This is the last version and as stable as the Multimedia version I supose.

The 4 flavours I discontinue because it's taking to many time.

This version 4 is the base I continue with and I'm currently running on my device! ;)

It's still the same base CE OS as previous 3 flavours but I'm searching for the 19900 build to port it to Kaiser.

Thanks for the warning - after installing v3 I went to bed and got a text a few minutes later - not usually a problem as I use a subtle text alert BUT the voice reading my text out woke my wife which didn't go down well!

The only thing so far i found bad for me is the screen response seems a little slugish and this was before i even installed anything. Of course i hard reset after flash but screen taps and using the thumb pad seemed a little slugish. After installing all my cabs/apps and soft reseting a few times it seems a little better. Still a little slugish sometimes on screen taps and response. Other than that, looks and runs great! Still need to test gps and video.

Just a little info for those who want to use PCMKeyboard..

For some reason you can't select it manually, nor does the in-built SIP Change work to select it (for me at least).

So here's a workaround:

1) Download and install the SIP Change file (http://www.4shared.com/file/36905144/ceb77a7c/SIPChange.html). This also installs a shortcut in the Windows\Startup\ folder.
2) Install the PCMKeyboard as you normally would.
3) Run SIP Change and select 'PCMKeyboard'. Change the delay to 0.
4) Soft reset.

Voila! You now have the ability to use PCMKeyboard without any problems as your default SIP.

Just my 2 cents cause I know people may ask...

Change the SMS setting to Normal...

Either use KaiserTweak & disable 'Threaded SMS'.. or
go to Programs-->Utilities-->Phone-->SMS Tweaker v1.0 and choose 'Normal'...

Well, it seems that you may be right, this ROM seems to be slightly slower compared to Dutty's Apr 29 (which I was using earlier)... :(

Just seems to have a slight lag at certain times.. Maybe I'll run a benchmark...

Change the SMS setting to Normal...

Either use KaiserTweak & disable 'Threaded SMS'.. or
go to Programs-->Utilities-->Phone-->SMS Tweaker v1.0 and choose 'Normal'...

My friend, the main reason why i switched to wm 6.1 was for the threaded sms feature, i love it!

edit: OK, so this initially seems a bit slower than the previous batch. Not really sure why. Weather still isn't working for me initially but got that fixed (yay!) using the Kaiser patch from here http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/ I really don't understand why it works now and didn't before but whatever.

Is there a way to customize the cube? some of the links just seem "wrong" to me. The games button just starts chess, what looks like the tomtom icon just starts the screenshot proggie. Etc.

TCMP was working for me in v2 but isn't now. I'll go to start a youtube video and it coreplayer starts and the initially first frame gets rendered but then nothing. It won't play beyond that. I'm gonna go try and reinstall all the tcmp bits and see what happens.

Well, it seems that you may be right, this ROM seems to be slightly slower compared to Dutty's Apr 29 (which I was using earlier)... :(

Just seems to have a slight lag at certain times.. Maybe I'll run a benchmark...

Sorry to compare ur rom to dutty's but ur rom is at the high level duttys are so thats why i compare them in terms of stability, apps working, speed, etc. Most chefs on here arent as fast as u and dutty at releasing quality roms and therefore are left in the dust like dcs (what happened to johan?), tnt, udk, ect. They come out with one, maybe 2 releases in maybe 2 months or more before anything new and usually by the time they come out with something new, u and dutty are already 3 steps ahead. Im also talking about full roms including multimedia and everything that this $600+ phone is capable of. I dont waste my time with clean or naked roms and have to install 30+ cabs to just have all the apps back that would already be included in a full rom like urs or duttys. Im not saying udk, dcs, tnt, etc arent great chefs, just some empty feeling roms arent my style. I just feel that not just because a new build comes out means it always gonna be better then the last one since like i said comparing this rom to duttys apr 09 build, his is much faster. Im just referring to his apr 09 rom since saying that is easier than memorizing the build and os numbers. Honestly i feel the build in his march release, i think it was 19999 (something like that) is still the fastest build/rom for the kaiser/tilt out there now and if a chef can perfect that rom/build then im sure it could be faster and more compatable then newer roms. Seems the only problem with that build is he couldnt get mms/sms to work properly and no other chefs decided to pick up where he left off but to go on another project and another. Just seems that most chefs on here look for the newest build or os to come out to build their unique rom on instead of spending time going back and comparing builds from the past to see if maybe an older one works better. I give a huge amount of credit to u chefs dont get me wrong, it would just be nice to see one spend time on one build that is the fastest, most stable and then work out all the tweaks and configurations to perfect it instead of trying to perfect every new build that comes out and it still not having the speed and stability or compatablities of previous roms that were not perfected because a new build came out so they drop the build they were perfecting to try perfecting the next and so on. Sorry for such a long post, just my personal opinion that people will of course agree and disagree on. I am very greatful for this comunity and forum, its the reason why i upgraded from my 8525 to the tilt! I know u chefs try ur best to challenge urselfs and to please the majority of the community here and i think u so much for that!

