First I would like to officially apologize to the AP team for posting a link to the prerelease of ap4, and im also sorry for any extra work I may have caused as a result of that post.

I have the whole summer off from school, so Ive decied that this fourm needs more rom choices if anyone wants me to build them there own rom please post a list of the apps and a link to a zip or rar of all the apps together and put it in this thread. i have written a little mortscript to make better use of the usbtopc.exe

first you have to have mortscript installed to use this cab go to the link below

contents:
two links with scrips one for microdrive and one for microsd (minisd same thing ) and i have included two icons

what does this do?

well first if you click on the microsd link it changes the reg setting to automatically allow you to use your microsd as usb drive and the same for microdrive.

second it will keep your computer alive while its plugged in so you don't have to worry about it shutting off on you in the middle of a large file transfer after you unplug your device it will go back to the normal ACSupendTimeOut

this should work with ap4 but the drives might be backwards this should also work on anyother device but you only need on as other phones dont have microdrive ;)

Toggle Screen off durning phone call

just install the cab and softreset and when you get a call your screen will turn off in about 30sec and after u end the call the screen will turn off again in about 30sec. you need to have mortsript for this to work

you can add it your self from the add-ons or if you want me to cook in for you i can do that too. I was trying to make three versions but some people like it in 96 other in 128 and i thought that would take up too much space for everyone. :)

at the moment there is not a way to do that but i heard that they are comming out with a downgrade tool so you can go back to ap or stock rom or my rom. but im not sure when it will come out. you would have to ask olipro as he would be the one to make it.

Congratulations for producing such a high quality ROM. I love the splash screens and the desktop PC like animation of the start up. I love the start up audio that resembles the PC.

I've installed most is my programs and done some testing. So far,I have about two freeze up, which is not so bad. However,I've noted these issues:
1. The calculator could not start.
2. The wimp setting program could not start.
3. When using the contact program, if I click on any contact,I get a blank screen. The menu items are also blank. However, instead of clicking directly on the contact,I am able to use the edit function in the menu to edit the contact without problem. It's just that I cannot view the contact details without editing it.
4. visualGPSce is unable to initialise the communication buffer space.
5. Resco file explorer is unable to paste as shortcut consistently. Sometimes it works but most of the time, the paste does not occur.
6. Task manager icon is missing in 96dpi at least. Not sure about the other dpi.

Some of the errors could be application errors rather than ROM, I believe.

Hicalc is what I'm used to, but it is not good to have a non-working component in there. The task manager's icon is not a big deal and is probably a missing resource, but the program itself works perfectly although the icon is not there. The communication buffer initialisation failure issue may be something to ponder. My mind may be playing tricks on me, but I find the GPS does not lock as quickly and the signal is nowhere as strong as before. I'm using 1.57 radio BTW.

I'm using the full version and it all seems pretty smooth so far. Only my data connection for 'web n walk' refuse to connect. Wifi connects ok.

i have experienced a simiar problem but it only some devices. example: i can send ring tones to my g/f razar but i cant send it to my friend razar. the techniclly have different models but i don't know why it does not work. to test you should try a couple of different phones just to see.

You can't, it has been explained many times.
Due to the new "partioned" space, needed to allow the X7510's ROM flash, there is no way to flash it back. May be OLINEX (olipro and cmonex) will release a "downgrade" utility or not. Today's state-of-the-art is simple: you can't flash any original ROM, only the AP3 "adapted" for the new SPL

if anyone knows how to dump the xip out of ap4 then they could take the nk.exe aka kernel and insert it into the rom of their choice. ie stock wm5 or wm6. then they can flash and still keep the new spl. you need to know what you are doing though.

When I used ap3, if I turn on TouchFlo, then I can not use Chinese handwriting. I had to disable touchflo to use the Chinese handwriting. Such handicap occurred in all devices other than HTC. Nevertheless, such handicap has been cured by AP4. Since X7500 came to the world, there was no TouchFlo. Apparently, X7510 cure such handicap in Chinese handwriting. Probably, this maybe the famous x7510 feature.

