I'm wondering if there is any way for my Today background to change depending on the screen layout. I have 2 pictures I'd like to use one suited best for a portrait and the other a landscape. Any help would be appreciated, I've searched the forums and could not find an answer.

You would have to create a custom Home Screen Theme.
Attach the images and I'll see what I can do with them.

ThemeGenCE (http://www.codeppc.com/telechargements/themegence/themegence.htm) is a decent theme creator. You can use it to create a theme with different backgrounds for portrait and landscape. I saw a walkthrough of that particular program on PPCGeeks awhile ago. Written by (V)eGa:

I didn't know exactly how you wanted it made, but this is just my interpretation of how it would look.
The TSK file you need to copy to your phone in order for the theme to work is inside the zip file.
