This is the final version 1.0 Release of WM6.1 for the HTC Juno/Phoebus.

This is for developers and anyone who wants a clean rom without any T-Mobile bloatware or 3rd party apps, inlcuding ArcSoft MMS 4.0.

If you want the startup animation length to be shorter, change [HKLM\System\Startup\2] "Duration" anywhere from 1000 to 4000 (msecs)

This release has none of that stuff. It's just a base so that anyone else who wants to make a WM6.1 ROM can do so. Or if you want an ultraclean rom that's fast and has lots of space.

I unlocked my phone through t-mobile so i skipped the step sda unlock. but ran the CID program and no hickups im at 68% and climbing will check out the MMS issue. also if you view SNN3.1 for the wizard MDA he installed a CAB that does automatic Network set up. I am wondering if this cab would work on the smartphone? that way the mms and t-zones will be set up .. if not i will go to t-mobiles site to see if i can manually configure it. im sure with the dotac configurator should be easy. device is up and running. now time to start installing cab fixes and my faves.. woot. im playing with arcsoft mms cab right now .. seems buggy .. but will look into other options..

Arcsoft_MMS_4281.cab should fix the mms problem its a bit buggy i have like mms and mms1 listed but i can send and recieve mms when i set up the tmobile mms servlets in the options settings .. the page i found the program is

Yes, the rom does have WLM, Voice Command, and Office Mobile. I think I'll just have to use T-Mobile's provxml files to setup the data and mms.

I got an idea yesterday and this weekend I'll be testing to see if I can get Neo to work. I'm going to have two sets of plugins. The wm6.1 currently reference the bronze resources and that's why Neo doesn't show up. I'll just add the Neo plugins with different names and replace the CHome and confetti core with the old ones.

that is in that thread works but has a few screeen bugs as far as rendering the bottom correctly or having top keys menu and select missing but other than that i installed it than i set up t-mobiles dotac settings and voila i now have mms.

okay .. i think this acrsoft cab is for a touch. so now i am searching for a smartphone MMS cab i will be in and out of this post. but that cab works just made for a touch screen but still manageable you can recieve and send mms. i think i need to fix the camera issue first but i will search around for the smartphone MMS cab.

I'd like to gently suggest that the incoming/in-progress call screens are still messed up.

1. For incoming calls (HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\INCOMING\portrait\text) this ROM makes all text white (HEX:FFFFFF or DEC:16777215) which is bad for the off-white background. Black (HEX:0 or DEC:0) and perhaps dark-grey (HEX:222222 or DEC:2236962) should be used here.

2. For in-progress display (HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS) this ROM uses Backgroud_port.bmp and Background_land.bmp images that are based on the "Windows Default" (Green) theme. Switch to a different color-scheme (ie. red Guava bubbles), and the green looks awful. Just as with the comm manager, a neutral background should be used here.

Okay managed to get mms working using arcsoft.cab the file i found searching endlessly is ArcsoftMMS_5_0_31_7_US.cab. than I applied t-mobiles server information in the options. the SMS / MMS are now one and you have 2 or so locations where you can set your MMSC info. But so far so good. still testing out other apps some which just wont work. Tried to install the myfaves cab but just hangs than says MY5APP.EXE is corupted or not found. so im still looking in on how i can fix this. but having the ability to send and recieve MMS is awesome. sometimes it takes a bit to send a file or recieve one but working.

Sorry I never made an explanation. I'll make sure to do that as soon as I'm done making this new rom image.

I have added the file to my MyFaves package that I made. In the meanwhile, go to the HTC Wizard forum and look at the stickies. Especially the one by faria. These will help you before you actually cook anything.

Neo's working on wm6.1!! Unfortunately, sliding panel doesn't work now. The only solution I can think of now is the switcher application I thought of a while ago. There are still some problems on Neo though. The battery settings won't show up and when the messaging section is enabled, Neo dies and you are left with black screen until you take that plugin out again.

do you know if the smartphone version of wm6.1 have the SQM "problem"?
I was browsing the Development & Hacking forum and found that this SQM keep sending data to MS (and probably using resources).
Because it's so integrated with the system you can't simple delete it, you have to use a dummy dll.

I found a program and made a cab for us to use.

My suggestions are to install this cab and then set the short press to run this app.

this will work on 6.1 and 6.0 and you must run the program for every rotate. It is already setup to take the 10th spot of the side key settings.


So if you want the screen right handed = Run the program 3 times
And if you want the screen left handed = run the program 1 time
and if you want the screen upsidedown = run the program twice
and then run the program untill your screen is back to normal.