No, I did not explain myself. I have an athena with spl 3.5 (and also one with 1.2) I meant, can we take the XIP out of the AP4 as PAwel suggests and integrate with the Hdubli rom base and then load on an spl 3.5 based athena????

ok, problems 1 and 2 are fixed.

problem 4 is the app its self and i am attaching a cab with modified reg settings so you wont get the error, you just need to change the com port from 1 to 4.

problem 5 I tried it and it worked evertime but there was an error with .net cf 3.5 so that might have had something to do with it so try it again

problem 6 this is a shortcut in the windows folder named taskmgr that has an icon.

Also (minor/cosmetic) the battery icon on the taskbar overlaps with the date on the Today screen. I know there's a reg hack somewhere to remove this but the settings seem different for WM6.1.

Thanks for this ROM. It is good. No lock ups or freezes so far. Tomtom, PocketBreeze, Ilauncher, PocketWeather, PlanMaker and TextMaker all running well for the last 24h.

I tried the new VisualGPSce cab on your first version of Vanilla ROM and that did not solve the problem, but I noted that com 1 and com 4 are completely missing in VisualGPSce. (I think the reason why I see com 8 but not com 4 is because my system\currentcontrolset uses com 8) I'm now going to install your new version of Vanilla and see if the problem go away. Do you know if I can do a sprite backup of the older vanilla and restore to the newer vanilla? (edit: no. its's not possible to restore. Have tried the SAFE and DEVICE restore options which did not work. ROM option would of course not work)

Edit: Just installed the second version of Vanilla. Tried to use the WP setting and it needs the pin number. I assume I can then change it later. What is the initial pin number irus? (okay see it now. Its's 1676)

I spoke too soon.

WIFI is working perfectly but the bluetooth is not.

I'm able to discover other bluetooth devices, and be discovered by them. However, I'm not able to send or to receive files. The other device is a notebook computer which I've been using in the past to effect file transfer by bluetooth without problem.

Anyone having this problem?

When I used ap3, if I turn on TouchFlo, then I can not use Chinese handwriting. I had to disable touchflo to use the Chinese handwriting. Such handicap occurred in all devices other than HTC. Nevertheless, such handicap has been cured by AP4. Since X7500 came to the world, there was no TouchFlo. Apparently, X7510 cure such handicap in Chinese handwriting. Probably, this maybe the famous x7510 feature.

WIFI is working perfectly but the bluetooth is not.

I'm able to discover other bluetooth devices, and be discovered by them. However, I'm not able to send or to receive files. The other device is a notebook computer which I've been using in the past to effect file transfer by bluetooth without problem.

Anyone having this problem?

to be honest i have this problem sometimes too i can transfer files on some devices but not others not sure why. i don't want to start messing around with new BT stack as i fear there might be more problems then solutions. the only thing i can suggest is maybe try to transfer files over wifi through ad-hoc .... i think you can do that although i have never tried

A: I do not quite understand what you mean by "audio feedback for touch screen"? If you mean when I scroll up and down, the device shall make small sound like "da-da-da-----". If that is the audio feedback, AP4 does not kill the audio feedback". All hardware button including buttom 1 for camera, buttom 2 to activate Opera, and buttom 3 and buttom 3 for press and hold all function well.

I did not find any fault with AP4, it is realiable as AP3. Deep thanks for AP4 Team members. Nonetheless, when I used AP3, I have to sacrefice by choosing between using Chinese handwriting input and TouchFlo. Now, they are happily marriaged.

Ps. I noticed that with your rom (I flashed the full) it happens the following two things
-No clock/media datas on the keyboard frame when the keyboard is attached back to athena (for me is an improvement as I never use it and it keeps the screen on for a bit longer draining bateries)

2. just make sure that when you cid unlock that it does not repartition your device otherwise you can only use ap4, so make sure that its the right version

3. there is a vga version of htc home in the add-on but its not the new one as it takes up too much realestate

Go to Settings System KeyLock . There's a 3rd option (the middle chioce) to Lock buttons if device is locked.. That saved me from pressing the power button as I don't lock my device and it comes on when I attach the keyboard.

I should correct the above statement. What actually happened was that there seems to be a file corruption causing WMP to freeze whenever I try to start it. This is regardless of whether TouchFlo is active. I reinstalled WMP and the problem is gone. A hard reset would defintely fix this too, but I was too lazy to do that, hence the WMP reinstall.

