Pappa gave me the OS and xport only, I had to port it over for the wing. And will be using it to update the current roms for release v.5.0.

Every thing seems to be working now and I'm going to test it tonight.

I believe ttran has updated the radio ... Dont quote me on that as I havent checked. If not then wait for new version to be released we check radio and if not we flash new radio ....

OK you do not need to install pocketcm , live search , googlemaps or s2u2 on your phone all work quiet fine from sd card ... I know I tried ...

pocket cm runs anywhere in my experience. google maps works better on sd card as it has more space for more memory.

go ahead and flash the radio, plus sometimes it will stay on the nextime you flash the rom... radio flashing doest make you lose any info on your phone and it takes about 2 minutes to complete

It's the same radio that Rob is running right now...it seems to be working really well.

Use a simple program called paint ... Its part of windows ... open the bmp with it . Then just save as a jpg ..... Now file is small enough for xda ...

Well, I really liked the Radio that was in OT Biggy 3.0 ... that one worked perfectly to me...

Now there's someone complaining in here about a rom not working with SMS/MMS that has definately been stated in about 1000 of the posts on here, and doesn't wanna do a simple fix to get it working...honestly you can leave and never come back.

The creators are human and humans make mistakes. Wow, like you never got a game or piece of software that had issues straight out the shoot. Spit happens, get over it. Awesome rom, can't wait for the newest release.

Hi. I'm not lazy, and I applicate all your works, I even donated on XDA, so it's not about can I read and solve the issue, I just pointed that it's not always about speed, and other fantastic stuff, sometimes it's just basic things, simple stuff.

I don't want to be 'bad ass' here, I just pointed that is not normal. It's ok if windows software are not working, but as I said, if SMS it's just a thing, then in the future it will be phone function, like we don't need it.

yes it was very rude, you apology should be expressed to the person that took time away from their family, and free time to sit a computer long nights and days to put together the works that you have flashed to you phone, without any corporate backing, no sponsorship, no kickbacks from companies, but his desire to create something special for his phone that he decided to share with others in this forum. If you read from the begining of this thread theres a lot that was involved with putting this thing together. Its not about just a simple bug that can be fixed just buy doing a few steps, and no person is gonna make a rom that the phone function doesnt work, stop whining... I mean complaining... Please have more respect and courtesy when going off just because one thing doesnt work. See if you have instructions ( thats why things come with manuals, and instructions, or dvds, or tech support, or forums ) because sometimes everything doesnt work out of the box... theres alot of people like yourself that are there reason why VCRs had the auto time update on them because you couldnt take the time to set the time....

Actually the main question i was interested in was not answered in your review, I was curious as to what version of arcsoft ttran used in the rom itself. In your review I see what versions you installed and which ones had different outcomes, but it didnt clarify if either one was the version ttran used originally. thanks though otherwise the reviews great.

I totally agree. We need something to check if the file we downloaded is correct. SFV is usually used to check the archive itself. This would mean that there has to be two files. MD5 is better here because all we have to do is post the MD5 in the release thread on this forum.

just tried it, and mine works fine... what happens when you press it, and do you have your device overclocked ???

I played with it a little more and the issue that Im having is probably just the way the ROM is cooked. Whenever I get a message, I have to touch directly on the number of messages I have next to the pictures on the today screen, as opposed to being able to touch the picture next to the number. I guess its not that big of a deal. It takes a couple times to finally get the message box to open. the ROM is great. I think some people need to go back to using the original ROM and compare it to what we have available now. I think they will learn to appreciate the awesome ROMs we have available. Sure they require a little debugging, but I think its well worth it.

First off, I've already said that I'm working on fixing the mms/sms issues.
With newer builds of the OS there will be different issues and we are all trying to fix the bugs.

If your not happy using my roms, then use a rom from another cook or go back to the original rom.