I only have one problem the writing options wont open the T9 settings I have to press and hold the * key to open the settings, I would like to fix this.
I also have XT9 Settings available under my all settings menu.
So what do you think have I missed a file a registry setting anything?

I not the programmer. The algorithm is represented to me so: to try to add all files 419.mui in ROM, to stitch the device and compulsorily to specify in the registry replacement 409 on 419. Or I something not so think?
Or to try to compile .cab which will add in ROM all files 0419.mui there where files 409.mui are stored and to make corresponding editing of the registry?

i followed the .zip of installations to the T, and when i try to run RUU with the .nbh provided on rapidshare, it stops at 2 percent and says the file is corrupt, and well right after that, my computer got virused up so one of the mirrors, don't know which one may be f'ed... i'll be going through safe mode when i get the time to repair the damage done, so downloaders beware... i've never had a virus on my main PC ever (at least one that lasted more than a day without me fixing it) so dl'ers beware...

i'm guessing i may have messed the SSPL up somehow, maybe fixed a step, if anyone can enlighten me it would be apreciated

EDIT: and just for added reference, i thought my shadow was bricked until i fiddled around and converted the ROM back to the original tmo ROM after a little searching, so a sigh of relief on that note

UPDATE: got the rom to get to 100 percent, try starting up the device and it gets stuck at the htc logo, waited over 20 minutes and it wouldn't go past that, i try turning the device off then it goes into a cold boot config, gets to 2 percent again, and then shuts off... think i'm out of luck unless somebody has the same batch of devices as me maybe, mine is a specially packaged shadow direct from htc that came with an extended battery and factory backplate

go to opera.com get operamini for windows mobile or opera 8.x for windows mobile and install from there.

also the shadow has java built in. go to start > accesories > java.

i know quite a bit about smartphones and pocketpc's in general, and am very technically experienced with phones and computeres...

if you notice, the new "final version1.0" clean dev for the shadow doesn't have java in the accessories menu, so that is why i am asking because the link for jbed on the forums is not working, and i can't seem to find a good working copy thats compatible with this new software... i can understand if no one has developed it yet as this new software revision just came out...

i'll try tinkering with it a bit... i'll figure it out eventually, i just like getting answers faster to get stuff working, plus i'm a bit on edge as my iphone went through the washer, but it was a POS anyway, just miss the safari browers + touch screen combo, only reason i kept it

typically you can move up, but a lot of retail sales centers, especially cell phone companies like to see some sort of degree on your resume... if you have a bachelors, send in a resume, tell me where you're located and i can see if i can get some contacts over there and do a recommendation through my manager to help you out

Could SOMEONE please post how to enable wap? I installed this and it's great except I have the $20/month unlimited data plan and your nbh is missing this BASIC ability-jeezuz.
Thanks for any help. I have all 3 xml's for wap (none of which point to $20/month unlimited) & not a clue on what or how to make it happen. I can work around & fix any other bugs such as camera, etc., but having no wap capabilities is like having no phone capabilities.

remember the 19.99 plan connects to internet2.voicestream.com (for contracts) and internet3.voicestream.com (for flexpay) instead of wap.voicestream.com... i dont know why ppl pay 19.99 and dont use the right servers. your paying 19.99 so you can use the internet servers instead of wap servers.


its like getting a job and you get to pick from a company bmw or you can use your POS toyota. are you going to stick with your toyota (wap) or go with the bmw (internet 2 or 3) .. of course your going to pick the new bmw because you can and its your right as the employee (paying 19.99 to t-mobile)

I have the 19.99 plan and wap was my default settings on the T-Mobile rom I tried internet2.voicestream.com and didn't see a difference or at lest on the first cooked rom but it looks like T-Mobile is pulling a fast one I will have to look in to the differences in the two and call T-Mobile on this

voicestream is the server your phone connects to for internet and wap connections.

wap.voicestream.com is a server for t-zones (internet with blocked ports), MMS, Email
internet.voicestream.com is the server that has no blocked ports

the proxy trick using the 5.99 plan gets around the blocked ports.

from what i understand. All i know a tier3 technical support from t-mobile told me to connect to internet server for internet instead of wap. thats the only reason i tell ppl about it.

After running network wizard I was able to use my unlimited data plan ($20/month). But It was slow and seemed to freeze up at times. I had to run network wizard several times as it would sometimes say I had connections that were set wrong and I could not browse at all. I played with various settings such as internt2, 3, & even morespeed.voicestream.com. At one point on voicestream3 it was actively refused. All this with wifi off and not connected to pc of course.