Edit: oops, the WMP that I reinstalled only occupies 1/4 of the screen. Does anyone have the WMP10 cab that would work with 92dpi?

if you have a backup before the problem started then that might fix it but to answer your question i don't have wmp10

No need to after all. It occupies 1/4 of the screen only during the first start up. I went to option and "re-choose" the default skin, and now it occupies the full screen.:D

My backup was for the first version of Vanilla, which does not work for version 2.

I remember that there was the same problem with RealVGA in 128/96 dpi with WMP. This problem occured only in RealVGA v1.1. This is why I am using first release of RealVGA. Here I do not have this effect.

I think from 90% onward,the battery metre will be correct only after a soft reset. I saw 96%, 97% etc,but did not realise that I was doing soft reset along the way, and that without the soft reset it would have just stayed at 90%, although the charging was actually still progressing towards 100.

Edit: it does continue to inch up without soft reset after all, but I can't pinpoint when it will happen and when it will not.

And special thanks to Irus.


To start with, I have to say I am fool. Yes, I have uploaded many ROMs but this did not prevent me to forget about removing SIM card and SD card. So I started ROM upload with those two items in, and when I realized what is going to happen, i was paralyzed.
But then, guess what, this ROM upgrade procedure of Irus is foolproof:D. So nothing special happened. After few minutes, my Athena was ready to start, and it did start with now problems. Wonderful Starting screen and then Windows loading animation, as well as well known audio signal.
Then I had to set the system up. It took me whole Sunday. I have installed all the soft, I am using. Everything works and works faster then in WM6. I do not know if it is because of WM6.1, or simply because my system is new and free of rubbish in registry files.

However I have just done first backup in WM6.1. In old system it usually took well over half an hour. Now it took only few minutes. My last backup file in WM6 was 47 MB. My new backup file in WM6.1 is 31 MB, not a big difference for such a difference in time. Of course I have changed glyph cache for 32 KB, file system cache for 2KB and file system filter cache for 8 sectors, but this settings i had in old system as well. However, I wonder if this are the best settings.

My bluetooth headset (Jabra S320 stereo) starts much faster with this system then with old one. The same with WiFi. It starts and establishes the connection much faster, although I did not change the radio (1.50).

The only odds I have found are:
1. There is no original Opera which was in original HTC WM6. I have installed Opera 8.65, but this is not working with vueFlow. I wonder if anybody has the cab file for version of Opera which was with original HTC WM6.
2. There was only two themes to choose. Luckily I had copies of other themes so no big deal.
3. However I did not have original HTC theme supplied with HTC WM6, and it had also much nicer settings for dialer. The dialer in this system is... forget it. If anybody can supply HTC theme from original system, would be welcomed.
Edit: you can leave with it. Only need to have some time to get accustomed.
4. In contacts the default action for clicking the contact is to open memo, instead of placing a call. Also hard button now shows "New" instead of "Call". This is strange. I create one new account a day if any, but do several calls the same day and to place a call I have to click and wait for context menu. How this can be changed?
5. Ugly Comm Manager. I have changed it for the one I usulay use. I have attached it for others, as somebody asked me for it.

Overall. Great system, no hangups. Seems to be faster. And most of all, it instals with no problems, also if you are like me, not exactly following the rules. This are first impresions, but I have to say: Thanks to Irus.

By the way. If somebody can say something about AP4.0 Manilla Dialer, which is provided in Add-ons with AP4 package. Is it nicer, does it properly work in 128/96 dpi (I mean smart dialing option) ?

I like the green colored dialer with video call button more than the pink one.

Also,would be great if the secondary splash screen can cover the top and bottom in portrait soft reset. At present the top and bottom are white.