It was either the 917166 build or the 19199 build that i think is the fastest one out so far for wm6.1 and of course stable. SOrry i forget which one it is but i remember its the one that dutty couldnt get mms to work right if that helps. Ill flash when i wake up both and then ill know, you can feel the diference.

i just flashed the rom and i have noticed while i was playing around with it is that, everytime i do a hard reset there are times when the thing just hangs at the WM6.1 screen and i would have to press the reset button to get it to reset again.

anyone else sees this happening to them?

Ok, everything was working fine with this rom but decided to flash to the niki radio 1.58.11.07 since that one is the best for me in my area. Ive flashed this radio numerous times on numerous roms all with success through the flashing process. Not all roms were compatable with it but of course it would still flash and run, just no sound. I flashed this radio on this rom and it goes through the splash screen displaying the radio number in red in the bottom right corner as always amoung other numbers underneath then goes to the green windows mobile version 6.1 screen. Now im stuck on this green screen forever! Even when i plug the phone into the data cable for active sync the orange light won't even turn on on the top of the phone to show its charging and of course won't connect to active sync. If someone calls me it just rings all the way through to voicemail. The green light does flash as usual on the top of the phone but thats it. I started off with 100 percent battery before i did this so i know i have enough battery to re-flash which im assuming i need to do to fix this problem. Can anyone please help me or advise me of what to do? I tried soft resetting and hard resetting with same problem, wont leave this green screen, please help!

Here's a cab for Vibra Switch which will allow yout to easily switch between Vibrate and Ring. You can then map this to your PTT or your long End Key Press or use HButton to map it to any other button held down.

Ok but how can i reflash at all if my phone wont connect to active sync or even charge on the home charger? Ill look over at the wiki and see what it says in situations like this. Just thought id post here first seeing if anyone had any other advice on how to do this since this has never happened in the 6 months ive been flashing my tilt.

Im flashing back to the stock att rom since many say doing that before flashing to a custom rom helps with flaws just to be safe. For future reference, you don't need to do the SD flash in this case, just put it in bootloader (camera+SR) and it will work... believe me I have experience with this!! I have cooked a couple of ROMs that have left me stuck in splash screen, animated GIF screen and the Windows screen :)

Cool, but I'd actually like to see the long end key press app be used. the one that pulls up the screen that lets you choose to go to comm manager, toggle vibrate, and a couple of other things. Looks like the HTC Action screen. I thought I had a cab for this but I can't find it. Will have to poke around P1Tater's, Dutty's, and AllTheWay's 4shared areas to see if I can find it.

But dang man!!! You are talking V5 already??? Sheesh. I'm still on V2 and about to jump to V4 and now you are talking V5... :eek:

Keep it up! Great stuff. I just can't get over how long my battery lasts on V2. I think battery drain on V2 is less than it ever was for me on my old Wizard on any WM6 rom. I've went 2 days without charging, and that was even playing with TomTom for 30 mins or so yesterday, and I still have like 30% of my battery. Fantastic, and I hope V4 and on will keep this up. This alone will keep me on this build for a LONG time...

I just noticed that flash lite v3 wasn't included in v4 and cant find it except on the Adobe site but they only offer the developer version and I think you have to register......

