I'm currently working on v5.0 which will be WM 6.1 Build 19213.1.0.4 and hope to have it completed some time next week.

I'm planning on releasing the following version for this release.

Micro - Don't worry it will include WM for the MP3 ring tone lovers....lol

Lite - Not sure which interface I will be using yet.. but it will be fast.

Org - This will be almost the same as the original rom (Wing and Herald versions), but with a Open Touch twist...
You could say that I'm going to give T-Mobile and HTC a free upgrade to WM6.1 Build 19213.1.0.4....LoL

Biggy - This one will look like my Avatar..

PointUI - Pretty much the same as the current v4.5 PointUI but with the cube and newer build.

One last thing:

I've made a bet with my wife and if I can get enough donations, she will let me cook and publish new build once in awhile.

I told here that people love my work but she thinks I'm making it up.

I don't need big donations, a few bucks per person will help shut her up and me to win the bet...lol

This one will be almost like the original rom from T-Mobile but I've removed some unused stuff and added some goodies to it.
Plus, it will have the newer WM 6.1 Build.

5.2org MMS/SMS working 100% ... The fix that ttran001 uploaded is the same identical file that is already in the rom . I tested his file , the file from 5.2org and the file from 5.3 biggie. All 3 are the same so I opted to use the file from 5.3 biggie as its working in the rom already.


Method 1


1.) Flashed 5.3 biggie to your phone.

2.) Run the network wizard

3.) Let network wizard restart phone.

4.) Send a MMS message to anybody.

5.) Let anyone send a MMS to you.

6.) Open Total Commander

7.) Goto \Windows

8.) Goto file thread_sms.htm

9.) Click File >> Properties

10.) Check box Change... Then check Read only , Hidden , System.

11.) Press OK.

12.) Soft Reset device.


Method 2

1.) Download my file Pureskillzzz thread file.rsr and extract thread_sms.htm . (at the moment its on my ftp)

2.) Copy it to the windows directory using activesync or Total Commander.

3.) Open Total Commander

4.) Goto \Windows

5.) Goto file thread_sms.htm

6.) Click File >> Properties

7.) Check box Change... Then check Read only , Hidden , System.

8.) Press OK.

9.) Soft Reset device.

You now have working threaded SMS/MMS in 5.2 org


Hopefully for all those who dont want to hunt these posts down you'll find this useful.

I actually understand the family reasoning and would understand the halt in production. I would only hope that if WM 7 hits you will return. Your works are art in my opinion and appreciated. The only thing I would hope in a "Final Lite" version would be that you remove as much from the ROM as possible and give the end user a chance to add the files as non-system files. Just a seperate archive with the ROM pack so we wont have to search through endless threads to get the features/sounds that were removed.

all tones, btAudio, Advanced Config, autocabs, dialer skin, calculator skin, commanager skin, allblack.tsk, and templates.

Hope I am not offending you by the requests but since this is a Final release I figured I best ask now or forever hold my peace.

Hi,

I'm going to go with the original radio for all the roms and will make available different radio versions for you folks to install after flashing the roms.

Please remember that battery life might not be as good but the reception should be a lot better with newier raido versions.

To me it's a choice we all have to make, I have a charger most of the time so battery life does not matter to me. I want to be able to make and receive calls.

I will have the Org build completed and uploaded today.

This will be a good rom for folks that want and need some of the original programs like Windows Live, My5favs and it will come with the standard NetCF 2.0 so all older programs will work with it.

But please remember that it will not be as fast as the other versions due to NetCF 2.0 instead of NetCF 3.5.

That's awesome you said that like you're the one creating it. Well I was having issues with 4.0 on my wing and then loaded 3.0 and it's flawless. Well here's what ttran stated...
I notice that v3.0 works better for most wing users since the rom is based off of the original tmobile wing rom. As for v4.0, I went with the herald rom just in case some folks did not know. The herald roms for some strange reason moves faster then the wing.
I'm just going off what the chef said.

