how about spb backup not working ?

For SPB Backup to work properly you have to disable "stop all programs" because the app tries to close itself and gets hung up. I have mine to auto backup at night and just make sure that no apps are running before I go to bed.

FYI:
I've just tried, 1.65.20.29 with this ROM and the Camera does not work. Nothing but a black screen. Gone back to 1.58.21.23 and all works OK.

IIRC the 1.65.xx.xx Radios have Different Drivers than the 1.64.xx.xx That why dutty has 6 releases in his Apr 29th Release. 3 for 1.64 (Cube, Non, and Lite) and 3 for 1.65 (Cube, Non, and Lite) So without the proper drivers I could see that camera not working correctly.

So something new just started happening with the multimedia version of the ROM. This morning when I went to turn the screen on I could never get the screen on. Power button pushing didn't work all buttons after trying the power buttons didn't work. The screen just stayed off. Soft reset left the phone "off", turn it on - no issues. Screen locks (Exchange security) screen turns off and issue has returned.

I don't suspect the ROM itself but something I've installed, although nothing has been installed in the past 2 days and this issue started happening this morning. Also I noticed that overnight my battery dropped from 60% to 20% very strange for this ROM as I've gone almost 72hours on one charge.

Any thoughts? Nothing was running according to taskmanager except activesync which, on off peak hours only polls server every 15 minutes, and has been set that way since I flashed.

I'm going to flash to the Favorite version probably, unless v5 shows up suddenly.

Just use Total commander to edit the Shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Multimedia and remove the Parameters.

Hey, first off great job on the ROM. It runs nice and quick and with just a couple issues that I have found. The first is every so often I have to do a soft reset in order for the active sync to work. Also I was getting the auto-response, showing it has been received, from sending a sms message over and over again even after selecting not to request one.

I use Vito's Zoomboard as a keyboard, and this latest v4 ROM is the ONLY ROM of the v2, v3 and the other 3 v4 ROMs that I have been unable to change the keyboard to zoomboard. Sometimes SIPchange was necessary (the cooked one, but not Sleuth's), and sometimes it wasn't.

v4/4th flavor is the only one that I have been consistently unable to do this on.

I would like the answer to this as well. I'm on the Vanilla version, tried the new version with Opera included, but the ROM wasnt as fast as the Vanilla. I've tried several versions of Opera 9.5 I've found, but they freeze and/or dont work nearly as well as the one you've included. So I'm back on Vanilla, jonesing for some more Opera. Any help, or a link to the Opera version you included in the latest ROM?

Yes, any HTC Kaiser based Phone is compatable with these ROM's.

To get started with Flashing click on the Getting Started Link in my Signature and Read as much information as possible.

Make sure you cover HardSPL and Radio flashing and you shouldn't go far wrong.

You know I was a bit scared about This Opera 9, reading all the bad problems people have been having. But Leo, man, you make this look easy. It works so good, I can't believe it took me this long to make the jump. :cool:

PS I would never tell a Chef what to do, But I was a little surprised when I found PIMBackup was not cooked in. No biggie I have the Exe and dropped it in. :)

One question:
When typing the numbers of a phone number on the dialing pad, the program searchs for the name that matches the letters that I type. So if I press"55" it looks for any number starting with any combination of the characters "JKL". So it would search for any contact starting with "JJ", "JK", "JL", KJ", ...

I *Think* I saw other dialing pad that would also search for the exact number seach. So when typing "55" it would seach for contacts starting with the same combination of lthe characters but it would also look for any phone number starting with "55". In the V4 (at least the lite version) this doesn`t happens. Do I have to use a diferent program or this is just an optional feature in the dialing screen?

Is there a way to remove the “clicking” sound when pressing the Start menu, besides going to >Setting>Sounds & Notifications> and unchecking Events? Doing this does not allow audible MSVC notifications thru the BT headset. On most roms, I would delete .wm6 entry in the hklm\snd\event\.scheme , but Laurentius’ roms have Curr0 entry.

* phone pad, installed a version, it comes up white the available virtual keyboard, but when i click it, it keeps on the reguraler keyboard, the transcriber and the cooked in stuff works, but i really need this keyboard !

I have been running MF4 for about 3 days and it is awesome! Thanks for putting together such a stable ROM! I am most impressed by the limited power usage. I would say this is %10-%15 better than the standard ROM (at least!)