I concur with this radio on my Tilt. Fast GPS acquisition, great reception here in Colorado, and AMAZING battery life.

Ok, so I'm on L26 V4 multimedia. One bug / oversight I found is that PIM Backup is in \Windows and the link for it is there, but there is no link under \windows\start menu anywhere, so you can't run it directly from Programs anyplace.

I also had it very laggy initially, but after doing my setups and a few soft resets, its performing great! Note I used Kyphur's tool to change my PagePool to 32Meg and have maxed out cache settings :D (just thought I'd try that out).

PIE seems slow on downloads (Opera Mobile screams though). Don't think that is rom specific as I saw that on Confused Stu's also.

L26 V4 Multimedia seems to be a great upgrade to L26 V2 (my prev one). Great job again :)

With me it works fine; it just takes a bit longer with this radio....so I flashed the 1.58.16.27 Niki radio which works very well for me.

This doesn't help your situation, but TomTom worked just fine for me as soon as I installed it. What else have you installed or what other changes have you made in KaiserTweak or Advanced Config? Might be a conflict in what you've installed. Also, are you running the multimedia or vanilla version? I'm running multimedia (if you are on vanilla, maybe something was left out that is required).

@Laurentius26 - IM+ works in the Multimedia version!!!! Same cab I tried to use in the L26 V2, and now it works in L26 V4. Cool!

Also, while I don't use it, I installed TouchPal v3.0 and it installed and works fine on my device too.

Speaking of which, I assume this rom doesn't have RandomAccess in it? I prefer it to regular contacts so I can use my finger to jump to names.

As I understand it, Spb backup doesn't work properly with any WM6.1. Its an issue with the app, not with the rom. The rom has Sprite Backup (older version 5) built into it and people say that works fine. Personally I have a registered copy of Sprite 6.2 and its fantastic (I gave up on Spb Backup almost a year ago. For me Sprite Backup 6 works so much better).

Anyone know if radio 1.64.16.06 works on the multimedia rom? Just though id ask before i flashed it so my phone doesnt scare me again. I cant get a gps fix with the radio that comes with it here in southern california so id like to try others to maybe solve this. The stock radio works great for me for 3g coverage and battery, just no gps luck. I did quick gps then ran gps test for over 45 minutes outside and couldnt get more than 4 sat in view and no lock. I have it set stock as com:4 and 9600 baud rate.

For me (ATT Tilt) the camera didn't work with this radio on the v4 MM or v4 Vanilla. I needed to switch to the 1.58.21.23 radio (pretty decent battery life in SoCal). The included 164. radio ate up my battery.

This rom (Multimedia) is banging and you definitely have a donation coming from me. Coreplayer, Skyforce games, all multmedia apps, all GPS apps work with a fast satellite connections, camera and bluetooth/music streaming, screen rotation seems snappy and working fine for me. Upon startup, I have 45MB free program memory, and once everything finalizes, it drops down to around 35 to 40 depending on the apps. Should it be that low? I've used apps that started at 72MB of free program memory and leveled out around 65MB.

On 3G AT&T in So Cal, with the multimedia version, after 45 minutes of streaming music via Orb over stereo bluetooth, battery status went from 100% to 76%. IMO, that's not too bad!

Omg guys, i flashed back to the radio that this rom comes with and now my phone is completely jacked up! I think ima just call att for my 3 phone replacement in 6 months now. I hate this crap! Now when my phone reboots either from turning it off or soft resetting i can only receive or place 1 maybe 2 calls then nothing!!! On the 3rd or more calls either recieved or placed my phone shows that im connected to the call but of course theres no sound. The person on the other end says they're connected but of course cant hear anything. I tried re-flashing this rom from scratch, hard reset, configure my usual cab installs and settings, still same problem! I even tried flashing to dutty's apr 09 rom and still same problem. You guys think its the phone or what? Im thinking its the phone because its doing this on other roms that used to work perfect on my phone using their radio they come with. Ill try changing the radio now but i dont think that will solve this. Thanks!

That is very strange. I also have a tilt. I loaded up V4 Multimedia, no issues. Just flashed Vanilla yesterday, an so far, so good. Camera works fine and the included radio is the best I have ever used. Battery life is absolutely unbeatable.