In old WM6 it usually informed that the dialer was going to be changed and that it needed reset. Now it did not do that. OK. Lets forget it. The dialer, its colors and shape are pretty good, even more visible in the sun. The problem with dialer is that it behaves in strange way in 128/96 dpi. When you dial digits/letters, it tries to select contacts for you (smart dialing). While in other dpi then 192, the section of the screen were the selected contacts are shown is up one row every time you use dialer. It means this section is moved up over the top edge of the screen, so you can not see them. They were trying to solve it in RealVGA forum, but as I know, didn't manage. That is why in RealVGA there is an option to switch ofF the dialer (HTC, custom or what ever) and revert to standard dialer supplied with WM6, but then you are loosing the video call option, as the standard dialer does not provide video call. If you could cope with it you would gain a title of hero.

Opera is working well and is not asking for registration any more. This is OK. But vueFlo does not see it. In setup form of vueFlo, used to be special option to select browser, Opera or IE for association with. Now there is no such option, and vuFlo works fine with IE.

I already did it. There simply is no any selection filed to select Opera for asotiation with vueFlo. I mean in Settings | System | VueFlo.
In old WM6 there was special selection combobox were Opera or IE were to be selected. Now there is no such combobox at all.

first you need to cid unlock your device by going to the link up top. also if you bought your phone from tmobile or some one like that then you also need to sim unlock which you can also do from the link up at the top. do not install any rom with out cid and sim unlock. if you bought your phone on the web then it is most likly sim unlocked already but if your not sure then you should run all 3 parts of the unlocker when you can get from the link at the top of post 1. good luck if you have any more questions please ask we don't want anyone bricking there device ;)

to my knowledge if you have spl 3.5 the most you can start out with is 120MB. on spl 1.2 you start out with 136MB

first you need to cid unlock your device by going to the link up top. also if you bought your phone from tmobile or some one like that then you also need to sim unlock which you can also do from the link up at the top. do not install any rom with out cid and sim unlock. if you bought your phone on the web then it is most likly sim unlocked already but if your not sure then you should run all 3 parts of the unlocker when you can get from the link at the top of post 1. good luck if you have any more questions please ask we don't want anyone bricking there device ;)

if you alread have ap4 then you don't need the link up top as your device is already CID unlocked :). just make sure that u pick a rom that is for spl 3.5 it should say spl 3.5 some where in the file name. but i must stress this point if you already have ap4 on your device then do not use the link at the top as it might mess something up

well you beat me too it. i was thinking about the same thing. on a hard reset the only thing that you can do is send it a sms but only if your sim card is in there. if they replace your sim card then. there are some minor reg tweeks to put in your own imsi and friend's phone # i was trying to figure out the best way to do that. i might just try to build a config app that write to an xml file on the microdrive and update the config.txt and so the config app will have you enter in your imsi and your friends phone # and that way on hard reset. however the best way is to really just cook it into the hive. i can help you with that if you want just let me know and we can hop on irc and do it together. as far as WIMP not working in my testing i always got it working if i sent it a sms with $wimpxxxx put i never got it working if put in someone elses sim card. i will try the other app you suggested and will let u know. thanks for the heads up

is your bootloader with spl version and serial or usb display on it? Try take your battery out for about ten min. then try get to the bootloader or in the os double click on RUU it will works. i had same problem. but after several attempts i did install IRUS WM 6.1 Full.

I would like to try it but I want to be able to uninstall it if not accepted. With BigMenu was this problem that it could not be uninstalled. Luckily Irus came with his great rom editions.

May be you have some USB DRIVER problems! Activesync (and WMDC) have also the new RNDIS drivers.Try installing Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center, if you are on VISTA

Still no success in updating. I am using spl 3.5 version of lite. I put it in bootloader and when I connect to the pc the serial indicator turns to usb. I also tried to doubleclick the ruu (rather than execute the update utility but that just showed up as an unrecognized program). Still hoping for a resolution.

Also I was not able uninstall it. Finally spent about 2 hours to clear his presence in the system.

thanks for letting me know maybe i will have two versions in there for different dpi :) who knows it will be awhile before version 2 comes out. not to mention if ap5 is as good as i hear, i might just upgrade to it myself providing it works with spl 1.2 ;)

Mine also works very well,but I thought not as well as before. Perhaps it was the overcast weather.

For all applications I'm able to get quiet quick fix,but not in WIMP or sprite terminator, although the GPS data is already on the device.

The position is not an issue for me. It is actually quite good from my viewpoint.