They come in, and I can see the preview, and I can even send, I just can't open them. I read through about 8 of the 28 pages and didn't see a solution. I've actually tried each of the 5.x versions and they all do this for me. I thought I read somewhere last week something about a reg hack to get SMS working, but I don't know if it was the same issue. A link to a post works for me, thanks.

Well I'm sorry I dont know if this was mentioned I cant read the whole thread, but when doing the fix for sms on the 5.2 org, i used method two of pureskills guide, and i noticed that he had two thread_sms files in his zip. i had the htm file, but not the other sfv. does this have anything to do with sms not working properly from the start?

btw, i did copy both of the files, and changed permission settings. sms/mms works now.

and a side question. say i didn't want my messages threaded, how do i get rid of that. seems that after a lengthy conversation the messages begin to get a little sluggish.

Google " SMS Tweaker v1.5 " I saw it on ppc freeware it looks like it may do what you want let me know if that works.

Ok in my review I told of the MMS/SMS issue . So under those issues I could not see the version but I also posted my finidns with using different versions of the rom. ttran has many versions out . Best bet is read my reviews now posted on 1 page a sticky and choose which one has the least amount of problems where you are concerned.

And that is my advice to all . This thread is too large in size so my best advice i s for all who are asking this and that to jusy go read 1 thread for all roms. And if there is a rom you see on this forum that I havent tested PLEASE !!!!! send me a pm with the rom and the link.

If it is a herald rom I plan to test it no matter if new or old. A sticky means it should cover all roms and I am in the process of seeking and searching roms so people can stress the threads less and be helped more easily and effectively.

I played with it a little more and the issue that Im having is probably just the way the ROM is cooked. Whenever I get a message, I have to touch directly on the number of messages I have next to the pictures on the today screen, as opposed to being able to touch the picture next to the number. I guess its not that big of a deal. It takes a couple times to finally get the message box to open. the ROM is great. I think some people need to go back to using the original ROM and compare it to what we have available now. I think they will learn to appreciate the awesome ROMs we have available. Sure they require a little debugging, but I think its well worth it.

That sounds kind or wierd... never had that problem with the messages softkey.. have you reflashed the rom? not a hard reset...

After download, unrar the file on your computer. Then follow method 2 step by step. You only need the "thread_sms.htm" file.

Also just a minor annoyance, when in-call, it doesnt display "connected" on the screen, just shows the contact. (by the way, a very sexy screen)

I was also thinking of maybe creating a db of ROMs, with the creators' permission of course. I have webspace that I never use and pay for, and haven't been able to come up with anything useful for it. yes the mms option has been disabled or doesnt work... its because of the version of arcsoft ... there will be a new release soon ( ttran is working on it )

You can resize the Today Agenda to 60 or 70 pixels instead of 100 pixels. Add more plug-in then move the plug-in just above battery status in HTC Home setting.

I have researched this and I am unable to find it.
If anyone can help me find a better search criteria I would appreciate it.

My issue is the following:

I am using Open Touch Diamond.
I installed MS Voice Command after.
I cannot figure out how to activate voice command with my bluetooth headset. I have downloaded other ROMS and I have never had this issue.
I have way too many contacts and drive too much so it is easier and safer for me to use voice command.
What happens when I press my bluetooth button the dialer comes up and the sound is routed to the headset, as if BTAudioOn was activated.

Now this is funny, I used this radio version on Open Touch v4.0 and a lot of people complained about how much battery it drained.

