just gets stranger.

I can't test it right now, but I'm fairly sure it uses the 1st MRU icon, as long as the option for 'Show Backlight in Home Tab' is enabled.

Try it out. Let me know if it doesn't work, and I can take a look at it later.

Yeah, I have that enabled but was looking for the actual code, the mru/launcher doesnt appear to have anything designating the backlight.

Maybe its activated by the name of the xml file thats displayed? I'm going to download a few more themes and look at their code, but if I need to rename some files I'll try that another day.

That's what I thought, but when I tried to move my clock down (changed y to 155 - that's down a bit, right?) it messed up bad and got rid of the Now screen altogether.

I've screwed up the now screen through experimenting, maybe your moving it down too far, or not packing the fles right?

Or maybe the clock isn't compatable with the mode? I've had 0 success trying to use the professional clock on the classic layout.

Enlight of the new 2.1 version, I have created a theme that will include the voicemail icon. If you may have noticed in my previous themes, I don't use the "small" data connection icons so this theme would not have it also. In my future themes I may include it but we'll see. For now, here's my first 2.1 version theme I call "Calm".

Note: I have grouped tabs into 3 different MAIN (bottom icons) sections:

Programs Section
> Launcher
> MRU

Clock Section
> Now
> Calender

Contacts Section
> 3 pages of contact pages

Gesture is limited to pages within each MAIN section since I grouped everything using xml code (used subforms within subforms). To go to a MAIN section, simply tap the related bottom icon. Each page within MAIN section will have an indicator at the bottom showing which page is currently displayed. Lastly, which ever page you're in before going to a different MAIN section, going back to previous MAIN section will show last page selected. For example, you're in Programs > MRU, then you tapped on Clock, when you tap on Programs again, it will display MRU screen not Launcher screen which is the first page.

I apologize for the lenghty intro, I figured this will answer a few questions before they're asked.

As always, this includes today tsk and S2U2 wallpapers (non-animated). It's also support landscape mode.

Yes, it consumes too much ram memory ~12-14 MB on my P526.

It seems to be related to the number of different screens in the themes. The themes taking up the most I found are the ones with the multiple contacts screens.

Your unit needs to cache each screen into memory.

I have 25mb left on the Mobile3Cube theme. That only has three screens.

Customize Menu not working is not due to my theme. Please check your registry and make sure you have everything correct. What I did after installing 2.1 to restore 9 menu icons was to just create a new key called "Games" then copy all the contents of My Menu key to it. Then I just changed the Image (dword) value to 8 and Text (string) value to Games (or whatever title you want).

Hope this helps.

I myself had the same problem. It seems that if you made a back up of your 9 menu registry prior to upgrading to 2.1 and restored it after installing 2.1, the customize link is not working. So I just re-installed 2.1 again to restore default registry settings and manually added the 9th menu.

And for others with memory problems, my themes use a lot of graphics and multiple pages so naturally this will suck up a lot of memory.

I'm in the middle of creating a lighter version with only Launcher, Homescreen and 1 Contact page. No more MRU, no more Calendar. Calendar is integrated in the Time page.

I try to create 1 theme that would suit most people's need and variations for others with odd need but I can't accomedate all since this is only a hobby of mine.

Hope this clarifies some things. Have a good one.

I know kulet couldn't accomodate all requests so i tried to learn how to modify custom themes to suit my needs. Mostly, I just change icons, slightly modify layouts, rearrange tabs, and add items that is not included in the original custom theme like the connection icon, just to suit my needs.

As you can see in the screenshots, I have incorporated the connection information into all but the basic Now tab. I tried to suppress the carrier name from the display, but I was unable to find a way to hide it. If anyone else has succeeded in this, let me know and I'll try to add it to my theme. I have also included a new Voicemail icon, as well as newly-upgraded Stardock weather icons (including larger 96x96 icons for the weather page, and a full set of 16x16 icons for the detail displays).