For me (ATT Tilt) the camera didn't work with this radio on the v4 MM or v4 Vanilla. I needed to switch to the 1.58.21.23 radio (pretty decent battery life in SoCal). The included 164. radio ate up my battery.

Your welcome, I like to troubleshoot! :D Do you have to have .Net 3.5 Compact Framework enabled in registry for it to work? I know the reg setting upon flashing the ROM is 0. HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.net*** I changed mine to 1 not sure if that would fix it.

Multimedia: You can see, maybe, where I was trying to go with this. You know Test Patterns On the "L26" Logo. A "TV Screen" Border. Didn't turn out as I would have hoped but It was fun to do. Killed some time.

Ok, so I'm on L26 V4 multimedia. One bug / oversight I found is that PIM Backup is in \Windows and the link for it is there, but there is no link under \windows\start menu anywhere, so you can't run it directly from Programs anyplace.

I also had it very laggy initially, but after doing my setups and a few soft resets, its performing great! Note I used Kyphur's tool to change my PagePool to 32Meg and have maxed out cache settings :D (just thought I'd try that out).

:confused:.. you can go to Settings-->Menus-->choose PPCPIMBackup. It'll show on your start menu.

Otherwise, you could make a shortcut of it & cut & paste that in the Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder.. It'll then show up in the Programs list!! :)

I am not sure if that's the case. I think most roms now come a2dp compliant, before this rom I was using DSC 1.7 which is also wm 6.1 and had cyberon voice dial built in. and it was working flawless. After installing this Rom i just installed the voice speed dial from the cab, and the the application would not launch when I hit the bt button. In the past when I had this problems i used to do some registry changes to fix it. this time i tried every thing i knew, nothing is helping, i might be missing something.
anyone know what to do?

Yeah I knew how to do that was just pointing out its missing. But then about 10mins ago I found its in Start -> Office Mobile. Odd spot for it, so I'm going to do some reorg'ing of this (don't care for Internet Sharing in device config either ;)).

As for PP32, I'm not sure I can really tell that much difference. So not sure its worth giving up the memory for it.

This doesn't help your situation, but TomTom worked just fine for me as soon as I installed it. What else have you installed or what other changes have you made in KaiserTweak or Advanced Config? Might be a conflict in what you've installed. Also, are you running the multimedia or vanilla version? I'm running multimedia (if you are on vanilla, maybe something was left out that is required).

@Laurentius26 - IM+ works in the Multimedia version!!!! Same cab I tried to use in the L26 V2, and now it works in L26 V4. Cool!

Also, while I don't use it, I installed TouchPal v3.0 and it installed and works fine on my device too.

I had V4 multimedia installed, everything else works great,( there are small lag when tap on the screen in the beginning, but ok after few soft reset) but the voIP thing is killing me, the other side can hear me clearly, but I don't hear any sound from my phone, this happened since flashed to V3. I have same programs installed in V1-V4, shouldn't be the software conflic. Any idea about this?

Just switched from V3 to V4 Multimedia and have the following issues.
I like to use PCM keyboard (the best one finger keyboard replacement i think) but it does'nt switch to it.
I also use media player (because voice command uses it) . But when i press the power button once it stops playing (audio manager does'nt).
Also it seems the multimedia add-on stopped working for me. Instead of starting tcpmp for a youtube movie it now states i don't have Java or an older FlashPlayer installed.

Any help on these?

I sometimes lose my connection to activesync over the air....this way I missed some of my incoming e-mails. I can cure it by pressing sent and recieve in Outlook mobile but could this be a setting in your rom?
With the standard rom I did not have this problem....

I'm having the same problem Hellsblade is having. I installed the HTC Touch Keyboard and Keypad, but they are not showing on the screen! As it's the first time I'm trying to use them, I'm not trying to fault your ROM... maybe they aren't current or something...

I've also installed HTC Phone Pad, which works just fine until I try to solve my keyboard problem -- I have a Tilt, and for the LIFE of me I can't get the special characters to map correctly!

