Anyone have any info on this? My "ok" button and some of the other's decal are starting to chip off and it makes it a real pain to look at. I just want to know if i have any options on replacing these or am I doomed to keep looking at them like this till they eventually all come off.

I'm having the same problem. I actually just noticed it the other day. Its only on my End call button and my softkey on the same side. i'm pretty sure that its from taking it out of the holster and the little metal clip rubbing against it.

I used to work at a T-Mo Tech Center. There were about 20 out of the couple hundred of us who owned the wing. I introduced every one to XDA and often took friends' Wings home to upgrade thier ROM's. Over half of them had chipped buttons (ie Softkeys, Start, and OK). I always thought those friends didn't take care of thier Wings...until it happened to mine, and I am overly careful with it. I think the best thing we can do is let HTC know, this way It will be taken care of on future product releases.

Interesting post and I am glad the issue is being brought to daylight. It's not fun having a $400(+) phone have a $300(-) look.

As I stated before, it really didnt pop up until about 6-8 months after starting using it. Its coming from the little magnetic clip on the holster.

If not replacing the decals....what about the buttons? Is there anywhere you can buy just the front keypad.

I know you can buy a housing for about 55 bucks, may be worth it. Pretty sure that the front keypad comes with it. I found this...

not a bad find at all, i think the buttons they are talking about is the keyboard seeing as those are the only ones missing. And it does say it has front keypad

Yeah, add me to the list too. My end button is starting to chip. Seems like a big problem. You think they would have maybe made the buttons clear plastic and painted them from the inside so it wouldn't scratch.

that's way too much just to replace the buttons.

To the guy that thinks it's his case: It's not your case. It's these cheap ass button. I don't use a case at all and it came off. Why couldn't they make it the same quality as the send/end (green/red) buttons? I'm sure the Herald users aren't having this problem.

On my first wing the send/end buttons were chipping too. Like you said, a combination of cheap and poor design.

The right soft key is starting to chip away on my Wing. I'd be interested in purchasing just replacement buttons, but it seems they are difficult to track down. I'm surprised ebay doesn't have this kind of thing.

I'd suggest painting the trouble spots back in, but it'd probably just make things look worse...

My buttons started chipping about a month after I got it, like everyone else, thought it was just me. Now I've just been painting them w/ car touch up paint. I just called HTC, and asked if there is a recall or something on it because it's obviously a faulty product if there are so many ppl w/ the same problem. I was swiftly informed that there is nothing faulty about the product, there is no recall, however, if I would like for them to repair it, I can sent it in for a "cosmetic repair" and that would be $75.

I have replaced my phone 3 times through T-mobile. It was under warranty--so FREEEEE! They told me no one else has reported the problem. I have tried, on this last one, to be extra carefull and it has lasted over one month. The others didn't last that long. WOW!

I ordered these Sunday 05 October, 2008 and i got an email saying that they were shipped today. . .took more than a week before it left where it was coming from. If you may need these in the future i suggest ordering them WAY in advanced. as for me i'm missing my ok button and its driving me nuts.

Thankyou! I had this problem happen to me after like five months of having it. Mine did the same thing, except it came all the way off. Im glad my phone broke and i got a new one. Now its back to normal. Im taking extra care of it now. Its the paint they used, theres no type of clear coat on it. so it make it easy to remove. I thought i was the only one to have that problem.

here's a dissassembly guide I found. Although it's for replacing the screen, it goes far enough for you to get to the buttons

http://www.modd3d.com/articles/item/how-to-replace-the-screen-in-your-t-mobile-wing

I need a button too. I just bought a wing on the cheap but missing a button. So if anyone finds a good cheap place to get one I'll be grateful. The cheapest one i found is on ebay for $16 including shipping

$16 is pretty cheap. That's about what I paid for mine, and installed it about 2 weeks ago, and it makes such a difference!

Be sure to check on EBAY for the ones that come with the tool, T-5 or T-6,etc. I only had a small screwdriver, and it was a pain in the ass.

You only have to unclip the very top of the shell, to get the old buttons off.
