I was inspired by Outerdepth's change he made by adding Low(temp)|High(temp) in todays temp , so i also changed it to read that. I knew that you couldnt spell out the whole words low|high in the tomorrow forecats line,
but i still wanted something like that. I modified the .mscr to look like:
Tomorrow Lo(Temp)|Hi(Temp) (Time) (AM|PM). but it kept cutting off the (AM|PM) so i tried modding the .cpr file and moving over the text to the left and even making the width larger, but it still would never show. Is there any way you can get it to do this without removing (AM|PM) ? I think you could make it work if you scooted the time a little closer to the temperature.
so i'd like to see that change (ex: in the header, read: Dallas, TX Low 60°|High 82°) and (ex: in the field text on the tomorrow line, i'd like it to read: Tomorrow Lo 65°|Hi 82° 6:52 PM )

Quick question (wondering)
If i change the time interval to lets say "10"
shouldnt it update every 10 minutes?
although the time doesn't change on the panel or no vibes.
Is it set to only 60 minutes even if we change it?

Or how about moving the time to todays forecast? giving you more room for your high/low

I will implement all these changes today. Thanks for the suggestions!
To answer Mikey's question about the update interval... If you change it now, it has to wait for an hour before it starts updating every 10 minutes. The wait the logic works now is it waits for 60 minutes, then updates. If you make a change inside those 60 minutes, it will wait the remainder of the original interval, before it will update at the new specified interval.

Also, can i for my own. Change it from yahoo weather to weather.com?
I hate yahoo services. lol It lags at times. Specially with their homepage sports scores. (can be 2 hours later and shows the game, still in progress)
Let me know. I figure you cant go wrong with a site dedicated to weather.

Yahoo DOES use weather.com to pull the information from :p
Anyway, looking into the 24 hour time request... It's possible, but we would have to resort to a display of the last update the phone did. Right now it display the last update time on Yahoo's servers. Unfortunately they only provide the time in am/pm format and for me to format it to military time would be a huge pain, that's not worth it, IMO :)
I could make it an option where you can have the last update time display from Yahoo's servers in AM/PM or from the phone in military or am/pm format. Does that sound good ?

yea, personally i'd prefer the time the phone last updated. as opposed to yahoo time... but i still like am\pm vs. military , so also make that an option
edit: also to respond to your answer that mikey asked regarding weather.com..... although they pull from weather.com, there definitely is some lag on when their (yahoo's) weather info is updated. So if you go right to the "horses mouth" ( if possible) you'd get a closer to the minute current weather reading.

Don't take it personally. Just continue to build YOUR knowledge base as you read these forums. If you have to get your answers from some other source, then so be it! I doubt that he's ignoring you, as Mikey said, but if you can't get your answers one way--try another. Have you tried PMing him? He may give you the answers you need that way.

I've tried many different ways to get it to work but no success.
When I initially install it and reboot my theme is half blue half green and the weather panel is stuck at 25%.
When I try to change the home screen to either of the "Sliding Panel + Weather" or "Sliding Panel Top Bar + Weather" I get this blank home screen now. And it remains blank (no other home screens work either) until I uninstall your program.
The only weather program that works is your older one... :(

New layout options... What do you guys think about this ?
The background of the panel changes according to the current weather condition. The background is a little streched out right now, but it's just in the testing phase... :D
Three layout options so far.. White text, city name aligned to the left. White/Black text city name centered at the top. Maybe we can even bold the text. I can fade out the background even more to make the text more readable as well.

I had this problem in the early versions too. Have you tried rebooting after the blank screen came up? Also, have you installed the weather update.cab that Org posted yesterday? I know that fixed my "Forecast...25%" issue. The update.cab is located in post #447 of this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391147&page=45).

Alright, I need to clear up a few things. the version posted in the first post of this thread works fine. no need to install the update.cab mentioned by syntaxx. in fact i will remove it shortly. second.... i was under the impression that its a known issue that the current version of chome weather will not allow homescreen chages o any kind without having to reboot. if you want to make changes... change whatever you need to change... then reboot. i will continue developing the older version that used the welcomecenter style plugin, but its not a top priority right now.

Yes. If I reboot my homescreen is green with blue panels and if I try to change the homescreen to anything, the screen ends up blank again. And, the weather panel is stuck on 25% (right after a reboot). Then round and round I go again (reboot yada yada). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no change. The weather I'm installing is the one from TODAY.

Org, what about a panel changer to change between current and forecast panel(using your layouts as the panels and just updating the layout showing from homescreen without having to open options and updating again. I made a panel.mscr using your current layouts to change between and made it look like this. By the way, I like the first screen shot you posted with white text.

