Hey guys...
Been a while since I have been on here. Moved continents and I am thinking about replacing my trusty T-Mobile UK Vario with a Sprint Touch.
So - a couple of questions...
From looking at this forum, I guess I am correct in assuming that the Vogue is the Sprint flavour of the HTC Touch? I know sprint uses a different technology to GSM and I know the sprint version does not come with WiFi - but are there any other differences between the two varients?
Also - I have seen some GPS discussions here... Does this come with build in GPS that will work with TomTom?
How is the stock sprint ROM? I am guessing that there isn't much choice in ROMS available as there isnt as many networks using the CDMA version.
Finally, don't suppose there are any kind generous sprint associates out there willing to let me use their email address so I can sign up for the sero package is there? I would be very greatfull :)

Two completely different devices the names are just similar.
Sprint Touch = Telus Touch = Verizon VX6900 = P3050 = (a few others I can't remember) = HTC Vogue: 400mhz cpu (qualcomm 7500) - 128mb ram - 256 mb rom - CDMA Rev A - GPS - Bluetooth - NO WIFI
HTC Touch = GSM Touch = P3450 = HTC Elf: 200mhz cpu (OMAP 850) - 128mb ram - 64mb rom - GSM w/ Edge - Bluetooth - G Wifi - NO GPS

Yes it has a working gps radio which does work with TomTom, Google Maps, Live Search, iGuidance, etc. however you will have to upgrade the radio rom yourself, it is still disabled on the stock Sprint rom.

Stock rom is alright as long as you reset it when you first get it and stop Sprint's customizations from getting installed (though there are a lot of custom roms out there if you just look). I did just install jakdillard's 6.1 pro rom when I upgraded my radio for gps last week.

lol I just bought the sprint touch on 5/2/08 and the whole time I thought it was the elf with a 200mhz processor! I had actually installed batterystatus and it was running at 300mhz lol

Thanks for that info - sounds like the Sprint version is better than the GSM version - other than the lack of Wi-Fi.
I have read that that sprintemi address doesn't work anymore...

Love it! I was between this phone and the Iphone, I think this phone is much better then the iphone, highly customizable, windows OS (which is familiar to me) among other things

My buddy here at work just signed up using it last week. It's the latest and greatest posted over at slick deals.

sprintemi still works. as a matter of fact, you can add anything you want in front of the @ symbol and you'll still log in with no problems.
have my touch in hand ;)