Im trying your rom out and looks good but cant get T-Mobile Data Network working. I have ran network wizard 2 times and soft reset both times but no go. Does anyone else have this problem?

I believe it was all due to no screen alignment but after some navigating got into the ROM.

My first flashing experience was with OT 2, with the USPL. Hard-SPL'd my phone to use some of your other ROMs. Love the work! Hate to see you stop, but fully understand.

Games ....... ttran001 put 2 games there I guess so you wont be bored.

Internet Sharing ....... I dont use it so untested. I am still looking for a good hack for it free.

MMS ....... Not working at all ...

Phone Key Pad .... Basic keys but they have a smooth movement so way better than t-mobile rom.

SMS ....... Messages come in but cant read all of them unless I move to deleted box. Once in delete box you can respond to message.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine. Sweet job ttran001.

Voice Command ...... Yes its there cant test it with bluetooth. But it does work via the phone.

Wifi ....... Wifi is having problems. Have not made a sucessful connection yet to secured access point.

Windows Media ...... WOW ! It actually works been a while since I seen that.

OUCH !!!!! Activesync isnt working correct at all .... I went to Start > Setting > System USB to PC and checked the enable advance network functionality and no dice. I can browse the files from my phone on my computer but thats it. And the sim contacts are hidden I dont like that. I miss advance config here.

Phone is doing the famous T-mobile rom thing of locking up and freezing a bit ... Been banging on the buttons to see what the phone will do .....

The Bluetooth is another horrible issue I live on a headset as I move around a lot. I finally got it to turn on by going to bluetooth explorer but the hardware still didnt start properly. None of the fixes I have for bluetooth help at all.

Installed T-Zones and it doesnt work I get this error .. "Internet error -8:" "Cannot dial up" .... Something is missing as T-Zones and MMS use similar services. Ok the wifi issue .. Installed hitchhiker to help ... Now I do plenty of networking and wifi mac address is allowed on my routers so I am lost.

Now the MMS / SMS is an awful mess. Just horrible . Cant even reply to a SMS message you have to start from a new message. Never seen that problem in a rom before. Let me try to fix it real quick since cant live with out it.

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

Now remember I tested this on a t-mobile wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

I believe that the issues with MMS/SMS , wifi are all contributed to a wap setting or part missing ... Thats just my 2cents .... Even upon removing Arcsoft from registry , re-installing it and re-doing the network wizard it didnt work. I then attempted to install ArcSoftMMS v4.2.8.1 which didnt solve it and then the newer version Alex__Arcsoft_MMS_5.0.31.7. That was also no help but while tweaking it I noticed that several registry entries are missing. I believe those referring to wap settings.

The rom is impressive with sweet speed, and it is packed with plenty so ttran001 was being nice today.

All the buttons work from the comm manager screen which has been flawed in a few roms .

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible. And once again thanks to papa for allowing me to be on the beta testers team . I feel so special now.

And a note to zcink test it to see the internet sharing portion please.

On the org I forgot to update ArcSoft to ArcSoft MMS_5_0_31_11 since I was trying to give it almost like original from T-Mobile feel.

Please stop downloading and using the orginal version for now and I promise to reup a fixed one today.

Please let me know how the Micro is going, if you don't like it let me know so I can fix it.

The micro version was uninstallable. It got as far as loading the linux portion, went white, began the install and blew up early on. Pretty generic "corrupt image" error.

Tmo version, is exactly as you said, the original (and boring imho *it is stock*), but due to activesync not working, I've gone back to 4.5pointui till the biggy is out. No clue how to debug or provide more info...

And it's the real thing, not a fake build.

Also, I made a mistake with the XIP since I forgot to change it to 19213.

The v5.1 Org has been updated both XIPort and Build to 19213.

I will update the Micro later on today, have a meeting now.

I also have build 19900 but it's not working the way it want it to. I only want the best for my users so once I get that working correctly I will provide updates.