Other changes are the inclusion of the current time on the calendar tab, an additional menu icon choice based on the Pocket Informant logo for those who don't want a Games icon (settable via the registry), and a plethora of layout options for using the theme. I received so many requests for different variations of tab layouts and placement of the calendar info, that I decided to split the theme into two parts. The first part (RoboDad's PointUI 2.1 Base.zip) contains all of the graphic embellishments, but none of the layout information. To use the theme, you will need to copy the base file, plus one of the layout files, to your SPB folder on your device. You have ten, count 'em, TEN layouts to choose from. Here is the breakdown:

I can do you one better. I've created a folder for 2.1 Icons and packs and given everyone complete access to upload to this folder, create sub folders, rename, delete, you name it. I understand your frustration, but moving the icons would defeat one of my objectives in designing the theme the way I did. What I would suggest is that you find one of the tools that lets you change the network (carrier) name to something shorter. I don;'t have any links for you, but I know I have read about that capability elsewhere on this forum. Maybe someone else could help out?

Yeah, I'm torn myself between #9 and #6 right now. #9 uses slightly less memory, but #6 shows more calendar info. But I agree, those are (IMO) the best combinations.

I wish I could, but with what we currently have to work with it isn't possible. I hope that Spb adds that ability in a future release, or else publishes an API that I and others could use to develop our own plug-ins, but right now I've done all I can.

When I find some more time, I'm going to tackle that. I'm reluctant to go with the multiple background image model due to its high memory consumption, and I also don't know if I want to have to gesture through every contact tab at the same level as the others, but I'll figure something out soon.

I know that probably looks a bit confusing, but it is really pretty simple. You just need to decide whether you want the basic calendar tab, the extended calendar tab, or the calendar on the Time page, and then choose between having an MRU tab and/or a close button, or neither.

I don't seem to be able to attach any files right now, but as soon as I can, I will post everything.

The first part (RoboDad's PointUI 2.1 Base.zip) contains all of the graphic embellishments, but none of the layout information. To use the theme, you will need to copy the base file, plus one of the layout files, to your SPB folder on your device. You have ten, count 'em, TEN layouts to choose from. Here is the breakdown:

1. Layout-tabcal contains the basic calendar on a separate tab, but no MRU tab, and no close button.
2. Layout-tabcal+close contains the basic calendar on a separate tab, and a close button, but no MRU tab.
3. Layout-tabcal+mru contains the basic calendar on a separate tab, and an MRU tab, but no close button.
4. Layout-ext_tabcal contains the extended calendar on a separate tab, but no MRU tab, and no close button.

When I find some more time, I'm going to tackle that. I'm reluctant to go with the multiple background image model due to its high memory consumption, and I also don't know if I want to have to gesture through every contact tab at the same level as the others, but I'll figure something out soon.

Thanks for the tips - very helpful! I've got clock moved and other layouts pretty much like I want them now. I'll post pics after a couple tweaks since they're 240x240 and there aren't many in that size.

One weird thing I'm having trouble figuring out. I've moved the bottom bar off the bottom of the screen since it's redundant to gestures and hardware buttons. But the bottom 25 pixels or so (the size of the bottom bar) don't move with gestures which makes the animation messed up just on the bottom.

Any idea what .dat files the size of the gesture area are in? I'm guessing somewhere there's an animation file that is set at 240x215 and all I'll have to do is set it to 240x240.

I've screwed up the now screen through experimenting, maybe your moving it down too far, or not packing the fles right?

Or maybe the clock isn't compatable with the mode? I've had 0 success trying to use the professional clock on the classic layout.

It's all in the registry. Under the key for the ninth menu (mine is called "Games"), change the value for the Image key from 8 to 9:

I'm not sure I understand your question. The example I posted was taken directly from my phone's registry. The key that you need to change is Image, not MRUImage. As far as adding a ninth menu, the instructions for that have been posted several times in the other Spb skin and icon threads.

I face the same problem.

You can copy one of the layout page from Bluewall. Problem slove temporary.

Let me repeat, I am not going to change the theme to address this problem. The icons are where I want them to be. If you are facing this problem, then what you need to do is find a way to modify the carrier name to something less wordy. Otherwise, you are probably going to have the same problem on all of the other pages, with the carrier name spilling over the clock at the top of each page.