This is about giving users the choice to use it in many different ways.

If it is not possible, then too bad. I'm hoping that some of you who are familiar with the registries might know what to change in order to make the incoming call volume during conversation to be made as low as possible.

Bluetooth stack in AP4 is the only good one for sonyericsson mbw150 watch!

I'm very impressed with this rom and not found any serious bugs. One that I have noticed is the H (as in HSDPA) does not appear at the top, It showes 3g ok. Do you think this is just its not showing or could it be HSDPA isn't working? I'm aware that the H only shows when data trasfer is happening, haiving said that, it plays youtube very well and web pages load quick enough.

The "information" aren't "incorrect". You have the buttons displayed on a transparent background, confused background,I agree, but all buttons are clearly readable and working. :)

Any comm manager found in XDA-DEVS should works in 192 DPI mode and could be installed. The only common problem is the "insufficient permission" message appearing when the installed version is OPEN

Why was so hard in your athena/irus ROM to install another comm manager?

Just noticed that in Vanilla SPL 3.5 the screen rotation (the one in HTC Home [the HTC_Home_VGA.cab from the Addons]) rotates the wrong way from portrait to landscape.
It goes to Landscape (left handed) rather then Landscape (right handed) which gives you an upside down screen when using the keyboard...
Would be great if this could be fixed in a next update !
Is there a workaround for now by changing any registry setting?

I think I may have found another bug. If you go into contacts and tap on a contact, it should show a summary of that contact. But on this rom it has a blank page, none of the persons details such as address ect dont show. I went back to hard reset and only sync'ed the contacts but still the same.

This bug was already reported in post number 26, item 3. This problem occurs in the contact application, phone dialing application.

Even if I use other third party program such as Vito Contact, the same screen is invoked and showing blanks too. These third party program somehow links to the stock contact application and inherit whatever errors this has.

It's confirmed. GPS is far less sensitive and probably partially broken in this ROM.

I just instaled PK Black Touch just for testing purposes. I am able to get both WIMP and Sprite Terminator to lock on the GPS VERY quickly with port 8 (in WIMP) and external GPS setting of software 8/hardware 4/auto. I've already timed and tested my iGO My Way, and it is confirmed that it is a lot faster, with much stronger signal stength, and higher accuracy with PK Black Touch. With irus ROM, Terminator has no chance of using the GPS data at all at the moment. I did'nt test WIMP under irus ROM.

VisualGPSce tells the same story - much faster and stronger signal under PK Black Touch then irus WM6.1.

I also noted that external GPS setting under PK Black Touch as these program and hardware ports:
(None)
Com 0
Com 1 to Com 9

Whereas in the external GPS setting of irus WM6.1, I recalled that some of the ports are missing (I need to install back irus ROM to confirm this. Can one of you check into this and let me know please?) I seem to recall that there was no "(None)", Com 0 and Com 1.

So, there are definitely something missing in the GPS components in the irus ROM.

Note that I'm using radio 1.57 in both cases.

Both ROM are able to get GPS lock with TOM TOM, iGO, Mobile Golf Scorer, although it is faster and with stronger signal in PK Black Touch.

We're very close to having a really good ROM. Just some tiny tiny wrinkle like this to iron out...

I just instaled PK Black Touch just for testing purposes. I am able to get both WIMP and Sprite Terminator to lock on the GPS VERY quickly with port 8 (in WIMP) and external GPS setting of software 8/hardware 4/auto. Im testing out contacts summary in the HTC stock rom at the moment, but as soon as im on irus rom again i will look unless someone else can first. I didn't get wimp to work either.

May be it was the VisualGPSce which shows the missing ports, not in external gps setting program.

Just noticed that in Vanilla SPL 3.5 the screen rotation (the one in HTC Home [the HTC_Home_VGA.cab from the Addons]) rotates the wrong way from portrait to landscape.
It goes to Landscape (left handed) rather then Landscape (right handed) which gives you an upside down screen when using the keyboard...
Would be great if this could be fixed in a next update !
Is there a workaround for now by changing any registry setting?

Don't rotate the screen manually, just attach the keyboard and the screen will rotate the right way :)
OR install quickmenu, it has all the screen rotation options