TouchPal 3.0 is a great SIP even for the Kaiser, I love this SIP!

It has tons of features in a not so big package!

Thanks Laurentius for an excellent ROM. I have an issue with the backlight. It appears when my battery drops below 50% the backlight automatically defaults to the lowest setting. I can increase it, but every time I turn my Kaiser on it drops down again. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

That is an idea. I personally have been staying away from the 1.65.xx.xx radios Because of their incomparability to be interchanged easily. If I want to change from the 1.64.xx.xx to a NIKI radio, is simple. If I want to get from a 1.65.xx.xx to a 1.64.xx.xx Radio I have to flash a whole new ROM.

Hi. I can confirm that iGO 8 with enabled HTC Home doesnot working. I must disable HTC Home on today screen, then soft reset, after that iGO starts normal. With enabled HTC Home, when iGO is clicked, just wait cursor appears for second or two, and then nothing.

Already tried that, and it doesn't work unless HTCHome is completely disabled. (yes assisted GPS is also turned off). :( That's why I switched back to Dutty's Apr 29 ROM.

I don't know if this is of any help, or correct, but I read that if you turn off the HTC Home's Weather, Music, and Profile tabs that you can get iGo to.... umm... go. But I don't use iGo nor HTC Home, so this is just something I found while reading.

I have been helping with the Death ROM beta and previously using Dutty's hybrid. Your favorite rom has been stable after three days of use pretty much from all aspects - speed, stability, etc.

I have PhoneAlarm, SPB Mobile Shell 2, Pocket Plus and Phone Suite all installed at the same time (all resource hogs) with NO issues! I have been able to customize HTC Home.

Bottom line looks good!

Lastly (having had some issues getting radios to play nice) 1.64.08.21 radio is working great here in WV, USA on ATT.

Is there anything I can test for you prior to your next ROM?

I have tested all the great roms out here, and perhaps yours is the best, I tried the my fav Rom version 3.51.502.0 WWE, Radio is 1.64.08.21. The rom run Smoooth, there is one thing I had a problem with when I installed tomtom, each time I started the program, it would go out and look for a connection, ISP< and it wouldn't connect, so I went a head, and deleted that and now worked fine. Today, I wanted to setup my gmail, and now each time I hit send/recieve, I get an error that my interenet is not connected, now when I am using the opera browser or IE its work fine. hope you can send us a twick or something, to clear this Issue, Hey LEO YOU JUST ROCKED THE WHOLE ROM, DUDE I THINK I WILL STAY WITH THIS< UNLESS YOU GOT SOMETHING BETTER< BUT DON't KNOW WHAT Else would I need? Oh I gotten this cool keyboard, touchpal, It works great, everyone should download it...search it up, download taurusBulba tilt keyboard fix, for tilt only. vtap don't run as fast, but that is an issue with all the new ppc windows. Opera rocks, the best browser, but the touchpal wouldn't hit space in the search bar, hope someone gotten a twick and post it some place. Thank you All, you all rock n roll.:)

I flashed to the multimedia version just under 2 weeks ago and, although I still get the occasional crash, its far better than the tmob rom.

If anyone's considering doing it, just do it. Is worth it and, providing you follow the instructions to a T, hasslefree.

Thanks Laurentius for an excellent ROM. I have an issue with the backlight. It appears when my battery drops below 50% the backlight automatically defaults to the lowest setting. I can increase it, but every time I turn my Kaiser on it drops down again. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

I honestly think the Backlight brightness is set low in the Cooking Process to perserve some battery power. I don't have a problem but as I think about it, Leo's ROMs light level has been lower than other ROMs I've used. It doesn't bother me too much though. And I could be wrong.

Btw you have reglogger in ROM, maybe you can log the changes with it?

hey leo have u tried radio 1.65.20.29? for me in us nyc its pretty damn good,,,,i dont know about battery life but thats not a huge problem for me since i allways have an extra charger for work,car charger etc but call quaility is nice ...maybe release two versions? ur radio of choice and the newer radios?just my two cents ...as allways looking forward to next release.

I searched the forum and I found people that had similar problems while using new cities (cities that didn't original came with the HTC Weather); The problem is that I'm using a city that came within HTC weather City list, so there should be no problem. Tried SR several times and I don't want to do a HR since I can restore my data from where I am.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

are any of your roms compatible with the new radios? It didn't appear so when i looked at it, though this may not be an issue much longer if Jockyw2001 is correct and he has a working solution to get me off of the radio from hell.

