WM 6.1 Screwed up keymap

i'm using the kavana rom and i'm noticing that the keyboard seems too partially work like a multitap keyboard and partially like a full keyboard.. also.. it doesn't seem to give me access to any of the modifier keys : ie: alt cap anything like that.. is there something that i have to change to make this work?