I understand your frustration, but moving the icons would defeat one of my objectives in designing the theme the way I did. What I would suggest is that you find one of the tools that lets you change the network (carrier) name to something shorter. I don;'t have any links for you, but I know I have read about that capability elsewhere on this forum. Maybe someone else could help out?

Codyppc over at PPCGeeks created an app to change the operators name. Works well for me. Sometimes it goes back to sprint, but immediately returns to what I have it set to.

Do you have any pending (unheard) voicemail? The way SPB added the new icon is less than perfect, IMO, but it only displays it when you actually have voicemail that needs to be listened to. If you don't have any, it defaults back to the old display behavior. I spent a while trying to trick it into displaying the icon all the time, since my theme has room for it, but I couldn't find a way to make it work.

If anyone has any ideas on how to change that behavior, I'd be happy to try them out.

only prob i see - is call provider name( top bar)-( mine is vodaphone) encroaches on to the clock - ie clock and phone provider crushed togeather and overlapping

I'm a new user to Mobile Shell starting with 2.1 (just installed last Friday) - but I'm having a lot of problems with the custom themes.

When I copy the files over (that's all I do right - dump all the files right on top of the ones I have in the install folder?) and soft-reset - when I run the shell my ppc just locks up.

Fortunately, I made a copy of the folder first, so I can easily restore, soft-reboot & be ok again.

I am using a HTC Advantage (vga, 480x640 screen, usually in landscape mode).

Mostly, I'm looking for links to help so I don't totally disrupt a theme thread. Also a link to a primer or adjusting the file to my own nefarious (sp?) purposes.

Here's my first shot at a makeover. I've experimented and played with different setups but this one seems to work the best for me at least. Big thanks to whoever posted the link to the emulator - much easier to tweak and play!

Caveats: This was made for and tested on a Treo 750. I haven't used it on a W or WX or any other square screen device. The emulator is a generic square screen and doesn't show any issues, but obviously you use it at your own risk. Also, I haven't figured out how to get the bottom 25 pixles (where the bottom bar used to be) to gesture correctly. I use the Sweep animation and it looks good with that, but it's very noticeable in some of the other animations. It bugs some people, doesn't bother others. No new background files involved. I think it looks best with the Indigo theme, but all of the MS2 colored themes work just fine. I'll re-post the files if I figure out how to make the whole thing move correctly.

Modifications from original MS2 setup:

Now Screen: Bottom bar eliminated, clock moved down to be more centered vertically, weather moved down as well.

Launch Screen: MRU eliminated, replaced with plugins (thanks to bcchristian for this setup!), replaced icons with Wood icons (thanks to kulet78!), eliminated the bottom bar, eliminated the grid, lowered and re-spaced icons to fit screen better.

Speed Dial Screen: eliminated bottom bar, re-spaced pictures and grid to be evenly distributed on the screen

Used with S2U2 (and the Indigo background image from the Now Screen) and spbwatcher the entire experience is integrated and smooth with Mobile Shell. Very clean, very functional!

Yeah, I'm torn myself between #9 and #6 right now. #9 uses slightly less memory, but #6 shows more calendar info. But I agree, those are (IMO) the best combinations.

Question for Robodad/anybody... Most of these themes have 3 weather files, but it looks like the new PointUI theme has a fourth one, labeled qa_weather_big_lock, any idea why?

I prefer to use the original weather icons, so no matter what theme I use, I always take out the weather files. But when I do that on the new PointUI theme, I lose the big weather icons.

Thanks for the super quick reply. I can understand where you are coming from and to be honest I didnt click with me that that was the reason you hadn't done this layout.

Personally, I have no practical use for the additional city clocks, and therefore, for me, it would be an acceptable loss. I do not travel abroad often and do not have to communicate with colleagues/friends/family overseas on a regular basis.

I like the idea of the extended calendar, but prefer not to use your layout with the ext cal on a seperate page for two reasons.

It's one extra page to flick through, and get lost in!
I like having my appointments 'hidden' behind the main pages on the time screen.

