Hi,

i have a Sandisk 8gb micro-sdhc. As soon as I snap in the card, it pops out again. Sometimes it lasts in there for about 5 seconds and pops out again before i close the cover.

Has the Polaris a hardware failure or what can i do? Shall I give it back? I'm from Germany. We can swap it with a new one, without problem.

I read about this problem before but I can't find the thread.

Have you pushed the card far enough? You must feel the resistence of a spring and the card should snap when releasing.

I would suggest replacing the card with any other MicroSD card to see
if the other one fits correctly. If not, you know that it is a hardware
issue of your device.

I did push it as far as I could with my fingernail. It made a click-sound, but after a few seconds it jumps out again. I have no other card for testing. I think replacing the phone is the best.

Or is there any other testing method?

Altough the card jumps out often from my Polaris, it fits very tight in my microsd->sd card adapter.

It looks like that your card slot doesn't work properly.
Recommend to get your TC replaced.

Yeah, i called my dealer. He says, I must return it within 14 days and there must not be scratches and I may only call 15 minutes, to get it replaced. But my 14 days are expired. Because of this, I have to send the phone without accessories back to repair it.

I had the same problem.

I put one drop of superglue on the long edge of the card (let it dry!), and now the card fits fine.

Hi, thanks for the hint.

Btw: One week after my sd-slot worked again, my frontspeaker did malfunction ( it didn't make any beep), phone is now under repair. And they're waiting for the spare part to come.

I had the same issue - Micro SD card not staying in the the slot - the first day I received the device. I sent phone back to HTC, and they replaced it with a new one.

I also have the same problem, but i dont want to go though the effort of sending this back...especially since the warrentee expired..
I've tried opening up the phone to try and fix it myself, but i cant seem to find the right screwdriver..
Does anyone know where i can find a screw driver to open the phone up?

I think it is a little crazy. When you sent it back, what did they say to you about it? I am having the same problem and need to send it back. The only problem is to be without a phone for up to a month. I am also having a problem with the scroll wheel sticking. I never got it wet or had any spills near it. I am not happy with this. I don't think that for the money that we spent, we should be having these problems. Oh well, such is life.

Such hazards appear in everything made in serial construction whatever the price/quality of the product...I can say Polaris had very few problems in comparison with other devices like my old Qtek s200,in every 10 devices one had a problem.
I heard HTC touch HD is having alot of problems too

I definitely understand that things happen. What I cannot understand is the way they deal with the warranty repairs. We spend a lot of money for their product and expect a quality product. Things happen and defects happen, but what my issue is, is the way they handle it. I first sent an e-mail several months ago and still have not received a reply. I then called only to be told that they wont even cover shipping for the repair and also the fact that they need to authorize a credit card to even start the repair process. They stated that the covered repairs are totally at the discretion of the tech working on the phone and that for this issue it can cost up to 450 to repair. Again, I understand that sometimes defective products happen, but I cannot understand how they don't stand by their product enough to make it happen without the inconvenience. If I would have bought a phone from a wireless company, they would have sent out a phone for a replacement to either have or to use while the other phone is being repaired. At the very least they would have sent a proper box with return shipping information.

Don't get me wrong, I can't think of another phone that I want more except for maybe a newer version of the same.