I havent seen this reported but maybe its just me. Micro ver installs ok but once it gets into wm and starts installing i get "Cannot execute repllog.exe" and stops loading. Will try org now ty.

nope and i am a techie junkie ...... but being real if people want a wm7 to run after porting , stripping and modding it will go if enough people get on it . I have seen wmp11 run on sp1 very shaky but it ran .... Not enough people are interested in it then it doesnt float much.

Checked all settings on 5.1 org and they looked ok. Ran t-mobile settings cab but it didnt work. Installed 4.5 ran network wizard. Data plan wap.voicestream.com worked right away and after changing it to internet3.voicestream.com data plan my high speed worked as well. Not sure why it doesnt work on 5.1 org but looks like software not settings.

Ok had to run to a few stores that I do work at .. Have 3 wings to do what ever I wish to them ..... So guess what Im flashing 3 different roms .. Flashing this one as soon as I HardSPL the first wing. All I was suppose to do was hard-reset them add music and a music player but what customer is going to complain about a phone with better firmware ... I do it all the time amd so far never a single complaint ..

Well to start off i just want to say that i LOVE your new rom it is a very nice design. I just got it today and i was trying to sync my outlook contacts as well as e-mails from my computer to your device. Unfortunately, it didnt allow me too. So i then tried to go into the contact application and i then received an error stating that the PocketCM cannot open and does not have a trusted certificate. So I am not positive if i am not doing something on my part or if i just missed something. Please let me know I love your ROM and do not want to go back to my old one. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

I can confirm Open Touch Micro 5.1 hangs on first screen. GOing to install 5.1 was HardSPL'ing anther wing but will install 5.1 on this wing and test the other 2 with other roms.

Battery ..... So far seems very strong as running full back light, installing and un-installing. Also had several phone calls. Took 3 hours in the installing and testing battery ended at 69%

Blue-tooth ....... Not working ... Tried from settings and the bluetooth folder.

Calculator ........ Is working with no flaws. Just beautiful ...

Camera ..... Sweet with the easy settings for storage as you open it the first time

Games ....... ttran001 put 2 games there I guess so you wont be bored.

Internet Sharing ....... I dont use it so untested. I am still looking for a good hack for it free.

MMS ....... Not working at all ...

Phone Key Pad .... ttrann001 gave me a sexy keypad this time around.

SMS ....... Messages come in but cant read all of them unless I move to deleted box. Once in delete box you can respond to message.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine. Sweet job ttran001.

Voice Command ...... Not included this time .

Wifi ....... Wifi is working flawless......

Windows Media ...... WOW ! It actually works.

OUCH !!!!! Activesync isnt working correct at all .... I went to Start > Setting > System USB to PC and checked the enable advance network functionality and no dice. I can browse the files from my phone on my computer but thats it. And the sim contacts are hidden I dont like that. I miss advance config here.

The freezing is not apparent in this rom so ttran001 is working hard ... Been banging on the buttons to see what the phone will do ..... When the rom boots up it says 5.0 not 5.1 ... hmmmmm small bug.

The Bluetooth is another horrible issue I live on a headset as I move around a lot. I finally got it to turn on by going to bluetooth explorer but the hardware still didnt start properly. I didnt even bother with trying the bluetooth fixes.

Installed T-Zones and it doesnt work I get this error .. "Internet error -8:" "Cannot dial up" .... Something is missing as T-Zones and MMS use similar services. Ok the wifi is working correctly now.

Now the MMS / SMS is an awful mess. Just horrible . Cant even reply to a SMS message you have to start from a new message.

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

Now remember I tested this on a t-mobile wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

I believe that the issues with MMS/SMS are all contributed to a wap setting or part missing ... Leaving that alone not trying to fix it this time .....

Last but not least the picture viewing ... hmmmm with file explorer many pictures can't open up but all work well with HTC Album ....