Hmmm...

I just put together a test version of this layout, and I think I've uncovered a bug in MS2.1. If I set the calendar to "Auto", it works fine. I get three appointments, and five weeks of calendar. But, if I set it to "Three Weeks", I can't even display the page. I did some rough math, and I believe that the program must be trying to display five appointments, but it apparently doesn't have enough slots allocated in memory to hold that many, so MS2.1 locked up. I've been experimenting with other layouts, and I find the same problem happens if I set the calendar to "None" on any of the "extended" calendar layouts.

So what does this mean? Since you are limited to choosing "Three weeks" or "Auto" for maximizing the calendar display (there is no specific "Four weeks" setting, and setting that value manually in the registry still only shows three weeks), you would only be able to use the extended time page calendar in "Auto" mode, which would give three appointments and five weeks of calendar. Any other setting will crash MS2.1.

If that still sounds worthwhile, let me know and I'll finish making the additional layout sets.

Wow! You really do work quick. I'm impressed. Shame about the bug, but auto 'extended' calendar is good enough for my purposes. I'd really appreciate it if you could finish the layout as best as you can.

It's possible, but that isn't what I wanted to achieve with this theme. I'm thinking of doing something like that for my next new theme (after Blue). But for this one, I'm not going to change the layout of the Now tab or the Calendar tab any more than I already have.

Of course, there are plenty of other capable theme creators who might want to tackle that. :)

I'm not sure if its simple or not, but its definitely beyond me..what I really need in Spb is its calendar function and I really liked how Robodad put the calendar on a second tab..

All I ask is the calendar tab, and home screen of Robodad's PointUI theme, and maybe with a blue bg? I dont need the 9 icons nor do I need the 3 page speed contact..I dont even need the X button..can anyone tackle this for me?

I found this in the forum somewhere. It works for me.

Somehow the registry editor for WM5 and WM6 setup differently. With this small file it will solve your problem. I think it says that you must install in your device and it is only 152 KB.

- SPB Mobile Shell 2.1 compatible!
- Vista Home Premium frame
- Vista Home Premium startbar
- Vista Menu Icons (launcher itself still needs a makeover)
- Includes newer vista connection icon.
- Speeddial Pictures fit within in the Aero frame.
- Newer MRU button background.
- Newer Weather icons.
- Moved the "time" in laucher/mru/speeddial to simply have more space for the connection icons in case of a longer operator name. (the program "Personalizer" to change the operator name doesn't seem to work always).
- Brightened the start button compared to the older version..
- Fixed the overlapping (icon) problem for the aero frame.
- Fixed the overlapping weather problem.
- Fixed the overlapping contact problem.

I love this layout: this has exactly all the features I would like to have (and no theme matched fully yet) - great job.

I don't like the tabs though, they are too massive. I loved the style of the dock you used in original blue wall and blue ray.

Nice work. I noticed you found a way to add the connection status to the carrier name, and apparently not just for SPB, but for other uses as well. How did you do that? I bet more than a few people would be interested. :)

Ok, I decided to utilize the built in Now screen settings since some may would like to see calendar info in the now screen. Below you will find screenshots and updated files (layout and minor battery and signal graphic enhancement) for the Blue Wall Tab theme. Download and replace existing files in your device, restart and you should be good to go. Please wether you check or not to show calendar in both simple now screen, it will still no show any calendar since calendar is now integrated in Time screen.

I wish I can answer you with an awesome tweak instructions, but I can't. I'm using Alex's custom rom and since then it always displays that way. It always show 3G even when I'm on wifi. And I have no idea on how to tweak/modify that. Sorry. I think this just has to do with the operator name tweak. Not sure.

I hope the SPB crew will fix the BIG Operator icons aswell so the POINTUI will be fixed in the now screen and has the connection icons somewhere there aswell...

