View Full Version : Active Sync is garbage

Active sync is a piece of crappy programming! Whoever wrote this thing ought to be taken out and shot!

Sometimes it just refuses to connect I have to reboot my device and computer repeatedly until it decides it is in the mood to connect and then when it does, I can sync but then it won't stop - it just syncs over and over and over again. Every time it does so it takes over the computer. If I try to type, the letters get lost as it takes control. If I try to select something with the mouse it makes the menu disappear before I can get to the item I want. It is driving me nuts. Does anyone know how to corral this stupid thing so it does not steal focus from the keyboard and mouse? Currently I cannot leave it plugged in and use my computer.

I second that, after i flashed with gpstest2.1, i lost AS within a day and none can do, it seems that AS is MIA for my touch. My only option now is to reflash :-(

do either of you have firewalls activated on your machines? if so, try disabling them before creating your AS relationship. There is also a setting on your Touch to Enable/Disable enhanced USB connectivity. I would suggest disabling this feature and then trying to connect and sync via AS.

no i don't have a firewall and the one from XP is disabled as well. I ended up doing a hard reset after trying everything else people suggested. I guess AS got corrupted and that was the end of it.

flashing your ROM and end user error is no reason to bash perfectly good software that 98% of the WM users use on a daily basis.

just a heads up.

My Touch is stock I have not done anything to it and the firewall on my PC should have no impact on a device that is hard wired in via the usb port. I am not syncing over the internet! If it does then my statement about the program being garbage is still true.
