I think, that's my first post in here. I normally just read in this forum, and since now, i always found the answers i'm searching for. But now i have a problem.... (HTC TYTN II - T-Mobile Edition - Standard Rom)

I've installed this HTC Diamond Keyboard, but i only was able to write numbers, NO LETTERS. So i deinstalled the software.... so far,... @ first this process woudln't work, but after 2 or 3 try's, the software was deinstalled (take about 5 minutes each try).

1.) Now my hardware keyboard isn't able to write the german letters ÄÜÖ (press o and denn fn+space = o will be ö)
2.) Second: writing sms... i insert a receiver... if i type one letter, i promptly got all possibilities of my adressbook in a "pop-up".... but now there is no pop up.....

i hope this question is in the correct thread.... and also, that somebody could help me!

I absolutely love the layout, and this is the keyboard I want, but I'm having problems with only displaying numbers too, no letters. Only letters on the full qwerty, but I'm wanting the bi-qwerty BB Pearl style mainly.

The diamond/opal keyboards available have a feature to automatically switch keyboard type when switched to landscape mode, is there a way to change any type of registry so that the keyboard changed when switched to landscape would be null keyboard?? Or at least a tool that lets you choose which sip you would like on portrait and landscape modes would be an awesome help

In the X1 device specific forum, the keyboards from the Blackstone (same resolution) have been extracted and posted as cabs - they will be far better than VGA keyboards converted to QVGA running on WVGA.

I downloaded Diamond keys cab and the russian keys cab.
I figured due to the lack of space on my wizard, I would compress the gfx to 8bit png's in 16 colors. worked well... untill I noticed that some parts of the keyboard did not function.
O opened up the rgu and saw that there are missing bitmaps (could be changed to png's I suppose.)

I believe that in order for the rest of this program (which is exactly what I needed -- to switch between languages) to work correctly, you need to locate those bitmaps that are listed in the rgu.

Also, it helps to save space when you use the "save for web and devices" function in photoshop. you can not imagine how many precious MB's I saved using this method!

It only has files for RUS/ENG. The rest of it I threw out, and upxed the EXE's. Also, the GFX for skining is in a separate folder in windows.

go to windows\startup and delete 2 shortcuts: 1 SIPSEL.lnk ; 2 startkey.lnk

hello everybody,
i installed these keboards on my samsung omnia and after the installation it asked me for a restart. after that the diamond keyboard was usable but didn't work properly: it was writing only numbers.
After i installed these keyboards also the samsung phonepad is not usable because it allows me writing only numbers (the text box is un tappable)
so i decided to uninstalla the diamond features from unistall menu in settings:
the language installation was uninstalled in a few seconds and didn't require any restart, but the keyboard installation is freezing everytime: after i confirm the uninstall it comes out the icon of wm working and then remains like that for tens of minutes without working, but in the while every feature of the phone is useless, the phone is freezed.
how can i uninstall these keyboards manually please?:(

im not sure if its a bug or not.. but sometimes the keypad only type in numbers and to fix that, i press the option then click ok then the keypad will work just fine. well atleast its working for my o2 atom. :p

your problem is the problem quite everyone has!
and nobody tried to help us..
i succeded in uninstalling: i removed all the files and folders manually and then searched for the registry keys "diamond" and deleted them.
now there's no more diamond keypad between the keypad u can choose, but there's still a BIG problem

to (semi-)manually UNINSTALL:

delete all files in windows/ with Date: "30.03.2008"!

Should be files like:
addword_... .png
PQwerty ...
eT9... .dll
PEnter_ ... .png
LNumberMode_... png
small_... .png
and so on
AND xT9Settings.exe (you could have problems with this file, but "Total Commander" does it)
AND ezinput.dll (24.04.2008)
and a vew sympad-Files (from 25.04.2008)

Delete all registry Keys
HKLM\Software\Tegic\
HKLM\Software\HTC\ezsip
there are a vew others wich are no as important...

now soft reset...

Uninstall from programs as you're used to : voilà!

For those of us who installed (and possibly uninstalled) Gullum's Keyboard, and miss the stock auto-complete feature that was, in turn, disabled - here are a few simple, quick steps that just worked 100% for me:



Be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0 - if not, change it.



Change these two registry keys under:

HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409:

Value of Ime File from \windows\xt9ime.dllto \windows\compime.dll

Value of Layout Text from XT9 IME to COMP IME

That's it!

I ask because i didn't find a simple .cab installer, only files for ROM cookers...

Maybe it's a lot to ask but i would need a VGA version of this 3 keyboards with Polish language, maybe someone has done it already.
If there's no .cab, then someone could write a short manual how to install this with Polish keys and VGA.

I have installed the HTC Diamond keyboards with the files "gullum diamond keys.cab", "gullum German Diamond keys.cab" and for testing "gullum English Diamond keys.cab".

The result is, that the Touch Diamond QWERTY keyboard looks like the attached pic: without any letters or keys.

How can I fix this? It is an absolutely perfect keyboard. If it's working..... :(

Same problem here. Will not let me un-install or re-install. Gets huhg up and have to do a soft boot.