Edit: I'm trying several camera packages with it, Navadi's/Default but no joy yet.

It seems like the new display driver (ddi.dll) is not compatible, or the radio doesn't like to work with the camera.

So maybe you are lucky and I need to make the rom compatible with the new radio's :rolleyes:

I disabled voice command and WowHD... neither made a difference.

I've flashed Laurentius V4 "My Favorite" and I am trying to customize it to better fit Brazilian Portuguese number format. We don't use US phone number format like (NNN) NNN-NNNN, but NN-NNNN-NNNN instead. I've changed regional settings to Brazilian Portuguese but numbers when dialing a call use the US format. Is there a way to change to local format?

I've loved the reading email subject feature, but it won't fit very well for my Portuguese messages. The accent makes it almost impossible to understand. So, what software package is on this ROM that is used to read emails? I'll try to find a better reading of portuguese emails, or disable reading if can't find. Actually, how can I disable the email reading?

Hi all,

Still struggling to figure out what causes this! I've rebuild the phone several times now, and after a few hours incl. some warm-reboots, it's not able to recognise the SDCard anymore. Another problem which I figured out is that it disables RAPI too, which makes connecting with ActiveSync impossible. Luckily I was able to build an enableRAPI.cab file, which enables it (which I sent by mail to my phone!)...Well... Anyone that knows what this might be caused by?

I'm usng the V4 MM Rom and the radio that came with it, and the camera is working fine for me. In fact, the battery life and radio performance with the combo is amazing, and satellite lock for GPS is super quick!

After 24 hours playing with my flashed Kaiser I'm very impressed with your work. I can tell only good things about it.

It is my first encounter with Voice Command and I do not fully understand how it works. The Notifications are fantastic and I wish it would read me the entire email content. I did not figure out how to use Voice Commands to give the Kaiser specific commands. I've tried things like "Dial 123456789" or "Programs Solitaire" but nothing seems to happen. How do I enable those commands discribed on the MS Voice Command website?

One small and rather funny behaviour happend this morning at 5am. I left the Kaiser without charging to see how long the battery will lost. When the battery was very low this morning at 5am the Kaiser went beserk vibrating without stopping untill I soft reset it. Kind f intersting way to wake up at 5am :-) I guess this has something to do with Notification for low battery status?

I had this happen to me once. Though It was a long time ago and I was using a dutty ROM. I either got a phone call, or had an alarm set. Anyway it just kept vibrating. So I soft Reset, Never happened again. So See if it happens for you again.

Dear all,

I figured it out! It was not caused by the ROM but by the fact I hadn't upgraded my ROM since the latest Service Pack update of Exchange. That Service Pack added certain features that restrict usage on the device unless turned off... More details will follow in the thread (as soon as I've created some screenprints):

If you are unsure of how to use voice command, ask it " what can I say?" it will give you a list of available commands as well as more detail on specific commands.

For calling you must first say "call" and then whomever you wish to call or the number you wish to dial.

To launch an app, simply say "start" and the name of the app.
You can also use media in album artist or track, for example "play ACDC"

Okay now this behaviour is getting worse. Everytime when the phone is in standby mode (screen off) and has several notifications already waiting (not sure how many) and one more is coming in the phone starts vibrating without stopping. I can only stop it by soft restting.

As I'm using the email alert notification this happens to me allot now.

Question: Is there a way to have only sound alerts from voice commands with no vibration?

To launch an app, simply say "start" and the name of the app.
You can also use media in album artist or track, for example "play ACDC"

Help flashing please. I'm following the steps but it's still confusing me. I got the hardspl loaded on my tilt now i'm trying to flash L26_WM6.1_PROV4_(3.51.502.0_WWE) My_Favorit.rar onto my tilt but i'm really not sure how to flash it. I downloaded it onto my PC and tried to drag it over into my files on mobile center but it says there isn't enough room. Basically what I am asking is exactly how am I supposed to flash this ROM onto my tilt. Please help i'm excited about trying it and I want to do it quick. Thanks guys.

You have done a great job. This version is stable and very good. I just waht to know if there is any way to configure the multimedia, to de messages or calls.
There is any way we can stop the voice ?

U mean the voicxe announcing calls and messages? If yes, thats the MS Voice Commander. U can turn it of in settings/personal/ms voice command

And what do u mean by configuring the multimedia?
