I just got done with classes for the semester and I want to spend some spare time getting my S620 (with IWireless service) to tether without paying the extra $40 a month. I have a data plan right now and can access the net with my phone, but I cannot tether.

Since the phone supports the .NET compact framework and J2ME shouldn´t there be a way to write some sort of packet forwarding program that will accept byte[]´s from the USB end the forward them to the phones modem? This way I can bypass the restriction and my provider will have no clue. Is this even possible? Thanks in advance.

Why can't your tether ? Because the provider says you can't.. or because you tried sharing and it doesnt work ?

Well, it actually worked on one laptop but not the other. Your comment made me double check and it turns out I won´t be needing to write a program for this. Now I can focus on the having fun with the RIL. Thanks!

Yeah, the internet sharing component on winmo is very touchy for some reason. It's like a woman... you gotta get in its good graces before it'll do anything for you... lol
