How on earth did you come-up presuming that India is the number 1 in terms of mobile users in the world? No offense mate, it doesn't sound right nor figuratively speaking correct. Do you have any reference you can show us to prove that one?
Depreciation of electronic goods may it be mobile phones/tvs/computers et al will really hit the floor once new products/models are available. Just think of it if no new products are avail, then you are stuck for good with a very old item.

India's market is for dumb phones like nokia and others. Most retailers dont even know about Atom and can't even distinguish between Atom and Atom Exec.

obviuosly PDA market didnt hit end consumer well like iphone do as its more complicated to use which hang more often than normal phone, so phone dealer will not take in as high as what you get in the first price, as the person who buy it will have see value on pda phone, taking it in just like buying a laptop that fits in your pocket with phone feature, not everyone see pda phone like us in xda-dev
btw ya i know india has a big market & population is high, but i dun consider as the no1 in the world. as china is more of production industrial, they have sell more china made phone den any other country, india is also selling well with china made phones now, dual sim, tv, touchscreen.. but junk if its not windows mobile to us.

My userid is INDIACAM not INDIANRAM, the one who posted this thread. Please dont confuse.
Obviously I am too from India and bought Atom Life on 9-Feb-2008 at Rupees.23500/- with SalesTax Paid invoice from Authorised Dealer (Mentioned on www.seeO2.com (http://www.seeO2.com) site) and with 1 year warranty.
Now why INDIANRAM paid Rs.33000 this year for same model I dont understand. Or is he bluffing?
As I am from Mumbai, India's Financial Capital, there is huge awareness about PDA and Windows Mobiles, hence here even after 15 months of rigourous use, I can sell my mobile at Rs.10000 + -. My friends are ready to take it anytime with modded interface line Manila and PointUI and lots of applications loaded. What surprises them is TCPMP playing FLV and DIVX AVI videos at smooth 25fps videos without a hicups.
Now why INDIANRAM is under-estimating ATOM LIFE is out of my thinking. It seems he is somewhere from rural india or may be he asked resale cost to some scrap dealer :D.
Dude wake up, ask right people. Tell us the real price you paid and date and place of purchase. I still have original invoice with me which proves cost and date.

Hi Amit
I think you are talking about only grey market and china mobiles. Most grey market dealers are illiterate dumb as-ses and you cant expect illiterats to give you information about PDAs. If you go to Authorised Dealer of any company you always get proper information. I myself and everyone in my technical friend-circle are using WM and PDAs since 10 years or more and have sensed very much awareness here in Mumbai. Hence I disagree what you are saying. I disagree what you say above about India's market is for nolia. To further add more, I have seen many people recently switching from non-PDA Nokias to PDA Phones from HTC, LG, Samsung, Sony Erricson and other WM pda-phones.
It depends where you stay. Awareness of technical things are too different in Rural part and Urban part of any country.
