if you're talking about niki's sliding kbd maybe it isn't the problem with this diamond ported keyboard?!
maybe it's common niki's prob you can find solution in this forum...

Hello,

on mine german niki was same problem with only numbers on harware kayboard.Just downloaded the keyboard fix from htc e-club and installed it on my device.
Now everything works great and flaweless.

I changed some rgeistry entrys,but forgott which one, but I can post mine her if somebody needs.

what keyboard fix? is this the "Hot fix for abnormal Nike TouchFLO screen display and keyboard output problems" I tried to install it but it wont install on my niki, i have attached the screen shot of the error, BTW i am using the niki project rom. thanks

I tried it but encountered error, you mentioned before that you edit some registry, did this work?

No sorry, only changing registry entries didn´t work.
Maybe it could. I don´t know what this hotfix is doing on the device,
maybe only registry tweaking...i don´t know.

I installed it and everything worked fine :s but I had to uninstall it because ti didn't have Spanish xt9, and I need it daily, but the app is well made.

I think you have spanish XT9. You only have to change registry key.
The keyboard is complete with I think 5 or 6 languages.

Was same with german, first you can´t select german, only english and italian. after changing registry you can select between 5 languages.

really nice keyboard - recommend it, it replaced my other touch keyboards for some reason but much prefer this one and actually use just the qwerty, forgot about changing from ita to eng which confused me for a while.

great I got all the languages to work, and they're AWESOME. The XT9 is SOOO fast! But now my hardware keyboard doesn't work :@!!! Can anyone get it to work? I see a very VERY superior XT9 for some reason. So fast, and responsive (at least on the touch screen version). The Hardware keyboard doesn't work for me :( I'm on Tom's Rom.

Getting a little confuse, so it works except that it gives this error:

The touchscreen keyboard works like a charm, the hardware keyboard, which I imagine was not thought of when it was copied over to us, doesn't work. It only gives you the "what you see button is what you get" meaning that you get the letters for the extreme right and left buttons, but not the center buttons which have numbers written on them. That's our current predicament.

still does not work. you can now type letters but the keys are correct and seems not in the right place. ex. when you need to enter "o" so you have to tap the 6 trice but the letter that shows is not correct.

ok, if i remember it was the same on mine first.
make softreset after installation.(switch power on/off).
after that play a little bit with the xt9 settings menue.

Works for me :) Didn't work the first reset, then a gentle reset again made everything work :D You're the bomb ;)

Just the registry, but I do have a question. Right now when I type on my keyboard or on screen, the XT9 doesn't show up, nor does the ABC or anything, but if I push and hold the asterisk everything does show up A-OK!

To conclude: Everythign works fine, you just don't know if it's in ABC or XT9 until you press and hold the asterisk, or pull up the keyboard.

Is the hotfix supposed to fix that? hmm... :)

ok, I tried. After importing these 2 reg, now i can type english using the keypad but all the letters are jumbled and only the numbers are ok. I tried to reset my device a few times like zkyevolved did but no avail. FYI, my touch is an asian 16 keypad set, just to check if your reg are for the 20 keypad? Can you help to solved my issue? Waiting for your reply before I delete it.

no, the hotfix doesn´t solve this.On mie it´s the same, but for me it is no problem.
Mayxbe this is normal with this keyboard, i realy don´t know.
But i´m so happy that this keyboard now woks for me, becaus the xt9 GERMAN is absolutely perfect, i love it.

i agree, the xt9 on the new device is absolutely flawless, and not to mention that now they fast typing error is now fixed, and then that means that i can finally let go and run a muck on my keyboard hehe. i thank you! the 20 key device now is all good :-)

OK Now when I try to silence an incomming phone call... it doesn't silence. That key is no longer working as a silencer :P. Any ideas?

Try to import the reg files, and after that switch your phone power off. not only softreset,maybe it helps.

Tried all means... New bug found on the 16 key device, 1)when start of new sms, only numbers are appears when the soft keypad is pressed, you need to press on 'option' then exit 'option', then the soft keypad functions normally. 2) when slide open the keypad to show the action screen then press on the keys to make phone calls, it doesn't work anymore.

I already removed this diamond key and revert to the original, little info for the 16 key user, hope someone can solve this for the 16 key device users

I also found another bug. I'm going to start keeping track now, lol.
1) Can no longer silence incomming calls
2) when slide keyboard open, and is at the main screen and start to push numbers (on phys keyboard) it brings up letters after the first number, and stops searching / filtering contacts. I must bring up onscreen keyboard to continue. // YET if i'm in the contacts application, everything works as planned....

Now i'm in a predicament, because I really like the keyboard. It NOW for the first time doesn't "jump" letters when I type fast, which I find incredibly important. So far, the good outweighs the bad... for the moment :(

Any ideas on what registry edits would fix these problems?

looking at the registry entries one they have a lot of entries that are missing from mine (16 key) but one that will be making a difference mentions something along the lines of a 20 key map. deleting this entry makes no difference but if someone can find the corresponding 16 key file it may make a difference.
