Basic software in ROM:
- HTC Home 2.1 6 tab by undetect @ pdamobiz

- GPS4PPC
- VisualGPSce
- Oxios Hibernate 1.4 (Free RAM)
- SIMManager
- TCPMP 0.81
- vSnap
- SDHC Patch.
- PCMKeyboard 0.14 with layouts from pairojn @ pdamobiz (you need to put your language layouts by yourself but default is Thai keyboard)
- ect.

Default ROM region is Thai (Yes, you can change it), you also can change the HTC clock and others images by using HTC Home Customizer. I'm sorry about that.

New flash tools (http://www.gagashare.com/download/?file=167739172310345). Passwd is 'p526club'.

Instructions:
1. Backup your data. Copy the xml network configuration file in \Windows to your PC. (File name look likes install.xxxxx.xml)
2. Flash HK ROM version 6.1.6 HK by using the official tools, download from Asus Official site or
here (http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/IA/P526/V616_CHS_HongKong_EXT_V164.zip). This for making your boot loader to be 6.1.6 HK version. (It's the important step, unless you'll brick the device).
3. Flash my new WM6.1 Rom using the new tools. Double click the flashrom.bat and follow the instructions.
4. Wait until 100% completed and your device will reboot to new OS.
5. Copy the network configuration files back to \Windows and you can setup your GPRS, MMS configuration.
Recommended: You should not restore PIM from WM6.0 backup file. This will bring your device to unstable state.

i've been monitoring this thread for some time now...
waiting some feedback before trying flashing myself,saw few people bricked their set by flashing to 6.1, so a little bit scared :p

nevertheless, posting this to show appreciation to your work. Thank you very much for making the effort posting at non thai board. Stoping by at pdamobiz some time ago but can not understand anything at all :p

I have the official rom, but everytime i tried to flash, always give a wrong ext error.
Used to be able to fix this by editing .ini files, but its somehow not working now.

btw, also tried to remove thai initial from startup, before, threaded sms stopped working. Its working fine after i put back thai initial into startup. Something to do with font service ?

you can try d/l-ing the newer rom version (2.81) from the link i posted few days ago (pdamobiz). There are few mirrors for this version. Rapidshare for sure is working.

currently using this version, so far so good.

What i did last time is: I flashed HK ROM version 6.1.6 HK, and then replaced the file in the extracted HK ROM folder with one from somphon, and then flash for second time.
Since I already edited the .ini file when flashing with HK rom, the second time did not complain anything.

ver 2.81 can use original (official ASUS) tool to flash.
to be very save:
1. download official HK ROM (as stated in the 1st post).
2. flash with HK rom. If failed stating wrong ext, browse to the extraction folder you specified when running the tool, and edit the .ini file to make it same EXT code.
3. Browse to the extracted folder (same folder as mentioned in step 2). You will see 1 file having same name and extention as the new 2.81 rom file that you download.
4. replace the existing file with the one you download (2.81 rom)
5. run the flash tool again.

I tryed to flash your ROM on my P526 as you explaind.
But as I wanted to flash the HK Rom with the Asus tool, it stopped bevore it begans because the extension Rom or something like this doesnt match with the other!? [I have already WM6.1 from the asus-forum flashed (pdamobiz 2.4). Since I did this, the gps doesnt work any more.]

It seems that I am the only french user using a P526 and trying to update it to WM 6.1... :)

I've read the entire posts and i cannot download any of the software indicated... :

- The Asus Flash tool (on gagashare, entering the pic code but never downloading the file)

- The new ROM...

Is there anybody who can put on public ftp server or direct download the necessary files?

I hope that you will feel sorry letting a poor french user (and some foreign else!) alone with his sad old original ROM... :)