Hello all. I own an HTC Touch (Elf). Please forgive me if I am posting a dumn request as this is my first one. I dont even know if this is the right place to write this, but I want only the Diamond Qwerty keyboard without the other two. I want to keep using the original Touch Keypad and Keyboard as they are. Can someone please help me out with this? Since Iv installed the Diamond Keyboard cab it has replaced my original keyboards. Can someone kindly post a cab which will only install the Diamond QWERTY keyboard ONLY?

Sorry, i have read about 15 pages of this thread but i only found one post (that was not answered) that was relevant (i admitedly have not read through all 50+ pages).

I installed the Diamond keyboard and it shows up when i try to select a default keyboard but it doesn't work. I select it but then it doesn't pop up and when i got back to reselect the regular keyboard is selected (not the Diamond keyboard that i am trying to select).

I can't figure out how to make it use and keep the selection of the Diamond keyboard. Any help would really be appreciated!!

I don't fully follow your post. Is your problem that it keeps going back to the default keyboard? If so then install the attached app. You can use this to set the default input.

Hi dancj, thanks for the file. I tried it and still my Kaiser will not retain the default keyboard i select. I try to select the Diamond keyboard but it refuses to, the diamond keyboard shows up as one of the keyboards i can select but when i try to select it nothing happens, even the little app you posted is not able to make my Kaiser use the Diamond keyboard.

run the SIP change program.
select the Diamond Keyboard, but dun select OK.
Wait for around 10 secs and soft reset using software.
see if the keyboard sticks.

When reporting back pleace report what device you have... what Windoms version and if you have the dual keybords installed

Lots of reports have been made that it only types numbers not letter but because no one has reported what device they have or version of windows you just have to try it to see if it works.


It is not working for the T-Mobile Wing. I have the Open-Touch ROM v7.7 without a dual keyboard. It works with the full qwerty keyboard but the keyboard and keypad are only typing numbers.

This is Windows Mobile 6.1

On my HTC Pro , the way to uninstall and get around the "not installed properly", you softboot and hold down center button until its booted up. and screen shows.
right after the "enter sim code" cancelled window, you can go into "settings" and uninstall.
This works every time, since i tried it a few due to the garbage keyboards showing on my screen.
the same solution is also working on Wizards, as i had som similar uninstall issue here.

I had this installed on my old sprint rom. I then installed the dcd rom on my mogul btw. The z key again is gone. Its being replaced by ",123" which is already avaible next to the return key. I see other people are also having this issue.

Anyone know how to bring the "z" key back permanently in the "Touch Diamond Qwerty" mode??

Well I completely uninstalled the htc keyboard and then did the gullum keyoard cab and language install and the Z key is now showing. Thanks gullum! :D

I had same problem when I've installed only gullums_diamond_keys. But, when I've added gullum_english_diamond_keys I've got letters. Now, everything works great.

It probably can, but since these are scaled down to QVGA from VGA, it may not go so well (X1 is WVGA).

I'd suggest you use the Blackstone keyboards, as they're made for thes same screen resolution as the X1 and will work better.

The G900 has a WVGA screen, so the Blackstone keyboards should probably work.

I've found solution for "only numbers" problem - it's in threaded sms. If you switch to standard sms editor mode, everything works ok. If you wish to use threaded sms mode, when you start sms app you have to go to options on touch diamond keypad and back to sms again and keybord will switch to letters. I assume that keyboard knows that you have started sms app and predicts that you will first enter telephone number of message receiver as in standard sms editor, but with threaded sms, cursor is positioned in text imput panel, but keybord is expecting numeric field. my english is bad and i know that you dont understand me, so i'll stop with explanation :)

I have a Problem after uninstalling.

After following this
I've uninstalled it from my Hermes making these steps:
-Selected the default keyboard as input method
-Unchecked every options under XT9 and the Diamond Keyboards
-Soft Reset of the device
-Normal uninstallation
--->With the software "MemMaid" removed unused RegKeys


It was succesfully uninstalled, but the entries in the list of keyboards remained.

Is there some way to remove these (by registry)?

hi guys, i've made a little mistake.
I've istalled this keyboard on my htc p3300, but it wont work... and now i cant unistall it!
When i try to unistall by windows, my htc still run the unistallation but afetr 10 mins unistallation is still running.
How can i remove it manually?

Does anyone have a fix for the missing "z" issue? When using Touch Diamond Qwerty and then switching to numeric (.,123) my letter "z" turns to ".,123". I've searched high and low and can't find an answer.

That's weird, I never noticed that since I don't use 'z' that often, but I can see how it could become problematic.
About the keyboard and keypad issue only typing in numbers instead of letters:
I have a Danish Kaiser and when I flashed a different rom and only installed the english cab I would only get numbers and no letters from the keyboard but i would get letters from the keypad. However, once I installed the danish keys cab the english one worked fine in the keyboard but not keypad. I'm not sure why this is, but it's more important to me that the keyboard works as I never use the keypad. Oh and since I did this I have no more T9 for the qwerty and when I try to go to options in Settings -> Input -> Options for qwerty it just brings me back to the input settings screen. Weird.

Have you ever heard of "reading the thread"?

This isn't something developers get paid to do, they release things because they think people might find it useful, they don't have to provide support, and particular not for things that are a year old!

I've just installed the french keyboard and tried to use the qwerty one. But I don't find how to access to reench accentuated characters (like à,é,è,...). Could you explain me to do so, or how to cutomize the keyboard to add these characters if needed ?