So, on this release I added the original raido and people are now not happy with the reception..lol

hey ttran...first off great roms...been playing around with them since they were based off the wing initially and was the only one to give instructions with not hard-spl'ing (but i finally overcame my fear of that, so i just flash away what seems like it'll work best for me)

anyway...ot 4.0 came with radio 3.12.90, which did seem to have some heavy battery drainage issues...the new radio rom that was posted by ginulean (<--might've spelt that wrong) is for 3.18.90...which from my experience so far has significantly less battery drain issues.

overall, since radio roms can be flashed separately, i don't think there needs to be too much worry to include that in your roms. :p

yes it was very rude, you apology should be expressed to the person that took time away from their family, and free time to sit a computer long nights and days to put together the works that you have flashed to you phone, without any corporate backing, no sponsorship, no kickbacks from companies, but his desire to create something special for his phone that he decided to share with others in this forum. If you read from the begining of this thread theres a lot that was involved with putting this thing together. Its not about just a simple bug that can be fixed just buy doing a few steps, and no person is gonna make a rom that the phone function doesnt work, stop whining... I mean complaining... Please have more respect and courtesy when going off just because one thing doesnt work. See if you have instructions ( thats why things come with manuals, and instructions, or dvds, or tech support, or forums ) because sometimes everything doesnt work out of the box... theres alot of people like yourself that are there reason why VCRs had the auto time update on them because you couldnt take the time to set the time....

*sigh*...i recall reading through the forums a few months back...and the lack of thought and consideration of the rom cookers themselves...was why so many cooks were looking to leave...and i think there was even a post by one of the moderators commenting on that issue...since i think itje had received some heat in one of his rom builds too...

i dunno...i just got the impression that all the roms that the cooks were making for us were just a bonus on top of the sucky original roms that we were given by our service providers. it really doesn't make sense to jump into a rom without reading about it or learning about it. if there are complaints, then people should just stick to the original roms that they started with. cooks are people too...and usually since you're getting something for nothing (in that the cooks are sharing their work), you shouldn't really be complaining. perhaps commenting...but commenting and complaining are very different in the tone of words and style...

anyway, so far, I've been using the 5.0UL and I find it very effective and convenient for my needs. SMS was easy enough to fix (just had overwrite the original thread.html file, since it was cooked into the ROM originally, so the checking of the three boxes didn't work the first few attempts...but when you overwrite a rom file, then it becomes changeable))

just be careful in general if you decide to host the roms...i recall back in the days xda use to host the roms on their ftp servers...but sometime last year, they got hit with a notice from m$...so all the roms were taken down at that time...not sure what exactly the legality of it was...but just a warning...though...it would definitely be convenient to have a site to go to that will host all the roms again...

From the coast of oregon up to the Aleutian chain alaska. I have tested your roms from 3.0 on up on t-mobile, cell one, cingular, and at&t. I dont always have a internet connection but I have been reading the posts when I do. Thank you for all your hard work and talent, also thanks to Skillz, and Rob for easing the transition.

5.2org MMS/SMS working 100% ... The fix that ttran001 uploaded is the same identical file that is already in the rom . I tested his file , the file from 5.2org and the file from 5.3 biggie. All 3 are the same so I opted to use the file from 5.3 biggie as its working in the rom already.


Method 1


1.) Flashed 5.3 biggie to your phone.

2.) Run the network wizard

3.) Let network wizard restart phone.

4.) Send a MMS message to anybody.

5.) Let anyone send a MMS to you.

6.) Open Total Commander

7.) Goto \Windows

8.) Goto file thread_sms.htm

9.) Click File >> Properties

10.) Check box Change... Then check Read only , Hidden , System.

11.) Press OK.

12.) Soft Reset device.


Method 2

1.) Download my file Pureskillzzz thread file.rsr and extract thread_sms.htm . (at the moment its on my ftp)

2.) Copy it to the windows directory using activesync or Total Commander.

3.) Open Total Commander

4.) Goto \Windows

5.) Goto file thread_sms.htm

6.) Click File >> Properties

7.) Check box Change... Then check Read only , Hidden , System.

8.) Press OK.

9.) Soft Reset device.

You now have working threaded SMS/MMS in 5.2 org

You can resize the Today Agenda to 60 or 70 pixels instead of 100 pixels. Add more plug-in then move the plug-in just above battery status in HTC Home setting.