The rom is impressive with great speed, faster than last version and it is packed with plenty so ttran001 was being nice today.

All the buttons work from the comm manager screen which has been flawed in a few roms .

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible. And once again thanks to ttran001 for allowing me to test his rom.

And a note to zcink I have no words for you mate .... LOL

Hello , thanks very much for your great rom ! It's running smooth and fast ! It is the greatest ROM I ever use in my Dopod C800 !

Here is some little opinion for the ROM .

Advantage :
1) Neat and fast ;
2) Much more usable memory for large programs ;
3) Scrolling feature , even better then my workmate's Touch ;
4) Beautiful UI (credit to PointUI ?)

Disadvantage :
1) Compatiability issue with different font (as a chinese user , install different fonts produce unexpected error) ;
2) Quick Bar sometimes will fail to show (due to different font issue) , but when you press the direction the bar may show up part of it ;
3) When press hang up button it will bring back to normal Today screen .

Two versions have been released, the Org, and micro, however both had a few bugs and have been retracted for additional work. Biggy has not been released, and I'd guess next week would be accurate

You're just going to have to decide if you want the new rom and reinstall everything or just stick with what you have.

It works. I have tested it on 4.0. You can use a regedit program to edit the comm mannager and add direct push to it. Make sure activesync is set to receive email as they come in or it wont work.

duh... damn I forgot all about that... theres actaully a tab under accessories for rom settings, I just swapped the direct push option with the vibrate option on the comm manager

If your device is HARD-SPL:

When your battery is low, just enable bootloader mode and then flash away.

Hard SPL is a one time thing.

I know this isnt the place for this, BUT,,,,,,I need some help.
I need to know if there is any way to rename the windows file OMAPsdhc.dll without flashing the rom. I am using yours (ttran) (OT v4.0 lite black)
today, after installing some keyboard stuff, when I went to reboot, it went into the sd card boot loop thing. I never had this problem before, but I had read about it. I took out the micro sd card and it booted normally.
I read where some had success renaming the above mentioned file, but I cant figure out how when it's cooked in the rom. any ideas will be appreciated....

ActiveSync ...... Finally ttran001 has repaired it .

Audio ..... ttran001 must have been reading my reviews. Audio Manager... Nothing else needs to be said.

Battery ..... So far seems very strong as running full back light, installing and un-installing. Also had several phone calls. Took 3 hours in the installing and testing battery ended at 71%

Blue-tooth ....... ttran001 is on point this is now working .

Calculator ........ Is working with no flaws. Just beautiful ...

Camera ..... Sweet with the easy settings for storage as you open it the first time

Comm Manager ...... Ugly t-mobile skin. All buttons working.

Data ....... Working "A" Okay.....

Games ....... ttran001 put plenty games there. He was so sweet to us this time.

Internet Sharing ....... I dont use it so untested. I am still looking for a good hack for it free.

MMS ....... Working now but with some issues.

OZ Communication ...... Is a biggie as I dont have a data plan. GOODIE !!!! Its working flawlessly.....

Phone Key Pad .... ttrann001 gave me a super hot keypad this time around. Something new and a sweet look ..

SMS ....... Messages come in but cant read all of them unless I move to deleted box. Once in delete box you can respond to message.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine. Sweet job ttran001.

Voice Command ...... Not included this time .

Wifi ....... Wifi is working flawless......

Windows Media ...... WOW ! It actually works.

GREAT !!!!! Activesync is working correctly now ..... I am still missing advance config here. OK a small note . Even with the fact activesync is working there is still a little bug with it. As I have to fully check it . So I opt'ed to change the splash screen and had a problem flashing it. Had to goto bootloader mode manually. Had to do multiple reboots of the phone in order for activesync to resync the data ... At one point all numbers and info was erased from phone by an activesync error. Now all is working. Still say its buggy but an immemse improvement from having almost no use of activesync.