I've tried both. I've rebooted after a clean install and waited for it to do its thing. Also, after a clean install I've clicked your program "Weather Options" and set it to auto update in 45. I've even tried to tell it "N" for try to connect first and I've tried "Y". Nothing seems to work. I've probably installed and uninstalled it 8 times each trying something new.

Well, I tried that too but not at first (either way nothing works) BUT first I selected "Weather Options"...typed in my zip and "Y" for internet (initially) then rebooted. Then I get to 25% and I can see it attempts an internet connection. But still it doesn't complete.

v1.7: I would hardly call this a bug, but I am running the slim version at the moment, and I notice that the weatherpanel, when not selected, doesn't "dim out" like the others. Ok, so I tried to uninstall and you're right after a re-boot its still there. So I tried to install over the top and I get an Alert saying "The previous version will be uninstaller first" I selected OK. Then I got another error "The previous version cannot be uninstalled, would you like to install anyway?" I selected OK. After the install it asked for a reboot..OK. After a reboot the Weather panel is gone and its out of my programs list as well. So it looks like the only way for me to uninstall then reinstall is to attempt to install it (but it actually uninstalls) then reinstall and reboot.
After I reinstalled the cab file again (the thin one) I now have the weather panel on my home screen and the color green throughout but the weather is stuck at 10%. Rather then me clicking around messing it all up I will wait for your (OrganicM) response ;)

Your program, v1.7, is a complete success. I downloaded it and installed while I got ready for work this morning. I set it up while I drove, which was surprisingly easy do to its perfect architecture.
That being said, I've got some pics posted below of what I liked that I have seen in this forum for your panel.
I like the Iphone idea the best. I know you said it's on the backburner, but right now, it should be on the front on HIGH HEAT. It looks sweet.
Otherwise, I like the one you posted as your original fav, that would be pic2.
Lastly, the one you are showing as what you're leaning towards is not as good in my opinion. I don't mean as well done or made. I mean I like that layout better on the one you called your fav originally. Anyways, thanks for the perfect screen. I hope you get back to me on adding another panel below,or and this is a big OR, using that idea in a previous post about a panel that switches your weather panel's info from current to forecast. Just an idea, tell me what you think. Holla!!:D

Now that its been a good hour of just leaving my phone sit there, I just now looked at the screen and there was this:
Error
Error 'http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forcastrss?p=90210&u=F'
couldn't be opened (http error 500)
Line 84 (\ProgramFiles\NRG\ChomeWeather\weather.mscr):

Have you downloaded this 1.7 version? I didn't notice you saying that or anyone asking you?
Maybe you did, but I just haven't seen it.

He's going trough a proxy. I just had him connect through activesync and it updated just fine. He probably needs to put in the number for TMobile's tzones proxy and he might be fine... An HTTP error 500 is definitely not a problem with my script :)

Thanks for the kind words. It looks like at least someone is appreciating all the hard work I've put into this :) As far as the IPhone layout, it's done and I safely put it away in a .rar file so I can incorporate it into the Options later. The other two layouts... YOu'll have an option between light or dark colored backgrounds and where the text is gonna go on them... I bet you'll like it :)

Dude, you do that and I'm coming to Vegas (Scratch that, Romania) and finding you and buying you a beer.:) LOL!
Give me some options in the layouts I can choose, that way even if I don't like them exactly (WHICH I'M SURE I WILL), I have the option of tweaking those in the mscr file and getting my way as all real men should.
I appreciate your work, I'm glad that pleases you, you deserve it. Iphone, one word, SWEET.
When's this release expected to hit the street, good buddy.
10-4, over and out.

Org, this thing is awesome. I haven't noticed any bugs in version 1.7 as of yet. We all really appreciate the work you've put into this .cab. Today I was looking at the posts over the wee morning hours. You have been up until 2 and 3 AM fixing bugs and answering questions! When you finish the .cab, you should take a vacation...on us. j/k Great work man.

Hey, Organic, is there a way I could "borrow" your source files for the WelcomeCenter based one? I'd love to pursue the 100% image based one, but not sure were to start, or how to script the image swapping. I suppose seeing what you've got would be as good a place as any.

quick question: when i change the chome font to script...i love the font, but then the weather panel is distorted...so i reinstall the cab file....the weather options menu is in script now and rediculously small and i cant read it

Hmm would someone mind exporting and uploading the LM\software\microsoft\chome\Ctestuiplugin and LM\secuirty\ CHOME\defualtsettings\CTestUIPlugin reg folders?

Well then it sounds like you need to stop experimenting. Chome doesn't like a mish mash of options installed on top of each other. Sorry... start over! :)

It doesnt currently work on the VOx. Go to the Vox forum and look for the weather thread. There's info there on what needs to be done to get it to work.

Did you try this. Try to install these two cabs to see if it will unlock and work.