I called t-mo and was told: (Connections, GPRS)

T-Mobile Data connects to -The Internet
Access point -wap.voicestream.com
no authentication & everything else at default (blank, 0.0.0.0, & blank)

T-Mobile MMS connects to -T-Mobile MMS
Access point -wap.voicestream.com
all else same as the data settings
I did however run the ArcSoft_MMS_4.0.CAB (before calling t-mo) tested it & it worked great!

IE connection settings are: Automatically detect... !!

Using above settings I still had very slow connect & before I could question her more about Proxy settings I had to hang up.
Anyways there was a proxy setting (null-corp I left alone) that seemed to point to some reg key. I deleted it and browsing now works quite well albeit edge is slow at times. Just a heads-up for those who want to tweak their connect. If someone knows a different GPRS & Proxy setting with an unlimited data plan feel free to let this community know. I heard that some are paying $5.99 for T-zones and basically getting unlimited.

Screenshots below are using the 6.1 1.0 final with FR Black theme, FR Alpha Dialer, as well as a slightly different comm mgr which I prefer over the one that comes with the dev ed. the green box at top of screens 7 & 8 is tornado power control running in the background. Running Smarttoolkit as well. Tornado is annoying but the shadow is just too damn slow for all practical purposes.

works the best of all. Much faster than the settings the t-mo rep gave me. I thought they might be wrong as I am on unlmtd plan. Time to test stepping down to the 5.99 plan. Will update if there is a problem. The $5.99 plan is not called t-zones, it's T-MobileWeb. Too bad wifi doesn't work with cellular off. It damn well should! Be nice when a cell phone allows for both or either without 'financial' conflict.

tweker t mobile told me the same thing I have never had trouble with network wizard and with all the customizing and flashing I do it comes in handy for me plus wap. was my default setting on the t mobile rom internet2 and wap seem to go just as good

Select Network: The Internet (Must be set to "The Internet" to work over WiFi. Try "WAP Network" if you're having trouble over the
EDGE/GPRS connection)
Press Done.


Configure Messaging (follow these steps for POP or IMAP email accounts that have been manually setup)
Start Menu -> Messaging -> Highlight your email account -> Menu -> Settings -> Press Next twice
Select Network: WAP Network
Press Next three times then Finish.
1. In Settings/Connections/GPRS/T-Mobile Data:
Tmobile Data Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com

2. Add a 2nd and 3rd GPRS options:
T-Mobile MMS
Connects to: WORK

3. Then create ONE Proxy:

4. In connections, click menu, then advance and set ALL connections to AUTOMATIC

5. To get the Exchange Server working:
(Exchange Server settings)
Options/Advanced
Connection: Internet

6. To get Pop mail accounts working:
(This will need to be done for each account you have)
Options/Account settings/Advanced Server Settings
Network Connection: Work
NOTE! The option to select which way to connect isn't available until you finish creating the POP account (go back in and change to: Work)

7. To get IE working:
(In Pocket Internet Explorer) Menu/Tools/Options/Connections
Check "Automatically Detect Settings"
Select Network: WAP Network



That should do it! Not all applications will work with this configuration, but Messaging (Exchange/POP3/IMAP) and Pocket Internet Explorer will work. Credits for the WM6 instructions to go http://dashapps.googlepages.com/ ! If the above instructions don't work, try completely deleting the connections and re-adding them

Yes Mike you're right it says to set this acces from internet2.voicestream.com , but after I set my phone to internet2.voi...com I have error saying "remote party has ended this connection". Couple of pages load very fast before this error but rest of 'em not. So, i have set internet settings to wap.voi...com

its just here in cleveland when i connect to wap i get 14 - 20 KB/s when im on internet i get 25 - 30 KB/s.

Dont know if this is the most recent release of 6.1, but I've installed it and am testing it (the clean dev 1.1) but here we go.
Small bug: received an MMS, so it gives the notification screen that covers the home screen (windows default). Read and replied, then when attempting to exit, the home screen showed that notification, but the links still worked. Up/down + select and it would bring up most recent programs and call history, but the display was still wrong. This was not solved by <endcall> or <back>. The only thing that seemed to get it back to nothing was sliding and locking.
again, small bug, nothing to lose sleep over.

Actually I got a new TM Shadow and I will be using that out of US, so I was looking for a Clean OS (without the TM stuffs in the rom) but nothing extra/removed other than TM stuffs with a updated SYS may be 6.1 or later?