The freezing is not apparent in this rom so ttran001 is working hard even tho he fixed that in the last build... Been banging on the buttons to see what the phone will do ..... When the rom boots up it says 5.0 not 5.2 ... hmmmmm small bug.

The Bluetooth is now repaired and working 100%. I was about to install total commander as I didnt see it until I pressed start and there it was guess he hid it there.

Ok the wifi is working correctly now. Able to use both browsers at once and update weather ... Just PERFECT ttran001 !

Now the MMS / SMS is still an issue . Still can't even reply to a SMS message you have to start from a new message. Attempting a removal and re-installment of SMS / MMS . OK we cant get it back 100% but with version 4.2.8.1 you can get the options to choose. With version 5.0.31.7 you lose the abilty to alter it but can choose servers. In both versions there are still registry values missing ... Looks like it needs a complete tear down and rebuild . That has to be cooked ....

ttran001 Even tho you dont like MMS we DO ! .. Well I do ... LOL

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

Now remember I tested this on a t-mobile wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

I believe that the issues with MMS/SMS are all contributed to missing reg files ... Leaving that alone not trying to fix it this time .....

Last but not least the picture viewing ... hmmmm ttran001 fix that as well .... Rom is looking very good now ...

MAybe I called it the wrong version I cant be sure at the moment ... Now which ever version it is it works quiet fine and its 1 of the newest versions I may ad. Now if the version doesnt please you mate you can feel free to add any version you like .... But trust me you will like the rom period ...

Below is the Error code that XP gives herwhen you do active sync has to creat a new partnership and that over writes every thing on the Wing, seams to be related to 6.X and not 5, Google it and there are lot of problems, only one instance in the XDA forum that solved it self.

Someone asked for some pics of the rom so here they are. I have changed some stuff to match the home screen theme. If we could get a su2u theme like the home screen that would be sick. I will make it if i can get a jpeg of the home screen background.

OT Tmo Org 5 is awesome! I am a newb to the wing. Not to roms and flashing been doing it on my razors for a while. Just upgraded to a smartphone a 2 weeks ago. This is a wonderful forum I am glad to be a part of it.

This is an exceptional rom in the past week I have installed Multiple version of Touch-It and Open Touch 4.0 and Biggy 4.0 Liked them both.

So far out of the bunch Your Roms have been my favorite. I may be switching back to Opentouch 4 because SMS and MMS was working for me there.

For other users OpenTouch Tmo Org 5 is great I havn't hit any major bugs except....

as Others have posted To reply to SMS/MMS you must first delete the message and then hit reply from the deleted folder.

Is there a way to install the mail manger from 4 (where this worked) on 5?

or is the problem deeper then that. I dont know to much about cooking. If i get a spare phone I may delve into that art. But right now I count on the wonderful members of this forum to do the cookin while i do the eatin.

If I wasn't strapped for cash I would donate. Hopefully things will look up soon.

Below is the Error code that XP gives herwhen you do active sync has to creat a new partnership and that over writes every thing on the Wing, seams to be related to 6.X and not 5, Google it and there are lot of problems, only one instance in the XDA forum that solved it self.

OK .... I seen that error and even wrote about it inmy review .... restart phone and computer they will soon speak . Even better install 5.2 org and she will be happy with you mate ....

1 minor bug in 5.2 org. When you make changes to items on Today screen (settings ->personal->today->items), the changes are not reflected without soft reset. only after soft reset, the changes are visible on screen.

I had to change a few things with the rom since the UL does not work anymore, I think it needs to be activated. So I removed it and replaced it with something else.

The rom will look somewhat like my avatar but, I think it looks better.

Testing it now and hope to have it done by 6:00PM today.

I read skillzzz's review and noticed im not the only one with sms problems, i cant even open up the message to view it, is there an easy fix for this or is it part of the rom and cant be altered without recooking? Also, will the biggy have quickmenu, battery status, and phm?

Well if there is still a problem with the new rom when its released I will create a fix ..