I disabled the today screen plugin within task manager settings, it seems like it worked... might activate htc home launcher in its place... and turning the plugin off makes the device run a little faster.

I only use battery status for battery indicator and occasional overclocking so I don't have any specific setting per say. I just downloaded the cab from the website, installed it and now no more pop up message.

I just dl the battery status cab you post. It turn out the same cab file that I used last time. It'll give you the pop up later.

Reformat it period when you get a new card ... 99% of the time its fat16 ,.. make it fat32.

thanks for the info... the current 2gig card i have is set to fat16, found that out with pocket mechanic... might be why the card is acting stupid like its corrupt... im gonna end up copying all files from the card that i need to the PC and then reformating the 2gig card...
that way i can play around with the UC stuff, gotta read up on it first.

i have dinarsoft memaid which allows you to move .dll's over, good program for cleaning registry, caches, call logs etc. and freeing up memory.
might try it once i get a new card, my 4gb kingston has issues with getting corrupted overnight sometimes when im not even messing with anything.
drove me nuts when i didnt notice until I got all the way to work the other day and had no access to my music files and some programs. that 8 hours was murder (im such a geek now) waiting to get home and format lol

Ok ... I use linux to format my cards . Dont trust windows with my life with hard drives or any type of media ...

I havent had an isssue with the storage card 2 problem, basically my card either becomes completely unreadable and the the phone cant tell its there, or other times most of the files become faulty and wont execute. When you take the card out after this and try it on a PC windows tells you the card must be formatted to work.

Hello.

I'm trying the 5.2 Original ROM and it is looking very good. I've spent the past week working out lots of things to tweak to have it set up as I want. I intend to make a donation soon as I am very impressed over the original 6.0 rom that came with my T-mobile Wing.

I went camping this weekend and for the first time in a long time I had no cell phone reception (the horror!:rolleyes:). The phone got very annoying to use as it constantly poped up a notification in the bottom of the screen entitled "phone" bounded in red (which was unusual)) and had some text along the lines of "a GPRS connection could not be established while roaming" (this is not exact - I'm trying to remember from memory).

Is there a registry hack to suppress this notification?
As I am smart enough to realize that if data is not working it has something to do with he no signal icon at the top of the screen :p - Also I don't want to have to turn off data to suppress this notificaiton in the slim chance I get a bar of signal while not looking and all my email accounts can auto sync ;).

I have a T-mobile unlimted data on my plan.
Typical scheduled or always running data requirements are: an outlook exchange email, hotmail (live), and 2 gmail accounts set up as well as the today screen HTC weather.

e-mail accounts also have different setting according to the e-mail serveice / client . So what e-mail are you using and what settings do they give you . The solution maybe right there before you .....

by the way i installed the new opera mini after you answered my post it works but i lost all shortcut functionality to it and cant get it back. I searched, found and followed duprades thread on java app shortcuts even copied what windows/appdb/selector.utf said was the correct applet # for .ink shortcut. oh well just a shortcut,gone but not forgotten. now i need to do some research on getting rid of the security warnings for network access everytime it loads.
about ready to reflash anyways. start fresh and clear some bugs out

had this issue with yahoo, when it would check online for automatic server settings it would load imap but wouldn't allow me to select pop3 which is what i use. my work around was to put a fake email address in that it couldnt find settings for (xxxx@yaho.com not yahoo.com) then set up everything with correct pop3 server settings. after wards backtrack and put correct email address in.

ok... if it's a sdhc card.. it should've come pre-formatted as fat32.. sounded like a bad card, which sucks... what storage is it? hopefully not a big one. :(

Guess I coulda made that clearer (it was a long weekend lol)...I am using OT 5.0UL and Gmail accounts. I know how to set it up for imap, however the imap option is grayed out (stuck on pop3). I can only assume that something was removed or left out. Does anyone have Gmail coming via imap, or any other email accounts for that matter?