The only thing that works is the cab file from the WIKI -- and that totally hoses HTC Phone Pad! :confused: And yes, I've tried using SIPChanger (that's included with this ROM), to no avail.

I've tried using the Advanced Configuration program to select AT&T/Cingular keyboard, again to no success. Please someone help me with this!!! It's gotta be something simple I'm missing!!!

This is the ONLY problem I have had with this ROM! It is one of the best all-around ROMs I have used in a very long time!

Hi thx for the tip, but the problem is not to change the default SIP but i can't use the PCM keyboard at all. When choosing PCM keyboard the default keyboard comes up. The other choices like the transcriber work as expected.
NB: tried your solution, but still no luck...

I love Leo's ROM too. I hope that this problem is fixed soon about the bluetooth. The only ROM which doesn't fit into Version A and Version B category is Dutty's April 1st ROM. This is no April fool. The ROM is available in many different PP versions.

The PDAViet ROMs are excellent and these are some fine folks. However, their latest ROM falls in Version B category, while Leo's falls under Version A category.

For me it a must program because i drive around a lot and I just have voice tags to contact where I just hit and dial. For some reason Voice Command does not understand my voice properly. many times it was dialing the wrong person.

I take it you mean you cannot select the map you want but it's listed there.

If so have you tried selecting the map using the D pad and the centre button to select the map you want.

if you want the SIP to change to different keyboard first delete this version from the startup folder, then install the sipchange cab. Make sure you place the shortcut of a new sipchange in startup folder. after first soft reset it will ask you to choose the keyboard when it boots, then after wards you should be fine.

Yesterday I've bought myself a Kaiser at last, and because of the good experiences with your roms for the Universal I used to have, I decided to flash my new Kaiser with your V4 Multimedia Rom (and the new Radio 1.64.08.21). Perfectly stable, fast, good battery use but still I have some minor problems.

* When I turn on 3G functionality (change it to auto mode in the comm. manager) my phone can't connect to the internet using GPRS anymore. I can't make phonecalls and the device says there seem to be problems with the modem on the other side... What can be wrong?

* When starting TomTom on my previous phone, the Universal, using a external BT GPS receiver, I used to see grey bars when I checked the gps-status until they turned blue and gave me a GPS-signal (ready to use for navigation). This process took me about half a minute, sometimes 1 minute, but never longer... With my new Kaiser and its internal GPS I don't see the gray bars anymore, and connecting the GPS takes up to four minutes. I have selected the use of the internal GPS in TomTom (which I've read should be the right one). Have I forgotten anything?

* S2U2 Doesn't seem to work well with my new Kaiser so well; I don't see the "drag-bar" to unlock the phone at all. Any info on this problem?

Ow, by the way, I'm using T-Moblie connection in the Netherlands which has 3G-signal in my area (worked fine on other phones over here).

This process took me about half a minute, sometimes 1 minute, but never longer... With my new Kaiser and its internal GPS I don't see the gray bars anymore, and connecting the GPS takes up to four minutes. I have selected the use of the internal GPS in TomTom (which I've read should be the right one). Have I forgotten anything?

* S2U2 Doesn't seem to work well with my new Kaiser so well; I don't see the "drag-bar" to unlock the phone at all. Any info on this problem?

Ow, by the way, I'm using T-Moblie connection in the Netherlands which has 3G-signal in my area (worked fine on other phones over here).

Maybe another radio should do the trick, I'm very fond of the NIKI radio which can be found in the wiki (http:\\wiki.xda-developers.com).

I have been running the Laurentius26 V4 for 2 days now and I must say I am extremely impressed with the tweaks for the battery life. It is at least twice what I was getting before.

When attempting Video Calls i get a note saying the 3G network is not available. I have checked with other phones and the 3G network is available so where could the problems be?

The SIP Changer on this ROM is kinda weird. You need to install another one as explained in the above link... Just choose the SIP of your choice if it isn't PCMKeyboard!

Although this didn't work for the HTC Touch Keyboard and Keypad, it did work with the HTC Phone Pad! Thanks suntzu! :D

I have a Tilt - Camera wasn't working with 1.64.08.21 and the MM ROM

Flashed the Radio to 1.58.16.27

Camera works now!!