I made a previous version that had both the small and 'big' operator in the NOW screen and from the smaller operator icons I just took cut out the operator range indicator so it just doesn't show up (empty space) then you still have the (double) operator name hanging there which you cannot disable (unless you use an blank operator name by tweaking it). To make it run in all the other screens aswell I made a new "operator_now" and inserted this in the lockscreen.xml aswell (copy of smaller one without these icons) just for the NOW screen). It worked fine but just didn't like it with 2 operator names there!

This is my first attempt at this MS2.1 skinning thing. Thanks to all developers like Kulet, azzambm and Dredd, from whose works I learned a lot.

This is still under development, ONLY Portrait support. Landscape support will follow soon.

I'm posting this for feedbacks on bugs or suggestions for adjustments/modification.

Features:

1) It doesn't matter if your using a Classic or Professional Now Screen. Same layout designs for both.
2) To change from Analog to Digital Now Screen, just swipe the screen Left to Right or vise-versa, much like the GSmart Today Theme. No need to go to SPB MS Settings.
3) Contains 5 Tabs: Now Screen, Calendar, Launcher, MRU, and SpeedDial.
4) Support for Voice Mail (untested as i don't have a Voicemail Acct), and Connection Icon.

A wireless/bluetooth icon apparantly only works in classic NOW view (the same as one of those 4 quicklaunch icons)... What about this background?

Thanks for appreciating it. It's hard work: creating images, editing layouts and editing XML's, plus thousands of Soft Resets! (maybe I'm just exaggerating, just a couple dozens. hehe) Doing this makes me wonder if Kulet ever sleeps! Hehe :p

If you are into XML editing, you can edit Main.xml to exclude the tabs you don't need.

Ok, as we all know it is a pain to have to continually soft reset our devices to test skin layouts and what not. There is an easy way around this...if you are running a windows based pc you can install a Windows Mobile emulator. The following steps will get you a WinMo6.1 emulator.

1. get and install the WinMo 6 SDK refesh

2. get and install the WinMo 6.1 SDK

To get to files on your computer from the emulator state you just goto (once the emulator is running)File->Configure and set the shared folder to wherever; this will appear as your Storage Card.

As I stated this will only get you a WinMo 6.1 emulator; if you want other versions you will need to track down the SDK for that version and install it. I will help people out as best I can, but please, please read the above pages throughly, as most questions are answered in them.

IMPORTANT
Once you have the emulator state setup the way you like make sure to save the state when you exit! This way it will load with the same settings next time. It's a nice way to revert back if you really bugger something up. So save it when you are happy with it.

Thank you again for your nice skin and I have notice in spbmenu page, time page and weather page not show status bar (battery, time, operator and connection status) as another page in your skin.

So I have modified spbmenu.xml, time.xml and weather.xml to fixed this problem already. (base on RoboDat's PointUI Skin)

So I had to hard-reset my device due to some issue and now its back to its original HTC-ish look. Dialer, Action Screen, Comm Manager and other programs all had the same look. This gave an idea to create a very simple MS2.1 theme to match everything. Below is the screenshot of my attempt on a HTC-ish look. I didn't bother using HTC's icons since I didn't like them. Instead I used mine and I think it looks better.

As always, Today Tsk (not mine, came with Alex's custom rom), S2U2 are included and this has landscape support. Also, this has the same layout as the Blue Wall Tab Proper.

And to greatbal, good job on your theme and I do sleep...an hour a day :)

The design of your skin is fantastic : well design, looking professional.

The only change I would see is some adjustments regarding the date.

I think it could look better if you display the date in only one line, and center the date just under the clock.

A question:
I change the background and the status icons of gsmart-skin (I want bigger ones). In qa_status.xml I also changed the size of the icons. So far so good.
But where I have to change the distance between the status icons, because the bigger ones are overlapping now (see picture below)??
I hope someone can tell me.
Edit: I installed MS2.1 but miss the connection indicators in this skin.

Edit2: I managed it on myself (see picture 2). Just editing the 3 lockscreen-files in qa_layouts.

Use a good file explorer such as Total Commander or Resco File Explorer and enable the options to view all "system" files and "hidden" files...you should then be able to "see" the files in the \Windows folder...

Maybe they are somewhere else on Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro.
